[Kobato seemed to be smiling, sitting down on a bench, newspaper to the side. Her two pokemon companions Piplup and Popplio sat beside her. After a minute or two of moving the device around and actually checking that it was on Kobato finally spoke.]

Hello everyone, um... I've heard that we are meant to find jobs and such while we're here but...

[She paused, if only for a brief moment.]

I'm not sure where people would want me. I mean I am happy to help almost anyone who is in need, it's what I need to do, but can helping someone at work count as a job?

[It was a good first thought anyway.]

If not I am good at...well looking after children. I was meant to be working at a kindergarten before I arrived here so...Any help will be appreciated.

[There's a video of Jade in a school yard playground. There are kids around still playing, waiting to be picked up by their parents.]

"Hello everyone, I just got off from work teaching the children. I want to show you what hatched from my egg a few days ago. When I first got it, it's very, very cold and I tried to keep it warm, but to no avail. I thought it was a goner, but I kept it anyway, thinking it would hatch someday...and it did."

[In the video, on screen, Jade shifted his phone to an ice cream cone shaped pokemon. Her body is made of ice, the head shaped in an ice cream scoope swirl, and well...it's an ice cream cone. What's there to be said? It's a Vanillite! The ice pokemon levitate around, playing with the swings, the merry go round, and she keeps saying "Vanillite" a lot for speech.]

"It turned out that wasn't the case as it seems this one is naturally made out of ice itself and it's her special ability. Unfortunately, she accidentally turned everything into ice by just breathing on it, including testing her powers on my furniture. I was wondering if I should name her Vanilla Ice?"

Morning: Nova City

[After waking up in the middle of the night to am odd bug on her face. She has no idea what it is, but her entire morning was spent planning. At the break of dawn, Anastasia embarks from the Nova City apartments she lives in with Satsuki with her Sylveon and the newborn bug to go on a nice morning walk, carrying a picnic basket.

The young girl assumes that if this bug hatched from the egg, does that mean she has an obligation as a mommy? Perhaps a walk around will be good while she finds some clues as to what it is. She can't keep calling it "Bug" the entire time.]

Noon: Genessia

[The sun was high now. But it was still wonderfully cold for her. She's safe from the sun's blazing rays should it ever come out from behind clouds. Although, the bug was cold, trembling lightly in Anastasia's hands. She passed the tiny bug over to her Sylveon, which is now helping to keep it warm with its ribbon-like feelers.

By now, Anastasia arrives at her intended destination. Genessia's garden park. As good a spot as any for a picnic. For her, any way. Most people won't have a picnic in flipping 29 degree weather. A floral blanket is laid out and she kneels on it, bringing out the contents of the picnic basket. Her Sylveon lays down and still protecting the baby bug from the cold. A nice lunch will be had with sandwiches, fruits, Sylveon treats and sugar water for the baby bug.]

((OOC: Feel free to encounter her in either city.))

Who: Team Abyss of Jade, Anise, Sync, and Luke
What: Jade purchased a new house
When: This afternoon
Where: Attleton

Jade went house hunting last week in Attleton. Since last winter, he lived in a cheap apartment shared with Luke, but it never crossed his mind to purchase a house until he noticed buying a house in Attleton is cheaper than he thought and they are in abundance in this city. He messaged his friends, his homeworld mates about the idea of sharing this house, and gave them information as to what it would look like. Eventually, with ease came to an agreement to combine their efforts to live together.

On a Saturday morning, the house is officially purchased under Jade's name, and he's waiting in front of the house where his friends gathered on the front lawn.

"This is the biggest house I found. It has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, so each of you gets a bathroom for yourself. This house has a pool and basement too. The backyard garden is bigger than the frontyard, and there's a garage too, so that's a good room to store a bicycle."

A pause, a beat, and Jade smiled. "Well, you don't have to stand there. This is our house now, so it's ours to explore." This is Jade's best idea ever.

[This is bad. The last thing Fred remembers was undergoing the ceremony of purification, and now he was in some strange cave filled with grisly pods. He already started to make sense of his situation, but it still left him with too many unanswered questions by the time he finished listening to this hologram.

What is Genessia? How did he get here? Is the malevolence present? Was the purification successful? Are his friends here too?

He supposes the first thing he can do is take the hologram's advice and ask the network using this phone-thing. There was only in one slight problem...

Fred is mute.

Oh well. It's not the first time he surprised a whole group of people.]

Video

[After fiddling with the controls, Fred managed something. He thinks. He quietly peers into the camera and examines every edge of it. He won't know if it's working until he tries. Fred gave his best to look like he has something to say, then, a disembodied voice that doesn't fit Fred's youthful appearance comes through.]

"These are his words...
To anyone who can hear this, my name is Fred. A Rivell of the Grinsil Brigade. I need some help."

Alright. So several people have been asking for a tailor, and I'm going to join in; but for me budget is a concern and I don't want fancy or frilly crap. I need work clothes. The more durable the better.

Also, welcome. I guess. If you don't know where you are; join the crowd. If you're the nervous sort and need to get from point A to point B, I suggest you ask for Jolly Eddy's.

[You're welcome Namur; advertising at it's finest.]

Hey everyone, is there anyone out there looking for a sparing partner? I have Tokunaga here that I fight with and I feel like I've been getting rusty with him.

[With the video feed you'll see a Cheshire-like cat waving a paw at everyone before she waves cheerfully as well.]

Even if you're not looking for a partner, I wouldn't mind making some connections either~

[Private//Sync]

Hey Sync I know you've been kinda busy lately but would you help me learn a little hand to hand? While Tokunaga is helpful, what if I get into a situation of close combat without him by my side? That's if you're up to it of course.

Attleton

[It was listed in the recent newspaper: Attleton Painted: A group of teenagers with paintball guns have been seen vandalizing buildings and shooting people with them. A level 2 payment is being offered for their capture."

For a week, some walls of the town has terrible art and graffiti as the result of the paintball. The innocent civilians were afraid to come out of their homes because of the delinquents shooting those paintballs. Being a resident in this town and working at the local elementary school as a teacher, he had been chasing and hunting the culprits to capture them and take them to the nearby police.

Opening his v-log to the post to the network, with Jade being painted all over in different colors.]

"Hello, Jade Curtiss here. This is not my idea of celebrating the new year of this world, chasing hooligans all over town and confiscate their paint guns. If the youth have so much energy to give, they should turn to art, and not dealing with the law so early in life."

[A pause, beat.]

"All of this paint is going to be hard washing out of my hair."

Video/Action - Attleton

[Yeah, remember Jade? He's the resident mage and colonel. What happened to him? Well, he's still alive. He was just very busy. A month ago, he applied for new jobs, and he accepted one - an elementary school teacher position, full-time in Attleton. So more or less, he resigned from his cashier job at Trick and Treats, and quickly he finished much of his bounty hunting jobs in Fayren, the last one is being a Farmhand, helping a farmer outside of the city to help with harvesting their upcoming crops before the winter. He waited for his paychecks to arrive in the mail, and afterward, moved to Attleton.

There's a video of him wearing much warm layers for the cold winter season with much snow in the background and children having a snowball fight, but the background doesn't show Fayren's usual scenery, but rather a sub-urban town covered in snow and a playground meant for kids.]

Hello everyone, it's me, Colonel Jade. I keep forgetting to make updates on my life. I'm an elementary school teacher in Attleton. I can't believe I'm qualified for the position, but I've been told they're understaffed, so I accepted and went to work right away, and I moved from Fayren to live in Attleton.

I suppose I don't disliked teaching, it can be fun, but require a lot of patience. I hope most of you remember to have fun too.

[Luke was not happy with his curse. The cravings he'd had for blood he'd done his best to ignore but it was getting unbearable. Even regular food didn't help.

He stayed in the shadows out of direct sunlight, another side affect of being a vampire.

Finding a alley that was dark enough he moved to slump down the wall.]

This sucks...

Fayren Inn
[It was night as Jade returned from his new job. He is not unhappy working with candy and sweets, and even recieved it for free have lifted his spirits, if only somewhat. If anything, if he worked straight, next month's rent will be covered.

Money is becoming tighter as of now they live by month to month. Jade's starter money is gone, having it mostly used to pay for rent, food, and other supplies for their stay. The inn keeper is kind enough to give their meals a discount, as the inn keeper knows Jade works as a bounty hunter and thanks to his efforts, he kept Fayren safe. The check from his bounties arrived in the mail today, which is a financial relief and Jade went to the bank to withdraw. Meanwhile, on the way, he reapply for other jobs and mail those apps in the mailbox, and he's hoping if accepted if he heard anything this month or next month, he'll happily move. Until then, he must wait.

However, in the meanwhile, how long he can work as an effective bounty hunter? He's like the job until recently, the last one where the fugitive hurt him really bad in a fight caused him to feel some back pain from the enemy's round house kick. He caught the nasty criminal and put him to justice in spite of that. He had seen a healer for his back, but the pain comes and goes as achy, pinching feeling. Being a doctor himself at one time, he figured the kick gave him a nasty slipped disk in his spine, but having not money to see a real doctor yet, he can't prove that. He's strong, but reaching 40, perhaps he reached his limit.

At one hand, there is still enough money in the bank to survive for a little longer. On the other hand, Jade is feeling under the weather. He felt homesick. He remembers Auldrant, his home planet. He remember what home used to feel like. He spent a majority of his life there.

Sighing in his room, where there is a candle-light, he has to go to bed to prepare for work tomorrow. In his window, the sun setting down between the mountains, and the castle where the royal family lives can be seen, if only far away.

Picking up his phone, he decided to type some messages.]

[Locked to castmates - and yes Sync you can tag too]
"How is everyone? I'm only checking in to see if everyone survives. If anyone of you felt homesick, you're not the only one. I felt the same way."

[The cold reality that somehow; he was still alive hadn't done much to ease Sync upon his waking in the cocoon.

So, the teen relied on his training. He just let go and moved to the beat of the logic that had been enforced upon him; become familiar with his surroundings; learn to use his new tools; look for points of interest to establish a base. After some time though; Sync was sitting on a bench, mentally drained from the effort. He knew enough to have a small area, knew he had temporary lodging, and he needed to get a job.

At least Genessia City was marginally interesting.

Who: Jade and Luke
What: Jade brings Luke to the amusement park for his healing and to save the rest of the town to be awesome heroes for the win
When: Event week
Where: Attleton

Jade explored the amusement park searching the wells on the first day. He managed to find a few, but they were so sparsely spread out, that he probably couldn't find them all on the first trek. At the end of the day, he went back to the inn in Fayren where he stayed with Luke.

However, he did documented some of the hidden well's locations on his phone for reference. He had a hunch that there are some wells cleverely well hidden throughout the park that hasn't been discovered.

On the second day, he brought Luke to the park with him to start yet another trek to discover and search more of the hidden wells.

Welcome to Happy Heights!
Attleton's premier amusement park!

Or at least it used to be.

Attleton's mayor has mentioned the unfortunate only access point to the items needed to make the tonic that will cure the tragic sense-depriving infection that's going around. They'd thought the disease was gone, so they hadn't bothered to maintain the area, but the wells are Happy Heights are the only place that's still going down to the aquifer. They could drill down but-- well, they don't have time for that before the disease really sets into permanence! The number of freak incidences and the decrepit state of the theme park will make it difficult to maneuver, but they've notified the electric company to turn the power on so that people can navigate their way through the park in order to gather the ingredients to make the cure.

Unfortunately, since it's been so long since the park's been opened, rain water and nature have all but wiped the park's map into illegibility. You're on your own for exploration and it's time to find at least four wells from different parts of the park. There are many, but none are a walk in the park to get to! They used to be part of a collection game kids could play when they came into the park.

The mayor warns everyone that the cure is incredibly sensitive to sunlight and oxygenation from the atmosphere- by the time a person can get four, the first extracted water will have their bioluminescence diminished. (And going to that park in the dark... it's too dangerous, he wouldn't recommend it!) It probably won't make it out of the park, so drink it right away! Good luck!

OOC NOTES: There will be different areas listed for different flowers that have soaked into the wishing wells' aquifer. Each area will have a couple of different scenarios you can play out- you're responsible for playing them out and you're welcome to have a blast with whatever you want to do! If you don't want to play it out but you did play sensory deprivation, feel free to handwave your character getting a cure, but remember: If you manage to have at least four different threads with 10 comments from your character, your character will receive an Attleton Charm ICly and for 'exceptionally valiant efforts' in eliminating the disease. (3 month prize claim limit puts this prize available until Dec. 21st.) To claim a charm, click here. Good luck!

Don't forget: If your character tampers with any of the things that are set up to get access to wells except when stated, the ride may explode or collapse, cutting off the well. Pretty unstable park, you know.

If your character wants to explore more of the park than where the wells are, they're more than welcome to. Feel free to make your own thread if you just want to have your character playing on any rides or doing things that they want- get creative, have fun, but the only areas with wells are those listed.

[Jade had been busy for the past month, as he was trying to make ends meet. With his and Luke's combined starter money, that should cover the inn's expenses during their stay in Fayren, but for now, Jade never ask Luke to work with him as an assistant unless he needs help with his come and go assignments as a bounty hunter. For now, their combined money is in the okay goldilocks zone, but they have to be slightly frugal. Being a bounty hunter isn't exactly an easy job as it's a case by case basis depending where it's available in which city, and he travels city from city, and then rest for days in Fayren before he's off again.

So far, from Jade's point of view, there's 2 people from his world, Luke and Arietta. And Arietta is pretty much out of their radar due to circumstances of events from their world that turned them into enemies under a peace truce, so he hardly seen her around as well.

It's only this morning that he noticed there's a tingling and numbing in his hands. It comes and goes, and he was able to feel hot and cold sensation, but at a lesser degree. He started to take notice when he couldn't feel cold water at the max, and very hot scalding coffee, when he drank it.

When he checked the network, it seems he's not the only one. Perhaps, he should ask around.]

Video/public

Hello, Jade Curtiss here. It has been a while. This is becoming worrisome, but I think I lost sensation in my hands and feet. I discovered it when I couldn't feel the cold or hot water by the sink or when I drink my coffee, I scalded my poor tongue, but it didn't felt hot.

I wonder how did that happened? Did anybody else felt the same way that I do?

video; official announcement
Though I've had the decision made for some time and they know who they are, it's about time that I announced that Nova City's new Guardian system has been implemented. The city is now divided into sectors that are each protected by highly skilled deputies that have passed rigorous testing to indicate they're ready for the position. Each sector will be protected individually, but in the case that back-up is needed, any deputies or myself may assist outside of their sector. As lead Guardian, I'll still be doing my duties in every sector throughout each day as normal. Without further ado, your deputies are

Sector 1: Artanis
Sector 2: Saber
Sector 3: Jaune Arc
Sector 4: Robin
Sector 5: Satsuki Kiryuin
Sector 6: Nora Valkyrie

If for whatever reason the deputy is not capable of performing their duties a suitable replacement will be found for them in a reasonable period of time. I'm funding this project out of my own pocket so regardless of whether I'm re-elected as City Guardian in the future, rest assured I'll make sure that Nova City is still protected.

[ Have a business in Nova City? Feel free to assume you're in whoever's sector you want as long as you keep it consistent. ]

I do have one other announcement regarding the protection of Nova City and it's related directly to bounty hunters. Bounty hunters must be licensed in Nova City starting at the end of this month. Acting without a license will result in the individual being characterized as a vigilante and therefore a criminal themselves. Being licensed is not difficult, nor is it infringing upon any of your rights as citizens. The requirements for being licensed are agreeing to the following terms:
    1. Under no circumstances is murder an acceptable method for bringing in a bounty target. The bounty hunter must be able to reliably prove defense if the bounty dies in the process of being brought in. If they cannot, the bounty hunter will be held responsible.
    2. Criminals must be brought to the City Guardian's office for processing. Bounty hunters are not dispensers of justice nor do they have the right to. They're a system designed to capture criminals and assist the justice system.
    3. Property damage is restricted to what's necessary in defense rather than destruction in pursuit of a bounty. If any question is brought up about the nature of the property destruction by witnesses or other evidence, the matter shall be investigated and the bounty hunter may be held accountable for their actions if it is found they were creating more of a problem than assisting with one.
    4. Bounty hunters are required to act under the scope of Nova City's laws. Just because you have a pendant doesn't mean you'er above them.
    5. No trespassing without reasonable belief of distress of a potential victim. If you need to go into a restricted area, present your evidence to the City Guardian's office for approval. If your passage into that area is granted by the Guardian's office- which can be any one of the deputies or myself- then you're welcome to travel into that area. However, private property is that for a reason.
    6. If your bounty interferes with a City Guardian's office investigation and you act upon it in the interest of getting the bounty money rather than exacting justice, you will be held accountable for obstruction of justice. This includes stepping beyond police tape without the explicit permission of someone in the Guardian's office. If you aren't trained explicitly to gather evidence, you're a problem whether you want to believe you're helping or not.
    7. Bounty targets that are turned over may not be prosecuted if investigation does not provide sufficient evidence to link the target to the crime and they may be released and will not be eligible for bounty capture until evidence is presented. Further pursuit of a former bounty target may result in a minimum of harassment charges against the bounty hunter, further depending on actions taken by the bounty hunter beyond pursuit such as assault, stalking, and so on depending on how far out of bounds you are. Just because someone posts something in the paper doesn't mean that they did the crime unless there's active evidence of it.
    8. All crimes committed in Nova City will be given a fair trial to determine their sentence. If the evidence states that they did the crime, they'll be punished to the full extent of the law. Regardless of the person's reason for doing something, if it's been done the victims deserve justice.
These restrictions are largely to hold bounty hunters accountable for their actions rather than limit their ability to do their jobs, but as I've recently come to realize... the pursuit of justice isn't perfect, nor is it easy, and it's certainly not something you can do on a whim or for a few extra bucks. Those interested in agreeing to the terms immediately may apply for licenses with me today. Those who act as bounty hunters without being licensed in Nova City will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law as vigilantes. Literally all I'm asking you guys to do is not plow through everyone else's rights when you do your work, so it's honestly not that hard to get licensed if you agree to and adhere to the rules. Any questions?

action; at the rwby house
[ After dealing with whatever responses she got to her announcement earlier, Weiss needs a breather. With everything that's been going on, it's been difficult and nothing says 'mindless fun' like putting treats on the back of two roombas she purchased and letting them clean through the house with the dogs following them around and barking because the roombas have their treats. So if you happen to hear barking, it's Frost and Sleet. Weiss is sitting on a chair in the current room she's cleaning with her feet up on the chair so that the roomba and dogs can get by without running into her and she can still watch.

But more than that, she wasn't.. quite feeling well. She'd taken a trip to Attleton earlier for her regular trip to the farmer's market and since then she'd been feeling a little off.. She couldn't quite put her finger on what it was though. Nothing really smelled fishy, so to speak. (Or at all.) ]

[The thought of one day losing control of power still haunts Anastasia. The thought of a new personality taking over and using her magic to cause untold destruction, just as it happened once before in her world. So rather than waiting for it to happen, she sets out to the biggest clearing inside of Fayren's borders as she can find to test the limits of her magic.

And she found one. Clear of trees and away from the population. The weather is ideal for her, the cool of the day. But her goal here isn't to see how much destruction she can cause the land, but to see how well she can control. She had been in Genessia for a year and had only used her magic as it was meant to once. This will be a true test to see whether it was a fluke.

Anastasia brought her hands together, reciting a incantation in whispers as visible ribbons of mana gather around her hands. The ribbons condensed and began to resemble water. But then Anastasia forcefully parts her hands, breaking the ribbons and ending the spell. She brought her hands together again and repeated, only to break the spell before completion. She repeated a few times before switching to a new element, new ribbons glowing red.

The red mana condensed and became fire. Breaking the spell, and beginning again. The young girl was looking strained as she prepares, then breaks the spell. Fire is a difficult element for her, and she could've stopped there, but she continues. Reciting the fire spell for a third time, she reached her limit, unable to stop it as the ribbons of mana fully condense into a fireball. Anastasia aims to the sky as the fireball escapes her, flying into the sky and fizzling out. It was a sight most people would notice. She then collapses to her knees, exhausted.]
