[Video - Start of Curse]

*At first the video seems to just show a long fish tail of shimmering scales in pink and blue. It's really quite hypnotic. After a few moments of that, however, the camera showed Sonico's startled face*

So maybe I haven't lost my sight or my voice, but now I have this tail thing?! Is it a joke?! I don't get it! I'm pretty sure this isn't funny!

[Near the start of the curse].

Library!

*It's far from unusual to see Sonico in the library. In fact, she's quit a bit of a fixture there. This time, though, something is a little different. Somehow, just as she was reaching for more books on marine biology - pop! Sonico is transformed into a mermaid. Rather uselessly, she flails her tail around and attempts to half-drag, half-hop to safety. Clearly, though, she's floundering and causing a bit of a nuisance with that tail - it's danegerous around people or stacks of books.

[Slightly Later In the Curse.

Genessia Gardens.

The gardens are close to Sonico's home, and lately something's been pulling her to the water more than usual. So, Sonico is having some time in the afternoon swimming in the garden ponds with the fish. Or, she might be sitting at the side with her tail in the water and strumming a tune with an acoustic guitar.

Nova City - In Town, and In Malls

Sonico's talent agents jumped on this opportunity when Sonico told them her new mermaid situation. Turns out there is a boutique line of lingerie and swimwear that needed a model for its bikinis. So, sometimes around the city, or in the malls, Sonico can be found in a large glamourous tank, swimming around, posing, smiling and waving, and showing off how good the expensive bikini tops look on her. At some points in the day it's even possible to pay to have a photo taken with Sonico as she sits with her tail in a pool, sitting inside a large plastic shell. It's all very sparkly and glam, and though tiring, Sonico is doing her best to be the prettiest mermaid she could be.

[Athrun nods, then walks over. When he reaches the chair, he carefully lowers Sonico into it and slides her up to the table.]

All right. There you go. Now, let me get your book.

[Athrun wanders back into the bookshelves, and emerges a moment later with the right book. He'd taken the time to memorize enough of the call number to pick it out among the surrounding books.]

This is the one you wanted, right?

*Sonico smiles at him gratefully as she is lowered into the chair, and glances back at him as he heads over with the book*

That's it. Perfect! Thank you!

*Sonico takes the book and her tail flicks nervously under the table, bumping the legs*

All right. Let me know when you're ready to leave, and we'll have a cab ready to take you out of here.

[Where, though, is anybody's guess. Athrun honestly isn't sure what to do to further help her out. But he has his own reading to do, so he heads off.]

Oh!

*Sonico watches at Athrun walks away, and she calls out a thank you, though really it's just a loud whisper - they are in a library after all*

[Does Athrun hear it? Maybe. However, he's interested in what he's about to look up.

LATER, though...

Athrun is at a mall in Nova City. He has a bit of shopping to do, mainly in the form of electronics, given his occupation here and his interests. He hasn't bought anything yet, which is fortunate, given there's a big water tank inside. Athrun walks up, curious.]

Huh. Wonder what this is about?

*There's a small crowd of people outside the tank, waving to whatever's inside it, taking pictures too. If Athrun were to get a little closer he'd see a Sonico inside, as a mermaid - swimming and twisting and smiling, sometimes just posing and waving. All designed to show off how pretty the bikini tops are for the nearby swimwear and lingerie store*

[Athrun realized it was Sonico before he registered what she was wearing, and he waved at her to get her attention. It was good to see she had access to an environment in which she could move freely, if only for the time being.

When Sonico came closer, however, Athrun got a better view of how she looked wearing nothing but a bikini top. Suddenly, he found himself unable to focus his eyes on one point. Try as he might to look at her face, her exposed cleavage was far too distracting.

The situation was enough to turn Athrun's cheeks a deep shade of red.]

*When Sonico sees Athrun's wave, she straightens herself in the water and waves right back at him. She smiles brightly as he approaches, tail swishing in the water contently.

But as he gets closer, Sonico can see that he isn't looking at her straight and his cheeks are red. She moves closer to the side of the tank and puts a hand up to the glass*

Athrun, are you okay?

*She is only just audible from under the water and behind the glass*

Huh? I-I'm fine! Totally fine! W-why?

[Back and forth his eyes dart. Back and forth...]

Are you sure...?

*Sonico moves even closer, only ever so slightly pressing herself up against the glass of the tank. By this stage, the rest of the crowd have stopped to watch. There are people wandering who this guy is, and how come he knows the mermaid, and why is she looking at him so worriedly? There were pictures being taken too, though some of them were more of Sonico with her chest lightly pressed against the glass. Completely oblivious*

[Sonico pressing up against the glass only makes Athrun blush more. At this point he can't take his eyes off her large chest being pressed against the glass, but since he's looking at her straight on, it's hard to tell.]

I-I-I'm sure! Completely!

[Athrun stumbles back and falls square on his butt. An unusual thing to see from the normally coordinated (heh) young man.]

*What is wrong with him? Athrun is a very together person, and usually so calm and collected. It must be a fever, maybe that's why his cheeks are so red.

Her body becomes more of an exclamation mark, tail pointing and pushing away from the glass when he falls*

Athrun!

*She looked around at the small crowd to ask for someone to help him since there's not much she can do while in a tank. There is a group of guys who are too busy laughing at him to do anything else*

[Athrun climbs back to his feet, rubbing his hip. This is getting more embarrassing by the second. Unfortunately, there isn't much else he can do, and at this point, he won't even lift his gaze to look at Sonico.]

*As soon as Athrun was up the guys that had been chuckling at him moved forward to stand closer to the glass for a better view of Sonico. But she was too busy trying to check that Athrun was okay, swimming to the other corner of the tank and tapping the glass to get his attention*

[Athrun chances a glance upward at Sonico. He's still blushing, but at least he's calm now. Also because her chest isn't pressed against the glass any more. That got him far too hot under the collar.]

*At least he's looking at her - she was worried for a moment that mabe she had done something wrong somehow. Now that he's looking, she smiles warmly and waves*

[Athrun waves back, an extremely embarrassed look on his face as he does. Not much else to do.]

*Satisfied with that wave, Sonico then continues to give a bit of a show as her employer has suggested - to swim in loops and patterns from one end of the tank to the other in order to prove that no matter what these bikinis stay in place*
