[Action] - Awakening

[Nothing was more difficult than trying than trying to rouse from the sleep. A sleep brought on from intense emotional turmoil. A sleep as if her very life had escaped. A sleep filled with dreams of her surrounded by cat-like cubs pouncing on her, overlooked by a ferocious parent. A happy dream.

Arietta's grip weakly tightens, feeling the plush, comforting fabric of her fonic doll. Was she alive? Was she dead? She couldn't tell. She managed to weakly sit up. Something is on her lap? She managed to open her eyes to find the box.

One small question on her mind, "Who is it from?" She found necklace inside. How pretty. And a odd device. Some red papers? They look like money. It's not gald, for certain. Claiming the items, brochures included, she eases her way off the bed, or whatever this was, and out of the cave. Waking up in the cave wasn't the weirdest thing. It felt like home, but less foliage and monsters.

She was now awake enough to be aware of her surroundings. There was no such advanced city near the Cheagle Woods. The haze on her memory lifts... What is going on? Where are her friends? Largo? What about the duel with Anise? Clutching her doll tightly while holding on the items she found, she roams the city searching for her comrades, a forest with monsters, or any sort of clue. But to start, she tries to call for her monster friends...

...But nothing came... Arietta was all alone. Once more, everything was taken away from her.

She can't help but suspect that Anise is behind this. Anise is the origin of all her problems.]

"Largo? Where are you?"

[It was early morning in Fayren, when Jade woke up in the inn to head to the market, searching the boards for any new bounty. It doesn't make much money, but it would do for now, as Jade isn't in a particular hurry to fill up the bank.

With Arietta wandering in the city, presumably Genessia city, Jade happened to be in the city by the afternoon, waiting for new assignments to show up on the board.

He then noticed a familiar pink-haired girl wandering on the streets, calling for her monster friends in vain. Is it her? Someone from his world. Anyway, he approached her, wondering if they recognized each other.]

Arietta?

[Arietta stopped the moment she heard her name. A mature man's voice. Hopeful, she turned to see if it was one of her comrades in the Oracle Knights.]

"Largo? Lar--"

[The moment her eyes fell on him, she could feel a spear through her heart and ice fill her veins. Of all people, it was him. The monster to orchestrated Mommy's murder.

The icy chill passed and soon felt like fire.]


"...You..."

"Hm, so it is." Jade pushed up his glasses.

Not that she's going to believe him, but it's a worth try. Jade is being polite.

"Your comrades are not here. And this is not Aulderant."

"You lie. This is some trick to confuse me. But I won't fall for it."

[This city honestly does look like something that Malkuth could build, but she ultimately has no proof whether it is or isn't.]

[well, keeping his tone neutral.]

"All right then. You're in the world of Genessia. The box contains money for you, and the pendant is what you need to go through archways. Don't loose anything in that box, or your survival in this world is going to be very hard. Then no one will help you.

Reach the city of Fayren by nightfall, you probably find some beasts for friends there."

"Why are you telling me this? We're supposed to be enemies!"

[Doesn't he know she won't hesitate to sic those beasts on him?]

[He'll simply Mystic Caged them. He has no fear of those beasts.]

"This information is general enough for all. And besides, I think you'll survive better in the forests of Fayren."

[What more he can do than to allow time to prove it.]

"If you think of me as an enemy, there's only one of me."

[He's waiting for her to act. His red eyes staring her down.]

[Tempting. So very tempting. He's just standing there as if waiting for her to bring down a mighty hammer of retribution on him for every monster life he took, or helped take.

Slowly, Arietta approached Jade, her hands trembling as they clutch her doll. Just as it seems she was about to make a move, she stepped aside to pass.]


"If what you say is true, then a truce... Because... Because I think Ion would want that."

[jadedkill]

[Jade didn't make a move. He seems unimpressed by her meekness to move aside. What does that mean anything?

But that doesn't mean he's heartless.]

"Hm? So what of Ion? Are you looking for him too?"

[Ion is dead. Jade knew that as a fact, but he's questioning her to see what timeline she's from. For all he knows, he might come from her future.]

"Ion is dead... Because of Anise."

[Arietta continued on her way, hoping to get away from him before she changes her mind.]

[jadedkill]

"Ah. I see."

[Ion isn't here either, despite stories of people being brought back to life through sacrifice or simply arrival of entry in this world.]

"If you're looking for Anise, she isn't here. Like I said, in Genessia, there's only me. You're the second from our world."

[He's not going to stop her. With his hands in his pockets, he watched her walked away. He lets her go.]

[Good. The less of Anise anywhere is better for her.

Hopefully she's going in the right direction. She'll figure it out.]

[jadedkill]

"That's the wrong way, Arietta. And the city is not a suitable environment for you. You're a forest type, are you?"

[Hooray for Jade's skills of knowing people's weaknesses.]

"If you don't like cold nights, and you wish to live, follow me to the archway to Fayren at least. I'll even show you one of the inns where you can stay for the night."

"I lived in Daath, too."

[She knows how to handle both environments. Though the forest is the home she always knew.

She didn't want to accept his help. But she'll suffer his company just long enough to get somewhere where she can collect her thoughts. Arietta stopped her trek and waited for Jade to lead the way.]

[jadedkill]

"Yes, but there is no Daath here. You're off the planet and woke up on another."

[Yes, that's right follow Jade now to the archway. It wasn't much of a long trek.]

[That's crazy. You're crazy, Jade. Arietta refuses to comment further. But she certainly doesn't recognize the names Genessia or Fayren. So is there actually some truth?

How can she be sure if the only person telling her had a hand in her mother's death?

She does start inching closer to believing as they arrive at the archway. Nothing like this existed on Auldrant. Not to her knowledge, at least.]

"Use your pendant whenever you need to cross this gate. Don't loose it."

[And Jade disappeared to the gate, appearing on the other side, waiting for her to join him.]
