I think Pyrrha Nikos is gone.

[People are bound to find out on their own if they haven't already, but it needs to be said.]

[It's possible to run into Jaune in Nova City. He's not paying attention to his surroundings, and he might not notice someone he recognizes at first. And if he doesn't recognize them, then there's a disheveled teenager who looks like he hasn't shaved, much less changed his outfit in a week wandering around.]

Where are you?

[ Jaune was going to isolate himself even more if no one tried to stop him. There were other people who would, he was sure of it, but not trying himself was an option he didn't even entertain. Rather Jaune wanted him to or not Jefferson was going to do whatever he was able to and at the very least stand beside him. Even if he'd never met Pyrrha, he understood well enough what it was like to lose love. Jaune didn't deserve to go through that on his own. ]

[Of course Jefferson is worried. He's a good person and as far as Jaune is concerned, his brodad. He would worry. Jaune would be concerned if their situations were reversed.

Which is why he doesn't want him to see him like this. He's devastated, angry, and it's only because he has the time to reply over the phone that he doesn't snap at him. He considers not replying at all. He'd rather just convince everyone that he's fine and distance himself from the people he had come to rely on and find important than open up again. Or involve himself in more conflict because right now he might say something he regrets.

It takes him longer than usual to finally hit send.]

[Airy texts quickly and then gets ready to head out. She doesn't remember where Jaune lives so she's going to pick a direction and hope she's heading in the correct general area.]

[it's nothing against airy. but knowing jaune's luck he might run into airy either in nova city or genessia when he heads back to the inn.]

I'm sorry. Look Jaune, I know it's hard to lose a friend. It's hard to lose anyone but I don't think it's a good idea to be alone. Give me 5 minutes and if you still want to be alone then I'll leave.

[She doesn't want to be pushy but at the same time she's worried about him and she's really unsure of what to do.]

[ Jefferson wouldn't have been upset with Jaune if he had snapped. He really wouldn't. Those kind of reactions were justified. He did consider after a bit of time that Jaune might not respond, but patience was something important to have in these sort of situations. It wasn't... easy to open up when grieving. ]

Do you want to talk? Here or in person. You don't need to tell me about the bad things. I just want you to know I care and if you want someone around I'm here. I'm always here, Jaune.

then what is a good idea airy?

all i've ever done is watched as my friends are hurt, killed, or taken from this place. i'm tired of being unable to do anything. this isn't the first time pyrrha has left and even if i sacrificed everything she wouldn't be brought permanently back.

being alone sounds like the most reasonable option.

It feels like we can't do very much but when we give up it means we can do nothing at all. I know it's hard but when you're sad the friends you have will lift you up.

Even if we are all sad together we're at least together. I can't say I can help. I'm finding that I'm really bad at cheering people up but...

I learned a new dance. I thought maybe I could teach you? Just doing something together, something simple, because I know you make at least one person smile. Even if that doesn't mean as much in the long run. I'm really happy when you're around.

Wanting to be alone is fine, but saying things like that aren't going to push me away. I know that's what you want right now because closing yourself off seems safer, but it isn't. Hiding is only okay for a little while. If you do it forever it's only going to make your heart ache more and more.

i'm not trying to push you away. i'm telling you the truth. i thought this place could be a chance to get stronger and protect people. but i've been proven wrong, multiple times.

maybe the problem isn't just as much me as it is this place. but that doesn't change the fact that any of us could leave at any time and do nothing about it. i would have to be avoiding the truth in order to hide. i'm not hiding, not anymore. i'm just done with it.

Jaune's just going to receive a text back from Yang. All it'll say is.

'After Life Club. You want to go? I'll buy the drinks.'

No sense in getting smashed alone.

[ Weiss had been avoiding Jaune since the incident. It wasn't as if she blamed him- but humiliation wasn't a great color on her. She'd had Winter and Sun both making sure she was okay. When she saw the text though, the first thing Weiss did was head over to Jaune and Pyrrha's room- just Jaune's now. She knocked, raising her voice from the other side of the door. ]

[ If he's not there after the text post, she'll come back later to check up on him. ]

[he almost reaches the inn when he glances up from his phone at the wrong moment to notice the familiar blonde who looks like she's in a hurry.

he ducks into the nearest store and hopes she doesn't see him.]

You work there and they still make you buy the drinks?

[He doesn't want to be around other people, but getting smashed for free is tempting. And with Yang he knows it will be that simple. No talking or trying to figure any of this out.]

[Weiss wasn't the only one avoiding someone. Avoiding Weiss felt like it was normal now, and maybe that should have felt more wrong than it did, but it was still hard to face her in day-to-day conversations. Once he had spent some time by himself, he regretted ever mentioning the hair pin to her to begin with. He shouldn't have brought her into what happened during the dance. He only reminded her of the trauma she experienced.

So he doesn't take it personally--not on her end--and he doesn't expect to talk to her anytime soon. He's just going through his things when she knocks on the door, not responding at first before he replies hesitantly:]

You can still do those things, but you have to accept that you can't save everyone and not everything is in your control. Life... isn't that fair.
