WHO: Chopper Tony Tony (
tonytonychopper), Trafalgar Law (
getaroom), Adela (
enchantressofore), and OPEN
WHEN: Pre-Op, Surgery - August 22nd. Post-Op, Recovery - August 22nd-29th. Aftermath - August 30th onward.
WHERE: Pre-Op, Surgery, Post-Op - Genessia Hospital. Aftermath - EVERYWHERE
WHAT: Thanks to the arrival of a surgeon who makes this procedure a heck of a lot easier, surgery date has been moved up and a certain red head is going to walk on two legs once more!

PRE-OP, AUGUST 22ND

Adela just sighed as she waited... Well, in the waiting area. It wasn't the outside waiting room, she had already changed into hospital robes and was laying in a comfortable bed for the moment. It was angled so she could sit up in it, and she knew she could have her... Family? Her close friends visiting, but it didn't make her any less nervous about the whole thing. After all... What Law could do? Though she knew it likely was all real, it still sounded too good to be true.
That and... Would it work? Would it fail? She was excited, but it felt like she was going to throw up at the same time. Mostly because of nerves, she was still waiting for an anti-nauseant shot to kick in as well. At least that was what she was told it was called.
Ugh. What she would give for her nerves to just leave her for now...

"Relax, he's top notch. Both of them are. But Law was reattaching animal limbs to people all the time. One of his coworkers was even called Harpy Monet, because he gave her wings and bird legs."
A quiet hum. "Plus, he even swapped mine and Tashigi's entire bodies once. So this should be something he could do in his sleep."
no subject
Instead she looked up to the ceiling, sighing and squeezing his hand because she did appreciate him being there and his presence was a comfort, "It... It feels hard to believe that it is happening so soon. That we have truly gotten this far."
no subject
"Want to play a word game? To take your mind off it?" He gently squeezed her hand back.

Okay, a lot of cursing.
If there's a sign on the wall by the door indicating that you have to use the intercom to get access, Namur didn't read it. He just saw doors. Since they don't have handles, obviously you push, or they'll open on their own.
Well, they didn't open on their own.
"Oi..."
So he tries pushing, but they won't open. So he pushes them a lot, rattling the hinges.
"Nothin'. Damn."
It's at this point that Namur finally looks around, wondering if he's in the wrong place, and sees the intercom. A few seconds after telling the nurse in rather colorful terms that he'd really like the doors open, please, he strides through, taking a deep breath and then snorting it out through his nose quickly. Hospital air stings. But he found out which direction he needs to go in to find Adela and makes his way over to her. He whistles when he gets close.
"Damn girl, check that designer gown. Gonna have the boys swoonin' in no time, eh? Sheheheheheh!"
no subject
Her palm clapped against her forehead when she figured out what was going on, and she couldn't stop herself from blushing as she looked to him again, "That is not funny Namur, they make everyone here wear similar garments."
After that she had to assure the nurse that yes she knew Namur and no he wasn't threatening her and yes he is a friend he's allowed to visit. It took a while before she could send the frazzled worker on their way, and when she was done she smiled for the fishman before her.
"'tis good to see you here, Namur. I wish I could tell you that everything is going to go perfectly fine, but honestly I should not say such a thing until it is all said and done."
no subject
"Think they'll letcha wear headphones when y' go under?" Namur asked, rummaging with one hand through a small sack he'd brought in. He pulled out a small pair of headphones, designed to fold up neatly, and a cheap mp3 player. "Brought y' some good beats, help y' pass the time."

He smiles at her, holding a wiggly happy puppy in his arms.
"Guess who wanted to say hi."
Ash struggles to get at her, fluffy paws churning the air, but Ace holds on firmly as he brings the dog over for Adela to pet.
no subject
She managed a smile, reaching to pet the whining pup and laughing when she feels him licking her hand. The little hint of normalcy was appreciated, though she didn't say so right away. It wasn't just Ash's company she appreciated, either.
"I do not think dogs would normally be allowed in this part of the hospital, though."

That said, he wasn't expecting any complications nor was he expecting to have any trouble with it. It would take a bit more time than he would like due to the mechanical nature of the procedure, but all in all he expected it to go off without a hitch.
He's already talked to both Chopper and Adela about how he would approach the surgery and how it would be done and he's spent the better part of the morning getting ready for it. Now all that he had to do was make sure his patient was ready.
Law quietly pulls back the curtain, already decked out in scrubs, and watches her carefully.
"I'd like to go over the procedure with you once more before we get started," and then after a moment of consideration, "And if you have any last minute questions now is the time."

The anti-nauseant she'd taken was probably the only reason she wasn't sick entirely, to be honest, and the fact that they'd gotten there...
"The sooner it is done, the better," If only so that she didn't have to dwell on it anymore.

Chopper was seriously not used to treating patients outside their residences or from the cramped confines of a ship. And since neither the Merry nor the Sunny had the amount of room a land-based hospital had, he's going to feel the need to check up on the various areas every few minutes during the hour before the actual surgery.
In his smallest and most brainiac form. So very sorry, there will be a blue-nosed chibi poking his face in for the third time in probably ten minutes.

It was after that when Adela slumped, leaning forward a little with a bit of a worried frown pulling at her lips, "Is everything all right, Doctor?"
no subject
He'll trot over towards Adela with a very sheepish expression. "Sorry, sorry... It's all fine! I've just never had to monitor more than two rooms for a procedure before..." And he'll just be hefting himself up to perch on the chair next to the bed with a sudden grin. "This place is like a navy land hospital, it's so big! Even on the Sunny I only have two rooms for everything!"

POST-OP & RECOVERY, AUGUST 22ND-29TH
Immediate Post-Op because lol sedatives
Her leg wasn't connected anymore for the time being, but the port was another matter. She leaned up, running her fingers along the top of the blanket on her and gingerly touching the warm metal then attached to her stump. She couldn't help wearing a delirious smile, confirming once again that it had been successful. It had really happened.
When she flopped back against the bed she saw the dark curtains opening a little, and she turned to blink at it and at who was pulling it back.

Because that is how you say hello, right?
He's honestly in phoenix form in case either doctor is around. Not that they wouldn't recognize him, especially since he already said hello to Chopper before, but still. It's the principle of the thing.
So he hops up and peers at her.
"How are you feeling, Cardinal?"
no subject
She was sore, tired, probably a little dehydrated by that point too (though only a little as someone had thought to keep her on an IV to help keep her fluids up at first). There was still something cheering her up though, and it wasn't just that the procedure on her leg had been a complete success.
When she tried to speak again, her words were just a little slurred and incomplete -- it was hard to think and speak properly when her mind was still fogged as it was, "... Do no' think I could be happier, though... Went great, and is done..."
AFTERMATH, AUGUST 30TH ONWARD
Garden Park, as soon as she's figured out how to walk well enough because who needs rest
Adela was laying on the grass in garden park then, looking up at the sky with the biggest grin pulling at her expression. There was no wheelchair or even a crutch in sight, and she actually wore two shoes instead of just one. It was still disorienting to feel the weight of it, but she also felt absolutely giddy. She was excited. She was happy. And nothing, repeat, nothing, could bring her down.
The thought prompted a giggle at first, and then she started to laugh. Tears formed at the corners of her eyes while that happened. She actually walked to the train station and then to Garden Park, and it was hard, and she tripped several times trying to make her leg function the way it should, but she did it. She raised an arm to cover her eyes, knowing she was crying even as she laughed out of the overwhelming joy she felt then. At that time, she couldn't think of any other day in her life having been happier.
The short version was that there was a short red-headed girl laying on the grass laughing and crying at the same time. Have fun.
Here he comes to wreck the daaaaay~
Today it was a strange, feminine voice being caught up in something wild. Sorrow? Joy? It sounded like both at once. It was a rare combination that he had felt once or twice in his life, and it inflamed his curiosity. He ran towards the sound.
It was Adela. His visceral senses lagged behind his mental ones, per usual, and all he took in for the moment was her and the mysterious significance. He wasn't sure whether to interrupt it. But his own nature got the better of him, and he decided to break into things. Officious altruism was his best policy, or the best he knew.
"Adela, is something the matter?"
Ted can't wreck this day xD;
She sat up and made to get to her feet then. Hopefully, that would be enough to explain why she couldn't have possibly been better then.
oh ye of little faith

He spied the familiar red hair girl, Adela, and he came closer, waving to her.
"Adela, hello!" He said, greeting her, now that she's a familiar face to the priest.
no subject
She sat up, turning to meet his eye and to wave back. It was still a little difficult, but she made to get to her feet - yes to her feet - with probably the brightest smile she could muster.
"'tis good to see you again!"
