Who: Blake, Koishi + other scenarios open
What:Seeing Koishi again and getting back fromnervous breakdown/freak out mode a training retreat of sorts.
When:daytime/noon
Where:Everywhere
Warnings: Pop rock candy?
1
Blake hadn't been to Fayren except to dump books and leave immediately after ever since the incident with Battler. (She still liked her job and was sure Levy still needed her to do it, after all.) And that was where she was on her way to now. Although oddly she didn't feel as bothered being there as she thought she would. She just felt numb, really. Or maybe she just wasn't afraid of anything anymore after that. Whatever the case, she was calmer than she had been a month ago. She wasn't going to overthink a good thing.

Few things were better than tea in the afternoon, so that was what Blake had decided to do while reading over the latest newspaper. She was mulling over maybe finding another job. Not that she wanted to stop being a book hunter, but she needed something else to keep her skills sharp and keep her busy. Predictably, the first thing that came to her mind was 'bounty hunter' , because really, there was not much else besides reading books she was interested in. Well, there was tea. But she was pretty sure Genessia had filled its quota on tea shops and besides she wasn't sure she had business know-how.
This was going to be harder than she thought. Well, it wasn't like she was going anywhere.

[ Weiss nursed her cup as she thought about who was and wasn't here, just going on about it casually as if they were talking about whether they'd seen old friends in a while or not. ]

She hadn't seen Glynda or Ozpin in a long while. Maybe that was good. Beacon needed them more than Genessia did.
"What about your sister?"
no subject
[ They have plenty of that without the wonder twins dipping their toes in. ]
Winter is still here. She's just.. dealing with things the way that Winter has to deal with them. I saw her a little while ago, after the masquerade.. incident. Which I will tell you about if you want to know but you're not going to like it.
[ Because he showed up, and she wants to give Blake the chance not to have to deal with that if she doesn't want to. She's only bringing it up because it's Blake, and they promised to always share with each other. ]

[Blake would never trust those two even if they did act like they were behaving. Between the pair of them, she couldn't tell whose face she wanted to punch more.
Blake's ears pricked as she gave Weiss a questioning glance. What news could possibly be worse than everything she had already been through?]
What happened?

When I first got to Beacon sometimes I still had nightmares about things that had happened...before. It takes a while.
[She didn't tell Weiss that even she was unsure of how long 'a while' lasted.]

[ There's a lot of loathing in that statement. Weiss is clearly trying to keep it down, but the way he's just going back and forth making sure to remind her that he's still there, that he could still do anything he wants to her and the people she cares about? It's terrifying. She knows Blake is trying to comfort her as much as she can, though, so she doesn't just dismiss what she says. ]
I'm sorry, for whatever you went through before you arrived at Beacon.

[She left it at that because she knew that if she went over all the things she 'could' have done it would come to quite a list. She sipped her drink looking thoughtful.]
Battler's sick, but he's not very intelligent. If he was, he'd let you get complacent, not put you on your guard. [Adam had gone and let Blake think he had actually let her go. It made her ill to think how calculated and cruel that was. To let her build up a life so that he could destroy it.]
He's an overpowered kid running around ripping the wings off of butterflies. If there was a way to trap Cinder, there's got to be something we can do about him.
no subject
[ Weiss might be overestimating, but she'd rather over than under at this point. Even if she's managed to become a functioning member of society again, it doesn't mean she isn't still scared of him. ]
He's playing with us because he knows we can't do anything.
no subject
Had she really had that thought? Ruby must have rubbed off on her after all.]
I'm not saying it would be easy, just not impossible. People used to think the same thing of the faunus: that we were powerless and there was nothing else we could do. Even some of our kind thought that. But they were wrong.
[She gripped her cup in determination. Blake understood Weiss's fear. She still remembered the look in Jaune's face, the pain in her ears as she was being mutilated. It did frighten her. It also made her mad as hell.]
There's a way to beat every monster. We just have to find it.
[No truer words. That had to, if they didn't want something like this to happen again.]
no subject
[ She still doesn't want to talk about it. Just as she's sure that none of her friends want to talk in detail about what happened to them, she doesn't want to address what happened to her. She only knows everyone else's because that was part of hers. ]
That's all I have. Beyond becoming invincible, I don't see another solution.

If you can't tell which by now, Weiss, I'm having this conversation with the wrong person. [She polished off her tea and tried to mask how badly this conversation was depressing her behind a facade of indifference. She wasn't sure what to think if Weiss had given up. They had bumped heads before, but she had always admired in the smaller girl her refusal to back down.
Well, it's not like I can talk. I dealt with it by running again. Should I have kept going? What did I keep training for?
She stood up and pushed her chair away.]
Guess I better become invincible. [A touch of her old dry humor.] Or find someone who can.

[ She's teasing, but it's a good sign. She's not dismissing the possibility, just.. admiring that Blake seems to be moving forward better than Weiss feels like she is. She's done all the right things- taken the right steps to seem okay, and even made some progress, but she hadn't quite found the way into believing that there was anything she could do. The fact that she lived now without a scar from it made her feel like she wasn't even real sometimes, and here was Blake talking like they stood at chance at beating the man who had done this to her- to them. ]
I hope one of us can come up with a better plan than invincibility because I have my doubts that's a real option.

I'm not optimistic. I'm just tired of losing.
[Speaking of scars, she still needed to decide on a tattoo to cover hers. But nothing significant had come to mind yet and if it was going to be with her forever, then she wanted to be very sure.]
Well....one thing Genessia has going for it as that there are books from all corners of different worlds. Maybe I'll come across something that will show me what it takes to defeat a demon.
no subject
[ She supposes it depends on what it is. But Weiss is.. honestly, she hasn't been able to think rationally when it comes to Battler. Blake offering up possibilities is helping a little. It's probably not something that would work, but it's a step in a direction, which is better than standing still. ]
Thanks, Blake.

[It might be a good idea to know what exactly they were up against in the first place for starters. Her ears twitched under her bow. She blinked.]
I didn't really do anything.

You did.
