It seems like the fates were conspiring to make things awkward for a certain pair at the Guild lately. Lucy was cool with that. Awkward was fun -- WHEN IT WASN'T HER. In any case, the temperatures warming up had the young spirit mage finding her way to the nearest ice cream shop in Genessia. She'd left an open invitation for the others to join her when they were unoccupied of course. Anyone who happens upon said ice cream store will find her at the counter, studying the list of treats like they held the mysteries of the universe.

"I thought so too. I was teaching young demons classes on love before I came here," she said with a bright smile.

Oh...

"Uhm well... It's a long story, but angels were involved in trying to battle the Netherworld. I wanted to confront Lamington-sama about what happened to verify what happened, but when we got to Celestia...," she paused for a moment. "Angels attacked us saying we infiltrated heaven and that I was a traitor for helping Laharl-san and Etna-san."

"Everything was sorted out, but in the end, we had harmed other angels in the process of trying to get there and for that I had to be punished. I don't mind though. I understood what would happen to me," she said.

"So Lamington-sama turned me into my favorite flower, but then I woke up a little later and suddenly I had these wings and this tail."

Well that's a bit to take in! Although Lucy thinks teaching young demons about love is terribly terribly cute. When Flonne got to the part about angels versus the Netherworld though, she frowned slightly.

"Still, that seems so unfair-" Or at least a very drastic punishment. "You really don't mind what happened?" Could Lucy say the same if their roles were reversed? ...... ....actually, probably. She didn't have it in her to be resentful - not without a really good reason anyhow. "So youwere.. I guess you were reborn like that?" Still cute too!

"Well... I'm sorry you had such a tough time, but I'm glad I have the opportunity to meet you now."

"I don't. I knew what would happen and I was okay with being punished. Lamington-sama wouldn't do anything too harsh," she insisted.

"I really haven't been told about why I became a fallen angel or how. Every time I asked Etna-san or Laharl-san, they'd just ignore the question all together or bring up something else," she let out a deep sigh.

"It's okay though. I'm glad to have met Laharl-san and Etna-san," she said with a smile, "I'm glad to be able to meet you too."

Lucy paused, deciding to change the subject - Laharl and Etna cleared seemed to know more about this than Flonne herself did. Why they didn't seem to tell her details on her state now though seemed a little strange, though. Protecting her from the truth maybe.

"So, um..! How are you liking the ice cream?"

That's actually it. Laharl will never admit to becoming a prinny for her sake (although Laharl is from a different time where that didn't happen). A tsundere is not about to admit that he rose hell and nearly killed Lamington because he thought that Flonne was dead. Etna just wants to protect her from the truth.

"It's delicious," she said with a smile. "So how about you and Natsu-san? How did you guys meet?" she asked.

Lucy can be pretty perceptive when she wants to be! Just like Natsu tends to be perceptive more often than people give him credit for.

Smiling that Flonne liked the chocolate, and then brought up one of her favorite topics. Natsu! ...er, that is, Fairy Tail. Yes. That. "Well, it's always been my dream to join Fairy Tail, since I was a little girl. I met Natsu kind of by chance; there was a guy calling himself the Salamander in town, casting a charm spell on a bunch of girls, and... I was caught up in it. At least until Natsu interrupted the scene because that guy was pretending to be a wizard from the guild and tarnishing its name."

She grinned absently, "I treated him and Happy to lunch by way of thanking him - they really eat a lot - and it's kind of embarrassing how much I gushed to them about the guild then. I didn't even know they were wizards at that time. Then we went our separate ways again, and I ran into that Bora again. He tricked me into going with him to his yacht - said he'd get me into Fairy Tail, but when I got there I found out he was actually kidnapping women and selling them into slavery. I might have been with them, but amazingly, Natsu crashed in - literally." She giggles at the memory, her smile becoming more fond. "We beat him and his cronies, and afterwards, Natsu brought me to Fairy Tail, like I've always dreamed."

And she says that she had a lot to take in. She somehow managed to keep up with her though.

"Oh wow. That's interesting," she said. "It's a good thing Natsu-san came then."

Lucy nodded with a grin, "He's always there at the right time. I know I can always count on him, if ever I'm in trouble." She chuckles, "And it seems like we're always together, back home. Here too - it's not the first time we've found ourselves in another world. There was Edolas, and we found each other before too long. Then Exsilium, but it was a month before he arrived. And here...we arrived here together."

"That sounds wonderful. He must be very important to you then," she said with a smile.

Lucy grins fondly, nodding, "Of course! He's my best friend, and my partner, after all." Teammate Flonne. TEAMMATE though. Not... like.. anything more than that. Really. "We've been through a lot together."

Woops! Too late!

"You seem to like him more than that," Yep. She's caught on already.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo er, that is, yes. But NOooo Lucy chokes on her mouthful of ice cream, blushing fiercely. Augh brain freeze!

"W.. what? Nonono, we're friends, that's all! Really!" Except she's really really red. Like the color of strawberry ice cream.

If that doesn't make it obvious, nothing else will.

"Really? Is that why your face is the color of your ice cream?" she asked, giggling happily.

Still coughing, Lucy stared at Flonne. "E-eeh? That'.. that's just because..." Um. Because she was...choking on her ice cream? Because she's part chameleon? Because she's in so much denial?

And yet, she's still giggling. "Isn't love a wonderful thing?" she asked.
