14: Operation (Open Action, over several days/weeks)

WHO: Chopper Tony Tony (tonytonychopper), Trafalgar Law (getaroom), Adela (enchantressofore), and OPEN
WHEN: Pre-Op, Surgery - August 22nd. Post-Op, Recovery - August 22nd-29th. Aftermath - August 30th onward.
WHERE: Pre-Op, Surgery, Post-Op - Genessia Hospital. Aftermath - EVERYWHERE
WHAT: Thanks to the arrival of a surgeon who makes this procedure a heck of a lot easier, surgery date has been moved up and a certain red head is going to walk on two legs once more!
NOTES: Pre-Op is closed to familiar CR only. People Adela has met more than twice will likely be contacted over it, though if you're not sure feel free to ask me over plurk or private message. Post-op is more open as it's more reasonable that people who know her might have heard through word of mouth via other close CR of hers. Aftermath is open to outright everyone. No warnings save for possible potty-mouth, will change as needed.

"Under what?" She seemed confused at the question, though the gift did bring a smile and she nodded to him, "I am sure I will be allowed something like that during my recovery, which is good as it will seem that I will be stuck here for quite some time."

"Under..." Namur trailed off, finger rubbing under his gills. "Huh. Hell if I know. 'S jus' what they say. Means when they start cuttin' y' up an' shit. Knock y' out so y' sleep through it usually. Anyway, 's gonna be fine. Docs're pirates an' that means they're good at workin' shit out on the fly if somethin' goes sideways."

"Oh... No, I will not be sedated. I will be conscious during the procedure -- I am needed to be, because I need to be able to respond to commands."

She looked away from Namur then, unsure of whether or not she wanted to see the other's reaction to that, "I have been promised that, thanks to Trafalgar's expertise, it will not hurt? Even if it will though, I knew of what it would mean from the start."

Namur chuckled.

"Well damn," he breathed. "Hardcore."

He didn't know a thing about Law's ability, honestly, so he had a hard time believing she wasn't going to feel pain. But he didn't say it.

"Yer a hell of a fighter, sweetheart. Needa yell at someone while they're doin' it, gimme a ring, aye?"

"I shall keep it in mind if need be," Adela couldn't help chuckling, shaking her head before leaning back into the bed again, "I... I am not sure if I would say I am entirely ready, but I knew that was what it meant even before Law spoke to me over it and became involved. If not now, then when?"

"Yeah. Gonna be weird for me seein' y' without the chair, though. Y's already in it when I got here," Namur mused. He clicked his tongue. "Anyway, stick 'round much longer'n I'mma start gettin' hungry. Keep this place clean but there's still a lotta blood floatin' 'round in the air, an' some other shit makes me wanna sneeze."

He drops his hand on the top of her head, messing up her hair.

"Be strong, aye?"

"Aye, I will," Adela couldn't help the laugh, not really minding the mussing of her hair that time because it wasn't done up or anything of the like. That and... Well, the gesture was a comfort.

"I will be happier without the chair, I can assure you. I did arrive here with two legs, and I would rather have two again."
