Survive the Night [Action|Castlevania/Touhou crew]
[It's been a week since Soma arrived in Genessia, with all the odd meetings that day entailed. He's found a potential job or two, learned that he is most definitely not the biggest fish in the pond (not that he ever believed himself to be to start with - Yoko and Julius were both high on his list of People Not to Mess With, and they were 'just' human), and been threatened with death by his own past self. Talk about a strange week.]
[Now, however, he's finally made up his mind - he's going to seek out Dracula once more. If there is to be a confrontation, better that it be on his terms than the Count's. Thus it is that he stands at the gate to the castle, the very essence of which he can feel turning its deadly attention to him - and not in a friendly, welcoming way. Castlevania knows its master - and that master isn't some punk with pretensions to power he didn't earn.]
[It is, of course, midnight. A blood-red moon hangs full over the castle, framing it perfectly regardless of the angle it's viewed from - the magic of the Forest of Eternal Night proving once more its tendency to the dramatic. All this scene needed now was a chase through the woods on horseback, with a pack of wargs on his heels. Fortunately, the Castle knew at least this much - such cheap tricks would not work on this challenger. Besides - he didn't own a horse. Though, he supposed, he could probably summon a Nightmare...]
[The gate opens smoothly as he approaches, centuries of blood having oiled the hinges more efficiently than ever mere grease could have.]
((OOC: Feel free to skip ahead to whatever part of the castle your character haunts, I just dunno where to start looking. ^^;;;))

"... Thanks." She found these things far too often for her liking. Still, she stuck her knife in the bird, carving off several pieces, carefully eating them as she turned to exit the kitchen, closing the door behind her. She would rather not fight in there and have the current meal destroyed.
She was thankful the kitchen had moved when she peeked through the door again, instead, stepping into the chapel. She tapped her chin, walking toward the end to await the intruder. The location would do nicely.
The monsters there smartly got out of her way as she picked a spot, sitting down on one of the pews and looking at the stained glass around her. It wasn't a room she went into often. It was quite pretty.

It's almost a relief when he finally enters the chapel - a familiar location and one of the few parts of the castle that the aura of chaos does not seem so pervasive. The lack of monsters here isn't quite so shocking - it's never been the most heavily populated area. Something about the presence of God, he guessed, made the kind of creature that generally bent a knee to Dracula nervous.
When he saw who was waiting for him in the pews... he wasn't really sure what to think. She didn't look like any of the monsters he had encountered before - well, no, scratch that, she kind of reminded him of Persephone. Maybe she was that rarest of creatures - a fellow human trapped in the castle's halls.
Poor bastard. He doesn't have a clue what's in store.
Though he pays the religious symbols on display due respect, he doesn't offer a prayer to any of them. He's not a Christian, after all - why would he pray to their God, even if he knows beyond the shadow of doubt that He exists?
Apologies. Sakuya needed a resub.
Taking several moments to smooth her dress and apron, the maid turned and made her way around the pew, crossing the floor, and standing in his way. She did not take up a fighting stance and... was human? Yes. This woman was undoubtedly human.
"The castle has seen fit to deposit me here in your way. As such I have yet to finish preparations for the up and coming meal." She readjusted the decorative cuffs she was wearing on her wrists. "As such I'm in no mood to actually fight, so I will give you this one chance to turn and leave peacefully. I will even escort you to the exit, should you require it. However, should you decide to ignore my request I will butcher you like anything else foolish enough to oppose me."
No worries
"Maybe we can start this over on better terms. Hello. My name is Soma Cruz - I came here to speak with Dracula. Probably to argue with him, but that's neither here nor there. I apologize for the castle interrupting your preparations, and would be happy to help, if you don't mind pointing me at things to do. But none of that is going to happen if you're going to spend the next half hour trying to butcher me. That's just not going to be fun for either of us."

She clicked her heels and bowed deeply, not overly bothered by his snark, it seemed. "Greetings, Soma. My name is Sakuya Izayoi, bound servant of Remilia Scarlet and head maid of her household. Those under her roof before coming here are under my protection and care."
She straightened up. "Likewise, I am charged with protecting this castle and its owner. Lord Tepes has graciously let us stay here. But if he has not shown his face, I'm afraid this means he does not wish to speak with you. As the door behind me has sealed itself, I must ask you to leave the way you came or fight me if you wish to proceed."

You have me listening to that now XD
When the door was opened, there wasn't a noticeable tell that she heard. A small blonde child in scarlet and white, with large metal and jeweled wings was probably not expected. The gems were slightly glowing, keeping the lights down around her. Although the slight aura around her is of destruction, unstable and almost visible.]
My work here is done /o/
[For his part, Soma is wearing his traditional white coat cloak-style, with his arms out of the sleeves. He's even wearing the fur ruff this time - it's getting chilly out, and the halls of the castle have never been what one might call comfortably warm. He's wearing a sword openly, but it's not drawn - he's not that big an idiot.]
[Flandre might notice that despite having the same aura of power as Dracula, what lay at the core of Soma's was very, very different. He's still mortal, under there.]
I don't suppose you'd be willing to point me to the throne room?
no subject
I...I'm not sure which way it is. I don't go there often unless I'm wanted.
[After a moment thought it occurs to her- Flandre has never met him before and is going to turn towards him, feet hitting the ground. Her voice gets louder, trying to be somewhat concerned. Because who are you and where are you here.]
Who are you anyways? If you don't know where to go, that means you are not one who comes around often.

My name is Soma. I've been here before, but the castle's layout changes every time someone enters from outside; I don't even think I saw this room, last time. It feels... very peaceful. [Which is downright odd, for this place. What's odder, though, is the view out that window - it's not showing the Forest, or any of the other environs normally around the castle. It's not even night out there, which is decidedly odd. For his part, Soma is staying right where he's at, and keeping his voice at a respectful volume. Just because a vampire looks like a child doesn't mean they aren't thousands of years old.]
Shh...I've been kinda bluh lately
Oh, Hello Mr. Soma. It's nice to meet you.
[There is a little curtsy and her wings light up a bit more. She's trying to act lady like but her childlike mind set kills it because there is that curious tilt of her head. She stops withing a reasonable distance still.]
It is...That's why I came here. To hide away and not worry anyone. If I'm inside, they don't have to worry about me breaking things. Why were you here before?
[She's been somewhat kept innocent about a lot of things]
It's okay, I think we all have
[He folds his arms, remembering that ordeal - there was a lot more to it than that, to be sure, but that was the true core of it.] There are better ways to prevent breaking things. Being gentle, for example, in the same kind of way you might treat a teacup to keep it from shattering.

Either way... someone had tripped her perimeter wards, someone not Sakuya, Flandre or Dracula himself.
"...This isn't a good time. Come back later."
