Nova City Trick-Or-Treat Walk!
WHO: Nova City Guardian/Deputies + YOU
WHAT: Halloween Trick-or-Treat Walk
WHEN: Halloween, Early Evening
WHERE: Nova City, near the Guardian Skywalk
WARNINGS: Hopefully not many? Adorable trick or treaters and just goofy Halloween fun tbh. Some of the characters are still affected by the curse but this is mostly just a happy lil log.
[ While each of the Guardian and Deputies is required to have their devices on for alerts in case something does happen, most of them are in front of the Guardian Skywalk this evening for a special event! Kids can go around visiting each of the Guardians, who are all volunteering to hand out candy. There are a couple of attractions set up for the kids nearby- a ring toss, a bean bag toss, laser tag, a kettle corn stand, and a stuffed animal claw machine. It's nowhere near the size of a real carnival, just big enough to get the kids out and have some fun. Naturally, it's a safe place for everyone and it's free for anyone 13 or under. Adults are welcome if they pay with a limit of one prize per game (seriously, this is for the kids, don't be a dick).
Each of the Deputy Guardians has a huge pillowcase of candy to give out though, so feel free to go up to any one of them to chat or to get some sugary goodness, see the costumes, or just enjoy the cool night air! ]

Weiss!
It would also shove the Deputies at the people, which she wanted to make sure they got plenty of face-time. Like it or not, politics is a part of this job and being a friendly face is part of making people feel safe.
But honestly? She had started to have fun. A little inspiration from some conversations with people here and Weiss had come as a variation on Snow White, though with no wig and her long white hair simply braided in a French braid over her shoulder. She might not be an archer by trade, but she seems to do well enough to be able to shoot little darts with ice dust packets on the end of them to show off as tricks to entertain the kids, and the candy she's giving out, of course, are caramel apples on sticks. ]

He flies up a few feet in the air, his voice...not quite booming because his evil voice isn't that great.]
I'm afraid your ice arrows won't stop me, Snow White! I'm here to take all your caramel apples and take over the kingdom!
no subject
We'll see about that, Arc... Enemy!
[ One of the kids laughs at that. Just one. Weiss rolls her eyes
she's funny damnitand fires two darts, two chunks of ice attaching to his armor when she does, but overall not really doing much. Weiss takes a step back, then looks at the kids. ]I may need your help on this, everyone. Quick, run to the ice chest and grab as much of the snow from the snow chest [ actually just a decorated ice chest with snocone ice in it, but it works and it won't teach kids to throw hard things ] as you can carry while I distract him. Snow angels are his greatest weakness, so if a bunch of good kids like you throw snow at him, I'm sure it'll work.
[ Almost all of the kids run off except one of the ones behind Weiss, who is apparently crying and Weiss looks.. a little perplexed at what to do. She glances back at Jaune for a second, then kneels down to talk to the kid, whispering to him while the other kids make their way back to her side with little cups of flavorless sno cones as fast as they can. ]

Your puns can't punish me! Swords and stones might break my bones, but words can never--
[He pretends to stumble back upon impact. Then he really does stumble back. Flying in the air, he circles the area behind her, giving the kids time to gather the snocone ammunition needed to defeat him.]
It's true that snow angels might be enough to save the kingdom. But only if you brave heroines and heroes throw as much snow as you can! [He's going to attempt his best evil laugh which is nothing compared to Sun's laugh, when he hears the crying. He freezes in midair, nodding at Weiss and waiting to see if she can help him calm down. Meanwhile, he ducks to a corner, where he put the costume prop to the side. It's just a simple plastic toy shield, light enough for a kid to hold.]
I almost forgot. I stole this from your kingdom last time we met, when you tried to use it against me. It's a very special shield because it protects the hero it chooses, but it's also so powerful that it can protect his friends when they're nearby. [Waving it around like it's nothing.] If only there was someone who-- Wha--!
[He's had a lot of practice with almost dropping his own weapons, so it's not a challenge to intentionally drop it near Weiss and the crying kid and make it look accidental.
Cringe. Face in hands.]
Oh no! It still has magic in it!

And here I thought the red hood thing was a Ruby exclusive thing. She'd be so flattered to see you wearing one.

[ A beat. ]
Aren't you supposed to dress up as something you're not for Halloween?
no subject
I'm not usually a vampire. So this feels like fair game. [He takes his device out of his pocket.] I do I hope I change back at some point, though.
[He says as he snaps a picture of Weiss all casually like.]

Jaune
His costume? An evil knight, because it was Halloween and it seemed like a fun idea. He still had wings and horns, which helped him hold up the whole image.
Sometimes he'll fly up and try to do a cool trick for the kids, not always successfully. He's not used to being in the spotlight, and he doesn't care about politics, but somehow this is easier than going to a party and forcing himself to socialize. The candy he hands out is an assortment of different things, but he swears the best candy is the dinosaur gummies.]

She pinches the bridge of her nose for a moment before she offers him a hand.]
And what was that supposed to be, exactly?
(OOC: Hope this is ok, if not I will change!)
no subject
A landing strategy.
no subject
[For a moment she stares at him in silence, uncertain if that was a joke or if he's serious. Eventually she clears her throat, as several popped kernels bounce off her head.]
And your evaluation of the results?
[Because she'd be more than happy to give her own. A very lengthy one at that.]

Artanis
But it's for the children. Artanis is always willing to do something for children, regardless of their race. So he's there, carrying a bag of candy to hand out. No costume, though -- he's an alien. He doesn't need one.]
no subject
[ She knows that it's not exactly easy to comprehend Halloween. Even if he doesn't understand it, he still came to help out, so she's of course going to express that she's grateful. Particularly since she has no doubt that some of the kids are probably going to try to hang off of him since he's a huge alien. ]
no subject
[Artanis has been a bit awkward with the children, though not for a lack of trying. He's shown some of them a few of his powers for their entertainment, such as short-range teleportation and levitation, which they seem to enjoy well enough.]
And I am glad to do something specifically for the children of this realm.

[ It's a nice motivator and reminder of why they're fighting, hopefully. ]
Though I won't lie, I still am not sure dressing up and being given candy is the soundest of solutions for quelling demons.

"Goodness, sir! Even in Nova City I've never seen anything quite that exotic. What do you call it?"

Satsuki
So there the Deputy Guardian stands, her lower form that of a snake and the upper adorn in a white and red combat skirt normally associated with Weiss Schnee's attire. Why she was even able to get a 24 hours spell cast on her to make her hair white, so all she needed to do was put it up and the scar duplicated with make-up. On top of that she's handing out fun-sized Sno-Caps. It was a brilliant plan!
However in execution things didn't go exactly as planned. When handing out candy, there are several common reactions:
1) "The real Weiss is prettier."
2) "The real Weiss' eyebrows don't look like that!"
or
3) Her appearance makes the child burst into tears.
before moving on, leaving her scowling and a bit embarrassed. Little snot nosed brats.
no subject
Weiss honestly couldn't figure it out. People usually went as either something they really liked, a monster, or a parody. Needless to say she's been trying to figure Satsuki's out since she saw it and just finally decided to speak up.
no subject
She avoids having to choose one of the two offered emotions on purpose. "I was going for 'impressed'; not just anyone could convincingly pull off Nova City's..." she opts to pause rather than say 'second best'. "Guardian, wouldn't you say?"
She then crosses her arms, "Though given the young ones reactions, perhaps it is not as perfect as I originally thought after all."
no subject
Weiss looks like she's trying to put her finger on it without accidentally insulting herself.
"Less angry and more mildly judgey in a regal way. I don't scowl. They call me ice queen, not anger management queen. Which I know you aren't but with how mad you look right now that might be why people aren't responding how you hope."
Though it could also be the eyebrows and the fact that Satsuki is around 5'5" naturally whereas Weiss only reaches 5'3" with her 4 inch heels on.

Re: Satsuki
What he hadn't gotten used to at all was her costume. So much so that he could've sworn this was a new arrival entirely. A snake-woman! He's pretty sure they made eye contact and, so far he hadn't turned to stone, so it probably wasn't a gorgon. Might as well clamber up to her and say 'hi'.
"Good evening, miss...actually I don't know your name; never seen you before actually. That's either a very interesting costume, or you've a very interesting form."
He'll piece it together once he hears the voice. Until then....
no subject
However something else happens, that ends up being a bit that, frankly, is impossible not to chomp down upon. She had her doubts how good her costume was thanks to those damned kids, but now her confidence has been restored and she actually wants to see where things could go if she doesn't talk.
Eventually she decides it wouldn't be worth the time. "Satsuki Kiryuin," she replies. "And why would it have to be one or the other?" As far as she's concerned, she makes for a damn good naga.
no subject
[gasp!]
"Star, that's you! Ah, but then I forget your penchant for dramatics. Once again you spare no expense; it looks so real." So much so he'll try and touch those scales for himself. Just to check. It doesn't cross his mind that she fell under the sway of Halloween sorcery too.
"A form and a costume, eh? Oh, like a frog prince. Are you a snake princess, then, awaiting true love's kiss? Something almost Edenic about that."
