[CLOSED] [backdated to August 5]
Who: Namur and Koishi
What: A BOUNTY
When: August 5 (haha yes a month ago-ish)
Where: Everglade!
Warnings: Excessive swearing, others added as necessary
Well.
Shit.
When Namur offered to hire someone to act as bait for a kidnapper, he did expect them to wind up in the bastard's net, it's true. That part went exactly according to plan. Koishi really was perfect for the job. Hot damn, but that li'l yokai could turn on the cute and defenseless like you wouldn't believe. But something that hadn't been mentioned was that all of the prior abductees were, in a word, inhuman. Namur baited the hook with not one worm, but two, it turns out, and now they were both neatly bound and gagged and headed to hell knows where in the back of an old fashioned horse-driven hearse. Of course the roads in Everglade are paved with uneven cobblestone. Of course Namur's nearly too big to fit in the damn thing on his own, let alone with someone else shoved in with him. And of course his own spit is beginning to make it more difficult to actually cut the gag in his mouth with his teeth. He's also a little high because whatever tranquilizer they hit him with, they weren't screwing around. Finally he manages to shear through the last bit of cloth, even if at some point he'd begun thinking of his tongue as a striped sea snake that was helping him out. But what the hell. It worked, didn't it?
"Oi, Braineater. Y' dead?"
That was probably a dumb question, but she ought to know what he meant.

Actually it might have worked too well.
Whatever drug used was magic in nature, disrupting Koishi's form slightly and making her woozy. It was a wonder her nature didn't erase her from the kidnapper's mind before she was tossed into a truck along with Namur. It didn't last long though, fortunately, Koishi growing more and more aware of how the ropes around her wrists and arms burned and the acrid taste filling her mouth. The ropes used on her were thin. Silk even. But they were wound tightly and decorated with numerous paper seals which dulled her physical power and youki and narrowed her awareness to scarcely beyond herself. To make matters worse, her human guise was completely broken. Carnivorous teeth visible around the gag coupled with blackened sclera and a much leaner overall structure. Every bump caused her left eye to flicker some, threatening to go out.
She was not going anywhere.
She remained still for now, letting the vibrations of the uneven road wear the seals between her body and the walls of the hearse. They probably wouldn't rip completely before the journey was at its end though. Fortunately, Namur seemed to have woken up. She made a muffled sound. Her fingers were unbound but trying to grab the gag would no doubt burn her.

She didn't smell good. Namur didn't know much- or, anything, really- about her species, but he could tell her scent had changed and not for the better.
He gave his bonds another shot, but they tied him up with some of the same stuff, and it was annoying. Too flexible to overpower, but too thin and tightly wound to rip. Someone had put a lot of thought into this. Alright, so that was going to be pointless, too. Time to see if helping others would ultimately help himself.
Namur moved and shifted again, bigger motions this time, not just wriggling.
"Sssorry if I getcha, sss- sssweetheart," he whispered, the sound of the Ses making his mouth tickle. Probably because of the sea snake. Namur choked down a laugh, and hoped it knew how to keep from getting cut on his teeth, otherwise they were going to have a mess. Still, probably best to try and avoid the tickle sounds. "Tryna get my legsssssssssheheheheh shit! One leg two leg...sss... under me."
Lord of the Sea, he hoped the drugs would wear off quick. Namur decided that was enough talking and really focused on getting up. No small feat, with one's arms tied behind their back, one's ankles tied together, and a person on top of them. But eventually, he managed to at least get somewhat upright with enough maneuvering room to lay his cheek against hers and carefully gnaw through the gag.

When he leaned forward, however, it only took Koishi a moment to realize his intention. She leaned into his cheek, catching the gag on one of his teeth and jerking her head down, shearing about halfway through. Two attempts later and the little youkai was shaking her head, spitting out the cloth. Her cheeks were badly burned, the side opposite Namur worse than the other. In addition one of his teeth had nicked her cheek, a line of blood trickling down her skin.
She coughed once flexing her jaw and sticking out her scalded tongue. Whomever had done this to them obviously knew exactly how to deal with youkai.
"It hurts... There's nothing to buffer me against these seals. I'm sorry Mister. If they burn up all my youki my aspects and corporal form will unravel... So I'm not going to move much right now, okay? I'd burn them up with an excess of power if I was back home, but I can't replenish that lost energy here very easily..."
no subject
"Don't worry 'bout it then," he whispered, the words feeling thick like fabric as they came out of his mouth. "Got more teeth. Jus' ain't got my arms. Probly kinda heavy. Don't scream."
Namur wasn't sure if he'd actually made sense, but he hoped enough of what he meant got through. He laid his chest over her torso and lifted his butt just enough to turn his legs the other direction. From there, he could sit up a little, taking his weight off of her, but he'd rearranged himself to have a little more downward mobility. It was probably a damned good thing he wasn't shy about touching women, because there would be quite a bit of contact between them before he finally managed to contort himself enough to bite at the silk ropes burning into her wrists.
no subject
"Wait... Wait!" Okay so she would have to move. some for this but it was potentially less painful and draining than actually having the ropes tugged and severed. "Are your hands bound too? Your fingers? Fresh knots are rarely hard to undo. And if you untie them you can break the seal without risking it hurting me." After all, her wrists had been bound in the front due to the way her upper arms had to be bound. Allowing Koishi to use her tentacles would have been counter productive to their captor's plans after all.
Already she was trying to carefully move without straining the ropes too much. if he could get any of the knots untied, arms or wrists, she would be able to get him untied fairly simply. In theory anyway.
no subject
He had to shift again, being extra careful to be as quiet as possible, in order to get his hands- and incidentally, his dorsal fin, have fun with that- facing her.
"Yer gonna have t' get the knots t' me though."
no subject
"Okay..." she rolled down, surprisingly quiet, though she did bump her nose on his fin. She brought her wrists up to his hands. "I'll tell you if you have the right rope. Just work slowly."
She would coach him very carefully, letting him find the part of the rope she wanted him to tug on his own usually rather than trying to direct the backwards, behind, flipped around confusion that would result from him having his hands behind his back. Koishi had been correct though. her lack of struggling had ensured the knot didn't end up very tight. And their captor was obviously not a sailor. The knot was loosened and undone rather quickly, Koishi taking her time to actually unwind her wrists and free them and her forearms.
Immediately she began working at his ropes. "Apologies if my claws get you." Though those claws would do wonders to actually undo the knot. "Once I get these you need to get the rest of my ropes." She still couldn't touch them. Barriers and sealing charms were the worst!
no subject
"Skin ain't fragile like a human's," he whispered. "Jus' get the damn thing off 'fore someone notices."
Before long, he was free, and working at the knots on her legs.
"So this shit burns y' when y' move? 'S messed up."
no subject
She visibly relaxed when the last ropes were removed, her eyes visibly brightening. She wasn't visibly healing or anything but she looked a lot better. "Thanks."
She took a deep breath, her fingers glowing faintly as she reached for the last of his ropes, grabbing them, the magic shearing through them easily. "I'm a little fatigued, but I'm also mad." She didn't look mad. "I want to rip him apart."
no subject
"Well y' can't yet. Gotta find the hideout an' see if there's anyone else kidnapped that ain't dead. Then y' can eat his brain or whatever, so long as y' leave 'im 'live 'nuff t' collect the bounty."
Priorities.
no subject
She was seriously considering this!
"Can't it just be enough that he's identifiable? Please?" She was restraining her power but Namur could feel it in that tight space. A deeply rooted horror that burrowed into his mind whenever he looked at the little youkai.
no subject
"Clamp it down, sweetheart. Gotta turn 'im in well 'nuff t' face trial, 'less the bounty specifically says dead's an option. An' this'n don't. Told me y' could do it, so I expect y' ain't so damn weak that y' can't even control yerself."
He was about to suggest she be patient and wait to eat him until after they'd been paid, but was interrupted by an emotionless, mechanical voice.
"It would be inconvenient for me if you rip out my core and unfulfilling for you if it is blood you seek."
Namur glanced up, then rolled his eyes and sat up, giving up the ruse. Their captor sat in the driver's seat still, but his head had swiveled around completely in order to look down at them, eyes faintly backlit in the darkness as their irises focused in and out at them like the shutters of a camera.
no subject
Hands curling again into claws, she clenched her teeth, her left eye flickering again. She flinched, reaching up and touching it just as a bead of blood rolled down her left cheek. Something must have broken inside of it.
"Inconvenient doesn't mater. If a human wants to hunt monsters they should have the courtesy to do it themselves and not build something to hunt for them."
She seemed less agitated though at least. Less blood thirsty. After all, a machine likely didn't have much of what she wanted.
no subject
"I do not currently serve a master. I have fulfilled my intended purpose, and I have exceeded it. Continuing to do so creates positive feedback and so I must persist. You are both new and unexplored species. I must catalog you. Please do not resist."
no subject
"Unexplored? I'm a youkai!" Koishi was scratching at the bottom of the car. "You knew that much. Such a dirty trick using seals and magic to bind me like that. There's so much metal in you pierced and trickling out! I'll rip you apart...!"
Somewhat of a pointless threat. Koishi knew she couldn't break through the divide into the cabin. She knew she couldn't break through metal. Wood and plastic? Much easier. But not metal. To make matters worse her conventional magic wasn't that powerful. Her psionics were but she didn't have a good angle for anything physical and normal psionics wouldn't work on a machine...
Eight million kami... What she wouldn't give for the shrine maiden's meddling right now.
no subject
"Please do not damage yourselves. You are precious information. It would be inconvenient to lose you. There may not be another opportu-"
Namur slammed himself into the divide again, this time head-first, the skin there turned a shiny black. He had gathered enough of his wits and his Will to control his Armament Haki. The more solid, directed hit put more pressure on a slightly weaker section, and there was an audible crack that certainly didn't sound like it came from Namur himself.
"Koishi," Namur said, moving as far back as he could, to give himself the most distance possible to build up momentum. "Take all his limbs off."
He charged again, skin coating itself in the inky blackness, and focused everything he had into slamming through the barrier. Who knew what he'd end up looking like on the other side? But it didn't matter, so long as he made a hole big enough for the little youkai to get through, it'd be enough. Namur impacted, and pushed his Will outward like a bullet. The barrier cracked some more, the veinlike splits glowing faintly as the material resisted for only a moment, then shattered around him, the very cells of the material overcome and torn apart. Namur flew forward, over the front seat and out the windshield, onto the hood of the old-fashioned but clearly high-tech vehicle. He'd missed their captor by only a few inches.

Drifting back, her aura darkened further, her body coiling as her toe touched the back door of the cabin, and released, she shot forward just as Namur broke through, one hand catching on the metal to make the sharp turn into the driver's side oaf the cabin, he tiny frame impacting their robotic captor. They hit the door hard enough to break it open. Straddling his ribs, her claws were already around his throat, tentacles winding aroudn the robot's arms, legs, torso head, mechanical joints groaning in protest as they were twisted. She was likewise summoning magic, thorny vines to bind him further to the ground. He would not be going anywhere.
She lifted his upper torso up once, slamming it back down into the ground, hissing something in Japanese. Her left eye had gone out completely, though the smell of blood was quickly being drowned out by the smells of burning fabric, hair, metal, and plastic. The air between Koishi and the robot had started to shimmer under the force of the small youkai's attempted psychic assault.
If he had a human mind, he would have undoubtedly be dead.
Already some smoke was fogging the lenses of the machine's eyes, though she hadn't done any real damage yet...

But she wasn't going for the legs or the arms, was she?
"Damn it... sweetheart..." why was forming words still so hard? "Need his head still! Don't put his light out!" Namur rolled himself off the front of the coach and somehow landed on his feet. Not that it did him muc good, since two steps later he managed to trip over his own feet. "Rip off his leg!"
