Migraines and things

Who: Smoker & anyone for any reason
Where: Fayren shore
What: Mr. Grumpypants marine has a migraine headache.
When: July 27th at like nearly 4 am.

[Leaving a small note, a pot of coffee sans one travel mug worth, and a pot of ramen soup sans one thermos worth, Smoker isn't completely sure that it'll be enough, but probably better than alerting any general populous that he's not there, even if he did set a couple of metaphorical watchdogs to keep an eye on things.]

[He takes along a small pocket radio, half curious if it'll even work in Fayren, and heads out to the beach.]

[For a breath of fresh air.]

[And to eat his ramen.]

[And think.]

[And overthink.]

[And over think everything ever.]

[As he does.]

[And to try to deal with a migraine headache that won't let him sleep.]

[But if he can't sleep? Neither can you.]

[Which is why he's sitting on the shore, trying to fiddle with the radio player.]

[And maybe toast marshmallows for s'mores.]

[Or roast fish he caught.]

[AND stack rocks.]

[And make a small sand castle you literally won't see until you crush it oops. That's okay, he didn't like it anyway.]

[But at least he'll get to greet the sunrise.]

Oh...

[ Her eyes widen as she sees it up close - it's not the first time she's seen a katana, but the one Tashigi is showing her is doubtless the finest one she has ever seen - possibly even the finest sword period she has ever seen. Even the sight has her speechless, and she's about to touch the blade before hesitating. Maybe she shouldn't, she wasn't given permission to... ]

... I do not believe I have ever seen its equal, truth be told.

It's okay, you can hold it. I trust you.

[She moves it closer to her, inviting her to take it and blushing a little herself. A compliment to her sword is just as good as a compliment to her.]

I wouldn't trade it for the world, but it's actually on the lowest tier of swords of this quality. There are three steps above it, each one far better than the last. There are two I've confiscated in the next group above Shigure, but those weren't with me when I awoke.

If that is true, then there definitely is still much I have to learn.

[ She'll take the offered sword then, smiling as she examines it, feeling the balance and testing slow movements with it. Slow, so that if the dogs find themselves curious about it she can stop and keep from hurting them or damaging anything in the kitchen. Once she's satisfied Adela will hand it back, her expression bright. ]

Shigure is its name? Truthfully naming swords is a little strange to me, but that may simply be because my home is so much different than yours. Perhaps I should take to starting to name the blades I make once I have become skilled enough.

[Tashigi's practically beaming as she examines it - she loves sharing her passion with someone else who can appreciate it. When she takes it back, she's perhaps even more excited than when they started.]

Trust me, when you reach that level, people will need to name your swords. Every work of art deserves an equal name, after all!

Someday, then. I do intend to return to that work and become a master, at least once I can walk again.

[ She's grinning, unable to help thinking that she and Tashigi are going to get along great. Being tired and being woken up have been all but forgotten as the conversation continues. ]

I would be honoured if you would look over such work when the day comes, perhaps even bestowing a name on one which you think is worthy of it.

[Her? Name a sword?! She blushes from the thought, but excitement is plain on her face.]

I... if you're sure, I'd be honored! I'd always hoped I'd see more masterwork swords come into life, but I never dreamed I'd get to name one.

[Adela, you have quite possibly made her lifetime.]

I am certain of this.

[ She can't help it, feeling even more pleased as the conversation goes on. Now she just wants to get back on her feet as soon as possible, if only so that the day will be that much closer. ]
