🌙 first moon | [video/action]
Such an odd realm.
[A sound of distaste leaves Tsukihito one he glances down to the strange device he found when he first awoke. It looked something like a black stone to him. The surface was smooth and shiny much like jade but dark as opal. He held onto this awkward contraption after meeting with the woman by the pier.
The woman in white explained meticulously how to work this alleged communicator but Tsukihito has yet to try.
That is until now.]
Ah? [In a sudden flash, there's a pair of crimson eyes peeking into the screen.] It seems to be...working.
[There's an awkward pause as the boy (wait, is it a boy? Such a child-like face) shifts the camera a little. Besides his face and the tall fox-like ears upon his head, there's not much to see here. However, an acute onlooker might be able to spot the Guardian Pagoda in the distance.
The youth is clearly in Fayren.]
Leaves blowing in the wind, a traveler lost in a city made of wood.
[A quiet sigh leaves him as he carelessly tosses the communicator away in a fit of silent rage. The device thankfully doesn't break from the fall but the screen is a tad scuffed up now.
It keeps recording but there's nothing else to see other than the darkening sky.]

it's a priest on a bike
Oh? Did somebody dropped this?
[He picked it up, and he noticed the strange, mystical looking Being.]
Ah, excuse me sir? You dropped this.
Get a motorcycle, abel!
A stone cast aside often doesn't return.
[His gaze lingers upon the communicator briefly. The kitsune let's out a deep sigh. He threw the said "stone" away in a moment of frustration if nothing else. Everything about his current plight frustrates him. Tsukihito haven't known peace since awakening in that dreary cave.]
Clearly this is no stone.
[He offers his hand to towards the priest. Even though they might be decades apart, the kitsune can just sense that the man before him is some kind of...monk.]
You have my gratitude.
*sticks with the bicycle*
[Well, the only noise his bicycle makes is the sweet chime of a bell to warn pedestrian to move away.]
Well, yes! You will need this if you want to talk to other people or you need to call others for help for emergencies. This device is not a stone, but a phone, a type of computer.
[He hands it to him easily like that. It's just a phone.]
If you break it, you have to a buy another and get your name registered again. Which is a pain, believe me.
[Well, Abel took good care of his phone. It just that in the long distant past when he's a bad boy, he's used to breaking things and being forced to pay for it.
...a very failed monk, but at least he has no knowledge of exorcisms or doesn't care to learn.]
You're welcome! I'm Father Abel Nightroad. I um...I hope it's not rude to ask, but what are you? You're not the first magical being I met. I met a dragon a while back. There's a lot of magical creatures in Fayren.
*eye roll* so uncool~
This man might as well be speaking gibberish to Tsukihito. The kitsune doesn't hail from a realm where such devices are commonplace. If anyone other than a holy man found this discarded phone, it surely would've never been returned.]
I see. [He plucks the phone out of the monk's hand and eyes it with a frown. There's scratches on it. Faint ones.] A lackluster tool.
[Tsukihito pockets the phone within the sleeve of his white robes before glancing back at the priest again.]
Father Abel Nightroad? [He arches his brow a little at that name. So Foreign.] Ah, do I seem unwell?
[Such a forward man. Tsukihito isn't used to this kind of scrutiny. Then again, he normally takes enough care not to be seen by mortals.]
A dragon, here? Odd.
no subject
[Abel nodded.]
Yes, a tool. Let me show you.
[Abel is going to take about the next 20 minutes to orient him in how to use it and take care of the phone, and that includes charging the battery.]
See, easy like that! Don't loose it, okay?
[He smiles.]
Yes, a dragon, so there are creatures such as yourself in this realm.
no subject
Ah, my...thanks. [He smiles somewhat. Despite the priest's quirkiness, Abel certainly has his usefulness.]
I haven't had the pleasure of exploring much of Fayren.
no subject
Fayren is a friendly city, full of mythical creatures. I believe I seen a few faeries or elves along the way. They didn't like me at first, but I try to teach peace for all, they're okay with it.
There are other cities too, but the one you should be careful is Everglade. That's where creatures of darkness like demons and vampires reside, and they have their own laws cater in protecting their own kind.
no subject
[Tsukihito scrunches up his nose in distaste.
The priest's description of it reminds me greatly of the Underworld. The beasts that loom within the darkness are particularly foul spirits that have yet to find peace. This much Tsukihito knows due to his past experience with them.
The Everglade seems no different.]
I shall steer clear of such darkness for I have need to visit it. [He frowns a little.] The...creatures of this realm are quite distrustful of outsiders. Despite my similar appearance, they aren't fond of me.
no subject
Yes, that particular city. Not a popular place to live, so I heard. It was covered with so much fog too. Talk about creepy! Most of the residents there just want to live in peace.
I believe if you take the time to become familiar with the laws, it should be all right. Perhaps you never have to deal with them.
So, anyway. Do you have any questions?
no subject
[There's an obvious hint of curiosity in his words. Tsuhikito is honestly eager to learn more about this world but in his own pace.]
The allure of peace is plentiful. I wouldn't dare disrupt it.
[A lie.]
I would question whether or not we can return from whence we came but I know the answer of that.
no subject
[Because when you're desperate for money, but you have to go to a dangerous neighborhood.]
For now, I really don't know? I do know death is possible in this place.
no subject
Why would Death not be possible here?
[This helpful priest has him raising his brow a little.]
no subject
[Please not dying, not again.]
no subject
[That's not exactly what he meant by his earlier comment. The priest made it seem as if "death" itself is a concept foreign to this world. If there's life, there's also death. That is the way of things.]
To say there's Death here is to state the obvious. All things must die in due time.
[Except for him. Tsukihito is or rather "was" eternal.]
Abel, what deity do you pray to?
no subject
[It's really complicated bruh. Abel also have another complication.]
Well, that require a beginner class with me when I have an opening in my schedule. It's a long story, and probably a mythology you wouldn't like. My religion has a long [really boring story and I make money out of it, no shame] history with humankind in my world.
I just call Him God and I believe in the goodwill of fate, but I'm well aware other deities and supernatural exists, and don't refute their power. I just let it be.
no subject
[That last bit wins a chuckle from Tsukihito but he's polite enough to cover his mouth as he laughs.]
Ah, the mind of a mortal. No need to trouble yourself on such grand thoughts. I'm certain all the deities of heaven are grateful nonetheless for such diligence on your part.
[He lowers his hand and bows politely before the priest.]
I am---[He pauses briefly as he chooses how to introduce himself.] Yukimura Tsukihito, a practitioner of the Shinto faith. [A lie, a major lie.] I do not believe I gave you my name until now.
My apologies for that.
no subject
[And anyway being 976 years old, Abel doesn't think much of the divine powers. Praying helps, dealing his suppose limbo on the Earthly realm.
Better to lie, as Abel lives a lie too, but of a different nature. Better be polite, as for now, Abel has been polite and helpful to him, but pretty much a worthless human in the long run.]
Oh no need to apologize! Shinto...that's Japan, isn't? Ah, well, you're going find yourself in good company here, if you know where to look
[Abel never been to Japan, and he's recalling lost knowledge of his world's history from 900 years ago.]
no subject
[Such an unusual man. Tsukihito is at a loss for words. This one here claims to be a priest but he seems not be completely devoted to the Gods. No, he seems more devoted to his own creed than to the Celestial Father.
A quiet sigh leaves the kitsune. He feels oddly obsolete now.]
To think that man can look to the stars and not seek out the heavens--[He thinks aloud in a quiet mumble.] I suppose I should know humility in a world so foreign.
[He closes his eyes briefly before opening them again.]
Nippon. [The kitsune quickly corrects. He doesn't know what this 'Japan' stuff is but he knows of Nippon.] Good company? What do you mean by that?
Is there others here hailing from my realm?
no subject
Nippon...? [Okay, must been another name for Japan. The more you know!] All right. I admit, I forgot my history lessons. I came from the land of the west called England, though where I'm from, it's called Albion.
[There are plenty of mortals who don't believe in the higher forces of the celestial realm. Abel is devoted to the Father, but probably not the same definition of the Celestial Father in Tsukihito's perspective.]
I'm not sure. I wanted to ask, but most of them kept to themselves. A lot of them...don't like humans much.
And um, anyway, there's enough money in your box which is more than enough to spend a month in a nearby inn with a nice room. The key you have, it's for Genessia Commonspace where room is free for rent for one month, but the room is much smaller and quite cramp.
no subject
[The kistune hails from a time period where entire known world was just Japan itself. He's ignorant of other cultures and the people hailing from these far off lands.]
I cannot say I'm particularly fond of humans either.
[
Ugh, the arrogance...]I find 'man' to be the most destructive beast in nature. Quite boorish and brutish with only a sliver of good in their hearts but I digress.
[He scrunches up his nose at the thought of living within a common space with others.]
The forest shall be my domain.
Video
[The soft female voice rings over the communicator.]
Are you okay?
[The crack keeps messing with Airy's eyes, making it seem like something is splitting her vision. The dark night is pretty though she wonders who it is that's tossed their phone away. The safe assumption is someone new though that isn't always the case.]
no subject
Someone is there? [He questions as he peers into the screen.] Oh, well greetings.
no subject
Oh. Hello. [She forces her lips into a smile though it might look a little awkward. She'd been worried but he looks fine.] Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you.
Are you okay? I mean you through your phone. I wasn't sure- are you new?
[Maybe she can help? Though it'll be awkwardly.]
no subject
So I am expected to keep this...thing?
[He picks it up with no fuss and starts brushing off the tiny speckles of dirt on the screen.]
Yes, I am. I cannot say I know of this realm but I believe the name is Fayren.
no subject
[Airy really has no idea what to call it but it's something like that.]
Ah, well Fayren is one of the archways. Are you near town? Do you need anything?
action;
[A blue haired man happened to be standing in an open area a few feet away, having overheard the newcomer's words. He had been practicing magic, saber out and holding a few magically charged card-like talismans in his other hand.]
I'm afraid I can't supply much in the way of information, but I'm willing to offer whatever aid if you need it.
Re: action;
It's then that the kitsune's expression turns sour.]
Do you normally greet others with your sword drawn?
no subject
I apologize. I was simply practicing not a few moments ago before I heard you.
no subject
All is forgiven.
[The kitsune response with a touch of aloofness in his tone.
Tsukihito is confident that he could vanquish this man if the introductions turned sour. Although, it wouldn't be wise to shed blood on such a wonderful day. That would be particularly foul of him.]
Are you are native of this world?
no subject
No. I was brought here against my will like many others. Yourself included if I'm not mistaken?
no subject
You are correct. [He answers quietly.] It seems we share a common plight here in this foreign land.
The two of us are strangers.
no subject
[Mostly because he has duties at home, and he never likes to have Mobius out of his sight for more than five minutes. And not being able to use his vision magic for that very reason is enough of a stressor for him.]
Unfortunately, we supposedly do not have a way home either. Or at least, no way that anyone has found yet.
no subject
[This is an important question for Tsukihito. One that will either cement his stay in this world or force him to seek an escape.]
If not, what happens to those who linger here?
no subject
[While he would like to go back home to where he belongs, his stay has been far too short so far to be able to make any of his own progress.]
The best we can do until then is settling into this world as best we can. Most of us need to seek employment so we can have a place of our own to stay for however long we may remain here.
[He isn't really thrilled with having to give that kind of answer, but it's a reality that needed to be accepted to make things easier.]
no subject
Unable to return to the realm he was banished from, Tsukihito is at a total loss. What should he do here in Genessia? Should he attempt to live peacefully among the mortals like some average citizen or should he run off to the thick forests of Fayren for the sake of seclusion? |
He doesn't know.]
The forest shall be my domain lest I tire of it.
