8TH BARK | TASTE TESTING | VIDEO/ACTION
[Toby flicks on the screen standing behind what looks like a rustic bar.]
Hey. [He sort of sucks at using these stupid video things and he'll always forget to introduce himself.] I'm about to open a place and we're going to have custom beers.
Before that I need people to come taste them and tell me what they like or don't like about them. [He likes to get straight to the point.]
Address is listed below.
[Without much more to say the video flicks off.]
[OOC: Toby will be at his unopened, unfinished Tavern. For those who come to taste you'll find him standing behind the bar with an annoyed look on his face. There are also a few papers out with menu's listed on them and puns scratched in messy writing next to each item.]

video;
...You're Tobias Allaway, aren't you?
video;
Don't fucking call me that.
[He doesn't usually swear, the habit that been worked out of him after being around his siblings all the time but his siblings were older and he'd been hanging out with Clay to much.]
Who are you?
video;
[He doesn't look shaken, though. If anything, he looks amused.]
Charles Rieben. I know your father.
video;
Okay.
[He has no idea what to say to that since he hasn't spoken to his father in over twenty years. Even after finding both of his parents again he's yet to say anything other than proving that he was in fact Toby.]
video;
video;
I wouldn't know.
[Toby runs his fingers through his hair while releasing a slow breath. He really doesn't want to talk about his father. He'd finally escape all that awkwardness when he arrived here. His family is safe, that's all that matters to him.]
We haven't spoken since- [He shrugs.]
video;
I see. Well, you seem to be doing well for yourself. Perhaps I'll pop in.
video;
I'll keep a look out.
[Sort of.]
video;
video;
[Living up stairs had it's perks.]
video;
[I'm curious if your talent for stringing together flavors is as well-developed as your father's. I'm also curious about other things...like where you've been the last 20 years...]
action;
[And true to form, Charles does show up that evening, his senses first confirming the man in charge of this establishment is indeed related to Gus, but also noting there's a female scent that's strong in this place, and intermingled in a very certain way.
Tobias, Toby, was claimed. Here? Interesting. As they seem to have closed up shop, being that they're not officially opened, Charles gives a gentle rap on the door frame.]
action;
Come in.
[He doesn't talk very loud but his voice carries easily to the door. Toby's behind the counter absently wiping a glass though it's clearly already dry. When Charles steps inside he'll be met with a glare from Toby.
He doesn't care if they know his father; he hates vampires.]
action;
Have I offended you in some way?
action;
[He half growls the words. Of course his father would be friends with a goddamn vampire.]
Do you even need to drink?
[His tone is flat and while he isn't going to kick Charles out, he will brood about the fact that he's there.]
action;
[He smiles.]
Of course we do.
action;
I meant something other than blood.
[He spat the last word feeling his anger and hate twist in his stomach. He knows that Cas might get upset at him but Toby isn't throwing Charles out which at the moment is the best that he can manage.]
action;
[He narrows his eyes for a moment, then approaches the bar.]
So. Which of us wronged you so deeply?
action;
[He has to bite the inside of his cheek to stop himself from tacking asshole to the end of his sentence. He really hates this, he hates this vampire, he hates that his father is friends with him, he hates this stupid situation and he hates how he can't just throw the bastard out.
After a second he moves behind the counter pouring Charles a glass of water and placing on the bar.]
If you're staying your sitting.
action;
[He frowns, though, taking into consideration Toby's words.] Amadeus. You were taken all those years ago, I assume?
action;
[Now that he's chosen to sit Toby begins to fill a glass about an inch high with the five beers he currently has. He places them softly down on the counter, in a perfect row in front of Charles.
Toby doesn't believe this task requires words.]
action;
[The fragrances of the beers mingle as Toby pours them, and he takes a moment to shift the focus of his sense of smell from each in turn, to differentiate their flavors before choosing the first, taking a small sip, making certain to taste the foam as well as the body of the brew. It was a brilliant lager, in all honesty, full-bodied, robust, coating his tongue as he swilled it around his mouth. He raises his eyebrows in surprise.]
Most brilliant, Toby. Nutty, but with a hint of fruit. Smooth yet profound. Your father would be proud.
action;
Toby turns away hoping that his discomfort didn't show on his face. The only problem is that Charles is a goddamn vampire which means he could have probably heard the sharp intake of air and the subtle change in his heartbeat that occurred a half second after his remark.
Toby fucking hates vampires and the fact that Charles is the first one out of those tasting to give him a goddamn opinion about it that was more specific than 'its good'.]
action;
Forgive. In the future, I'll refrain from speaking of your father. You're a rather impressive brewman in your own right, Toby.
action;
[He isn't about to tell Charles what he's saying thank you for and it'll probably be the only time that Charles ever hears Toby say that word. Toby really is grateful. He doesn't like talking about his father, even with Cas, though it does come up infrequently.]
