Nova City Trick-Or-Treat Walk!

WHAT: Halloween Trick-or-Treat Walk

WHERE: Nova City, near the Guardian Skywalk
WARNINGS: Hopefully not many? Adorable trick or treaters and just goofy Halloween fun tbh. Some of the characters are still affected by the curse but this is mostly just a happy lil log.

[ While each of the Guardian and Deputies is required to have their devices on for alerts in case something does happen, most of them are in front of the Guardian Skywalk this evening for a special event! Kids can go around visiting each of the Guardians, who are all volunteering to hand out candy. There are a couple of attractions set up for the kids nearby- a ring toss, a bean bag toss, laser tag, a kettle corn stand, and a stuffed animal claw machine. It's nowhere near the size of a real carnival, just big enough to get the kids out and have some fun. Naturally, it's a safe place for everyone and it's free for anyone 13 or under. Adults are welcome if they pay with a limit of one prize per game (seriously, this is for the kids, don't be a dick).

Each of the Deputy Guardians has a huge pillowcase of candy to give out though, so feel free to go up to any one of them to chat or to get some sugary goodness, see the costumes, or just enjoy the cool night air! ]

"I suppose I could see the similarities having done plenty of people-watching myself." Mostly for recruiting purposes, but sure. But for the most part Satsuki is gradually finding herself in a better mood again as she suggests a day when to meet up.

After that, "I confess I find your dedication rather bizarre, but considering my own circumstances I do not have much room to say such things, do I?" Satsuki smirks with a shake of her head.

He chuckled. "Suppose it's the season for being bizarre, eh? Oh, almost forgot." He held out his bag. "Trick or treat!" Make with the sno-caps, Sas.

"So it would seem." When offered, Satsuki looks down to the bag. He probably shouldn't be surprised that she frowns in response.

"And since when are you thirteen?"

Ok that isn't exactly the rule but damn it she won't make it easy for him to take her lucky charms without being a target of disapproval.

[He won't be bamboozled so easily. That's just for the fair games, and only if you get more than one prize!]

"About 9 years ago, by my count."

[No stumping this math whiz.]

... Are you standing in for another youth?

He chuckled. "I suppose someone would have to; your costume might cow them into shyness. But no, just myself for tonight. Sadly, Genessia hasn't many children to spare for these outings."

Satsuki is silent for a moment, then she furrows her brows. He isn't wrong about the possible reactions about the costume but...

"Really. Are you aware you are well beyond the acceptable age for Trick or treating?"

[Gasp. Had he broken The Rules?]

"Truly? Far be it from me to transgress a holiday. What is the age for it, anyway? Perhaps there's more about Hallow's Eve I've yet to learn."

More about Hallow's Eve you've yet to learn, [She repeats.] That would certainly make two of us; the custom is celebrated differently in Japan.

From what I have gathered, the range differs between thirteen and seventeen.

[Pout for a split second]

"Oh, I'd say it can go a lot younger. All the way to three, if we're following American custom. And we might as well, though I'd be happy to learn about the oriental method."

I speak of the highest age limit, not the youngest.

[But then her brows raise. She'd be more than happy to give a lecture on her culture!]

All right. Halloween caught on in Japan near the two thousands, if I recall correctly, but the concept of trick-or-treating is not really considered appropriate.

The holiday that exists before then is-

['AHE-HEM' comes a cough from behind Ted, which belongs to a somewhat agitated mother accompanied by four children.]

[He listened with rapt attention before being cut off.]

"Gesundheit. You were saying?"

[The mother was not amused, though took some pity for Ted's crippled costume.]

"Oh! Pardon. Seems your costume wasn't so frightful after all, eh? Well, let's continue this at our next session, where hopefully I'll have more limbs to spare."

[If only Satsuki had a better sense of humor she would have laughed. Alas all Ted gets instead is a frown for his 'gesundheit'. Nothing out of the ordinary, in other words.]

That sounds reasonable. Until then.

[Though knowing her luck, one of those kids will say something adorable (read: rude) the moment Ted is out of earshot so she can't prove it.]
