[Action] Magic in Fayren
[The thought of one day losing control of power still haunts Anastasia. The thought of a new personality taking over and using her magic to cause untold destruction, just as it happened once before in her world. So rather than waiting for it to happen, she sets out to the biggest clearing inside of Fayren's borders as she can find to test the limits of her magic.
And she found one. Clear of trees and away from the population. The weather is ideal for her, the cool of the day. But her goal here isn't to see how much destruction she can cause the land, but to see how well she can control. She had been in Genessia for a year and had only used her magic as it was meant to once. This will be a true test to see whether it was a fluke.
Anastasia brought her hands together, reciting a incantation in whispers as visible ribbons of mana gather around her hands. The ribbons condensed and began to resemble water. But then Anastasia forcefully parts her hands, breaking the ribbons and ending the spell. She brought her hands together again and repeated, only to break the spell before completion. She repeated a few times before switching to a new element, new ribbons glowing red.
The red mana condensed and became fire. Breaking the spell, and beginning again. The young girl was looking strained as she prepares, then breaks the spell. Fire is a difficult element for her, and she could've stopped there, but she continues. Reciting the fire spell for a third time, she reached her limit, unable to stop it as the ribbons of mana fully condense into a fireball. Anastasia aims to the sky as the fireball escapes her, flying into the sky and fizzling out. It was a sight most people would notice. She then collapses to her knees, exhausted.]

He found a girl in the clearing of the forest by the border, alone and on her knees, exhausted and spent of the energy she used for her spell. Is she in distress and need help? He came closer.]
Hello. Pardon me, but was that you that cast the fireball I seen earlier? Are you all right?
no subject
[Whether she's lying or telling the truth is difficult to tell as she tries to get back to her feet, but is simply too weak to do so. She instead falls further into a sitting position.]
no subject
[Jade observed her, saying nothing at first as she sat down, feeling weak from the mana burned out. Considering he's a stranger and he sees her as a little girl, it's best to introduce him.]
"I'm Colonel Jade Curtiss. I'm a spell-caster, such as yourself. I seen a lot of them in Fayren. Is that your first time casting a spell?"
[The way he spoke, he is used to speaking to people twice younger than him. Anise, his close companion back home, for the most part.]
no subject
"I am... Princess Anastasia Leonheart... and no, just my first time over-using my anti-element magic..."
no subject
Jade gave another pause, as he waited for her to catch her breath.
"I have some potions that can revive your energy. I spare you, I carried a lot, since I tend to use a lot of energy in my spells. Do you want one?"
no subject
...In return, I'll... I-I'll explain my world's magic."
[She can hardly believe how tired she felt and surprised at how long it's taking to recover.]
no subject
"I can't promise what of the side-effects, but I think it's delicious."
Jade smiled, and he pulled out from his rucksack a corked up glassed bottle of a clear looking red liquid substance. He swished around and then hands it over to her. But if Anastasia sniffed it, it has a scent of apple. It is apple flavored.
"Back in my world, they should be in gel form, but this one is in liquid form."
no subject
After having her fill, she went into a relaxed state for a moment before looking up again, looking positively bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.]
"Thank you... As promised, in my world, people are blessed by as many as two of our Goddesses depending on their birth month and region--a Celestial and Natural element. So we have elements that we are most comfortable and strongest in. I was born in a Water month in a cold region, so I'm blessed by Water and Ice. Each element has its own polar opposite, so Thunder and Fire are my anti-elements."
[She takes a breath.]
"Though, Thunder and Fire magic are just harder for me to use. Anything that's too hot, such as direct sunlight in the summer season, can be dangerous to my health."
no subject
And that was when Anatasia begin to explained her magic. Quite a talkative girl for her age. "Hm, water and ice. So your weak element is thunder and fire."
After some thought, "Might as well tell you mine. In my world, we call the particles in the elements fons. I'm a master in all the elements of fire, water, ground, dark, light, and wind. The only element I cannot use is sound, which is primary used for healing. Anyway, being a spellcaster, or fonists as we called ourselves, we just download the fons in our bodies to cast spells for offensive attacks."
no subject
"Yes, that's right... Those are my anti-elements..."
[Don't use either on her, please.]
"So you can't heal either? Girls of my kingdom are supposed to be powerful healers, but I can't so much as use the most basic of healing magic."
no subject
Still, her info about her world is interesting.]
"No. I can't heal. I wasn't born with the ability. Back in my world, both men and women can heal if they are born with the ability to use the sound element."
[Jade likes the quiet of the forest.]
"How come? You haven't master it yet?"
no subject
"The God-Queen influenced family ties of my people, generation-by-generation, until she..." [created the perfect weapon.] "...until I was born. I was just not meant to be able to heal."
no subject
[The one that deals with dead bodies in a morgue. Not a terribly exciting career.]
"Being a doctor is not a fun career, that I learned. So, my ability as a mage is more suited for the military."
no subject
[That sounds rather dangerous.]
no subject
Changing the subject to something more exciting.]
"Yes, there's a lot of mages where I come from in my kingdom. How about yours in your kingdom?"
no subject
"No. My father and I are the only ones presently."
no subject
"I see. That's makes two of you. So your military is more into weaponry, I take it?"
no subject
[She won't go into details, though.]

[Anastasia started drawing in the air with her finger, a strange device.]
"One of my companions did. She attached manatech to her weapons to energize it elementally. It's bad to use it, though."
no subject
"Why it's bad?"
no subject
The use of manatech makes it impossible for the mother tree to purify the mana."
no subject
Jade thought deeply about it.
"Thankfully, I don't have that problem with my spear. I can summon one out of my right arm."
no subject
"...Out of...your arm?"
no subject
He puts a bit of distance between him and her, and in a flash of bright green light, a full fledged solid spear formed out of his right arm.
"See? Has a nice weight to this as well."
no subject
"How did you do that?"
no subject
"It's something I mastered in my own world, that I called the contamination effect. It’s a fusion arte...or fusion mana. It’s an effect where the mana and elements of matter separate and fuse together. So you see, the spear is solid, but I can undo what makes the spear solid, because the mana in the spear can easily seperate. Not only are the mana are in living things and inorganic materials different, but so are the elements that comprise them. Utilizing that difference, I temporarily fuse my spear into the outer layer of my right arm."
