[action | open] Don’t you like percussion? Don’t lose yo life for nothin’.
It was just another day on the job as a mercenary.
Scenario 01 - Genessia City - (not) breaking a leg
The pickpocket hit Alleyana's client and then ran like hell to get away from the armored elf at their side. It didn't do any good. A hooked chain snagged the thief around the ankles and then they were flying through the air, landing at Alley's feet.
While the thief was still dazed from that, Alley planted an armored boot on their leg and applied pressure. "Give it back," the elf ordered, as calm as could be. Once her client's money was back in their hands, Alley picked up her foot and unhooked her grappling chain, letting the thief limp off. That leg wasn't broken, but it would have been if the warrior had been trying.
Scenario 02 - Genessia City - no trespassing
Alleyana stood in front of a closed door, her shield bolted onto the flat bar that made up her left forearm. She stood facing out, at passerby, clearly blocking the way in. It wasn't a popular destination, just a little pawn shop, but her employer had wanted privacy... and so privacy they would get.
The scarred elf didn't have her weapon drawn, but her body language was clear; she didn't need it to stop anyone from getting in. And if she did? Well... maybe it was better to try a more diplomatic approach if one wanted inside. Or if one was just curious.

scenario 2
First, after the reports he's heard of the other places, and this place too, outfitting himself with some appropriately homegrown weapons was a good idea, and if the old man taught him anything, which he'd taught him a lot, it was that pawn shops were a great place to find things that can be modified.
Standing at well over six feet and broad of shoulder, Fet was well aware he cast an imposing shadow, but he came up short as he approached the door to this particular establishment. Was that...armor? A shield? Pointed...ears? There were elves in Fayren, he reminded himself. He pasted on a charming smile once he was within earshot, his Ukranian accent giving his words a melodious lilt.
"So, does this mean this one's closed today?"

Alley tipped her head a little to one side to look up at the stranger, unperturbed. The shield bolted to her false arm, currently hanging at ease at her side, was huge and a bit... spiky. It looked like it weighed nearly as much as she did.
"Until my client is done, it is," Alleyana replied calmly. She wasn't automatically going to be threatening to someone just asking questions. Only if he tried to muscle past... that would be a mistake. "It could be five minutes; it could be an hour."

"So, what's your story, huh? You don't see armor like that round here very often."
no subject
"It's the kind of world I'm from," she said, back to watching passer-by, "more like Fayren, but with less pretentiousness. Mostly."

scenario 1
Mostly because of the thief limping off. Whatever they had done they obviously hurt someone. "Did you really need to be that harsh?"

"Guess that makes sense. You were just doing your job."

But she recognized that grumpy look. Merrill liked to think she was good at picking out people by their grumpy looks. She had known enough grumps.
She stopped right in front of Alleyana. "You know if you smile more, people won't walk away."

"You look so... So... So intimidating here. Friends would fix that, you know."

She paused again, this time looking down the road she had just been running on. "I wouldn't say chasing it, no. I just wanted to see where it lived. Cats usually stick together, you see."

"Who are you?" As always, Genos was full of tact.

"Alley. Who are you?"
no subject
"Hero, S-class." That meant little here. "Where are you from?"
He flat out ignored her client.

There went the hope of asking her if she'd seen more like him. He'd found no leads on the mad cyborg yet... Maybe that was for the best.

Bummer.
He approaches Alleyana cautiously, his large fluffy tail the only indication of the vague apprehension he was feeling.]
Oh man, don't tell me the shop's closed!

"Aw man, hey could you let me in just real quick? There's this little statue I need to get and—" he starts, as he steps towards the door carefully. "I won't bug your client I promise! I can be super sneaky and leave the money on the counter and everything!"
it's cool :3
That's a very large, spiky shield bolted to her prosthetic forearm. It looks like it weighs nearly as much as she does. She doesn't raise it, yet, but it's there.
no subject
The shield and the...not arm that it's bolted to doesn't pass his attention either, and he reaches out to poke one of the spikes, immediately pulling back and shaking his hand in mock pain. Sharp indeed.
"I'm supposed to get this done before too long, or the lady I'm trying to help out's really in a jam!" Or, she won't be able to make jam. He's pretty sure that's what the little old lady wanted with bag of apples. Or was it pie?
