Who: Blake, Koishi + other scenarios open
What:Seeing Koishi again and getting back fromnervous breakdown/freak out mode a training retreat of sorts.
When:daytime/noon
Where:Everywhere
Warnings: Pop rock candy?
1
Blake hadn't been to Fayren except to dump books and leave immediately after ever since the incident with Battler. (She still liked her job and was sure Levy still needed her to do it, after all.) And that was where she was on her way to now. Although oddly she didn't feel as bothered being there as she thought she would. She just felt numb, really. Or maybe she just wasn't afraid of anything anymore after that. Whatever the case, she was calmer than she had been a month ago. She wasn't going to overthink a good thing.

Few things were better than tea in the afternoon, so that was what Blake had decided to do while reading over the latest newspaper. She was mulling over maybe finding another job. Not that she wanted to stop being a book hunter, but she needed something else to keep her skills sharp and keep her busy. Predictably, the first thing that came to her mind was 'bounty hunter' , because really, there was not much else besides reading books she was interested in. Well, there was tea. But she was pretty sure Genessia had filled its quota on tea shops and besides she wasn't sure she had business know-how.
This was going to be harder than she thought. Well, it wasn't like she was going anywhere.

Not like Pyrrha, who was probably....no. She really didn't want to think about it. It was too depressing if her suspicions were right.

Koishi sighed softly, her gaze unfocused for several moments before, shaking her head, she let out a distinctly non-human huff. "Burned with prismatic clear-gold crystals and glass!" She seemed agitated. "I'm still thinking like a human! It's not fair."

Like a human?

"I'm an immortal, flesh eating, spirit monster. For the sake of my own sanity I'm not supposed to have those kinds of attachments because, if I follow my aspects in a literal sense, I do kill humans. Ones who lose themselves on the mountain side or wish harm on other humans who live and work there. If I was capable of the same attachments humans have then I would go mad. It would crush me under guilt and then I would be easy prey for over zealous youkai hunters who kill monsters like 'satori' on sight."
She let out a long exhale rubbing the scar above her left temple now, knocking her hat askew and causing the corresponding eye to close. "And it doesn't help that my emotions are stripped! I need someone to gouge it out of my aspects or just wait until I drop my head and I forget everything. And then hope I don't remember the bad parts when I find it again."
It's not like she actually expected Blake to help, but she looked a little better after venting. Oddly enough her third eye was resting on the table, a sliver of white visible. "... Thanks for listening. It may not make a lot of sense to you- but I suppose it's rare that I make sense. Sorry."

And then suddenly one day, it all snapping into place. It must be overwhelming. Scary even, if that wasn't your normal.
"Yeah, that's about on record for you, " Blake replied, dryly. She hesitated. It would be bad if Koi gave in to whatever her baser instincts were. "Is there something I can do?"
She wondered if she still even had the ability to be scared between what Battler and Adam had put her through.

She picked up her third eye, cradling it to her chest. "Though, I suppose being empty lets me remain even and true when things like this happen. Sis would have-" She stopped, covering her left eye. It was flickering.
"Well, I have the experience of having my aspects drastically altered and twisted, pressed and rolled and spread thin before. So I'll be okay. Maybe I'll go hunting again. Venison is wonderful."

She was silent for a moment. She had known that Koi could be strange at times, but this was different. Maybe the girl was more like her than she had taken for granted.
"I'm sorry," she said, quietly. "If I asked too much of you in that last sparring match. It was selfish of me."
It might have been hard to watch her die, even if it wasn't permanent. But she had assumed Koi wasn't affected by such things. What if she'd been wrong?

She did tilt her head at Blake's apology, blinking a little in surprise. "You're sorry?" She tilted her head. "Why is that? You weren't selfish at all. I went in with killing intent and I broke your neck." Luke leaving was something different. It was a primal attachment she had for that human in particular.
She paused. "I should probably apologize for it though. I really hope that didn't hurt too much. I used my teeth after you fell down just in case since the sooner brain function stops the sooner the pain stops. Even if you were unconscious and don't remember it."
She actually brightened a little bit. "It was a good and fun fight though. If you want to try again sometime I'm all for it. Nothing gets me worked up as fighting a strong and well-trained hero come to slay the monster! And that place is even better since the story can have a definitive conclusion without anyone dying forever. So, next time, don't be afraid to hit hard and fast. I will deplete your aura before I run out of stamina and youki."
