Seventh Reel: That Reaper, Handling Her Business [Video] + [Action]
A: [Video]
[Grell is walking along the streets of Nova City while she's making the video post. Because why not? And guess who's abusing a face filter app that gives people flower crowns and such? In her opinion, everyone could use a flower crown. She should get Marco to make some for everyone.]
I was recently asked a very good question. There are some of us here that aren't new to world hopping. The question is: how do you feel about that? Barring irritation at not getting back to your own world.
[Sips her to-go cup of tea.]
To be honest, it's rather exciting. A long vacation from my original vocation, all the while gaining new skills. Free of charge at that! So I can't exactly complain.
B: [Action: Genessia Library]
[After the video, Grell will hole herself up in a booth in the coffee shop of the library for most of the day. Books surrounding her include books about:
Computer Science
Poetry
Trashy Romance Novels
Feel free to question whatever she's reading. Currently, she's engrossed in a book called "The Call of the Sea Maiden." By the cover, it's definitely one of the trashy romance novels she pulled from the shelf. Handwritten papers are strewn about the table, but there's a space for her tea to rest when she isn't drinking it]
C: [Action: Nova City at night]
[Having gone home and cleaned up, Grell makes her way down the street. She’s walking fast, as if she has somewhere to be, when she hears something that stops her in her tracks. The sound of pain, but not from a human. It was definitely an animal. Backtracking, Grell peers into an alley and spots a few men kicking an animal on the floor. Well, she’ll have none of that!
Before one of them could use the knife in their hand, she grabs their wrist and twists it in a way that will definitely leave it broken before grabbing their throat with the other hand, squeezing very tightly.]
I like hurting lowly animals, too~!
[Tosses the person she had in her grip against a wall, which cracks at the impact.]
But no one will save you!
[Will anyone stop her? Join her?]

An' sometimes shit don't work on yer schedule. Sometimes t' make shit work y' gotta do it on someone else's. An' 'fore y' try an' turn that shit 'round on me I been waitin' on y' t' try out this whole shitty talkin' t' me like family thing for years, so don't even.
Time Compression's a bitch, but it's pretty much guaranteed we got all the damn time in all the worlds. Give it a whirl, maybe y'll find I give half a shit.

[On the one hand, he's glad they're trying.]
[On the other hand, they're smarter than this.]
[So there's a SHARP LOUD whistle, and Marco grabs Grell in a one-armed hug around the neck, and basically pins her arms and wrists with the other hand.]
Time out.
Both of you.
You, [He flicks Grell's ear sharply, but only enough to sting not cause any lasting damage
Even if she'd like it.] He's practically my baby brother, minus a few younger ones in between. [Honest, Marco is baffled how she can find a way to get along with Espio better. ESPIO of all people!]And you [Finger point to video before hands are back on holding Grell.] Have got to stop treating all the universe like everyone's out to get you. I expect better from you Namur. You know better than everyone how hard it is to be a fish out of water, and getting along with humans on land or ships, yet instead you're trying to rile them up and assuming prejudice before there even is any. Shape up.
Kitten. [A growl and another ear flick, though this is clearly more playful, though he expects to get chainsaw'd for it later.] He's trying. Respect that.
Nam-chan, believe it or not, she is too. [Lets go of Grell completely.] You're not the only one who's faced a life of torment and slavery and fighting over morality about souls is a waste. On both of you.
Now all three of us are going to have a drink and talk. [There's a VERY STEADY LOOK FOR BOTH OF THEM, rather eagle-like, which says more than just Captain's Orders, but he will literally yank out your teeth if you fight him on it.]
I've got the plans for the new ship, so I suggest meeting on dock 5 where it'll be built. Got it?

THOSE EAR FLICKS, THOUGH.]
OUCH! [NUDGES WITH AN ELBOW] You cut that out! [Huffs and crosses her arms while looking rightfully angry. She may be hearing his words, but she'll be simmering in those anger juices for days to come. Especially now that she's expected to have drinks with The Jerk Named Namur. Getting to see said fish man getting chastised by Marco is satisfying, but then Marco just had to bring up her past. Not cool.
Grell gives a frustrated sigh.]
Sure. [It's a rather half-hearted assurance of her presence at the dock, and a notion that she's going to be in A Mood. She starts to walk away, though.] I'm going to change.
video
Really? When's the last time she tried t' talk t' me 'stead a the other way 'round? When's the last time she done somethin' t' try an' back me up? Name me once, when it come from her an' not me. Hell, she can help y' even. Maybe I'm jus' blind as shit an' ain't seein' what I oughta be, so if I am, show me.
video
At least she knows when I'm not making a request. It's an order.
[Hangs up. Just let that sink in. You know Marco is pissed when...]
[But it's also so he won't embarrass Grell by fighting with her in front of Namur too.]
no subject
[Marco's not the only one that expected better.]
[evil influence]
Is there anything that can stir wrath quite like a third party trying to mediate two others? If he plays this right, everyone will hate everyone else.
First, he needs to think of his goals. Obviously he wants this worthless 'family' to stay together. These crabs should stay in their buckets. The status quo is all but guaranteed to send them to hell.
But the status quo isn't very fun. So it'd be nice if, so arranged, they utterly despised one another under the surface. The best of both worlds: community and contempt! So long as they adhere (and PC is confident they will), he'll have peace of mind at least. But why stop there? Time to get to work.]
[To Marco]
Namur, for all your love, is being insubordinate. Don't let him get away with it. [He'd leave out any thought about Grell, good or bad. She obeyed, that was enough.]
[To Namur]
You noticed, didn't you, how he charged you with a persecution complex, yet he said nothing about her? Don't dream this will be impartial; blood may be thicker than water, but they've exchanged a few more fluids than that.
Not that you haven't tried. You're being chided for not understanding someone who refuses to be understood, despite your best efforts. [That Grell was an objectively awful person he'd leave out; the last thing he wants is for their hatred to find more justifiable bases.]
You'll have to grin and bear it anyway. Yes, Marco will play favorites. Yes, Grell will continue to despise you in little, passive-aggressive ways. But this is for your family. You don't have to like them; in fact, go right on ahead and hate some of them. You've tried enough not to. Just remember where your loyalty lies, and work for that.
[That should be enough for the time being. An approach like that should ensure the maximum amount of misery for everyone. Namur's dead set on going anyway. This mediation ought to be very fruitful.]
