Cherry Blossom Viewing Party
WHO: Raye Hino, OPEN
WHAT: The cherry blossom trees are in full bloom, so this calls for aweeaboo picnic party traditional social gathering to relax, eat food, and admire the view. And maybe shenanigans.
WHEN: April 27, 2014 - All Day
WHERE: Genessia City - Shrine
NOTES: Feel free to make your own threads! Just indicate if the thread is open, or locked to just a few. HAVE FUN OR ELSE!
Raye had indicated that the weather would be favorable on Sunday, so when the rain started coming down over the weekend, she got angry. And she ranted at the spirits, who didn't bother responding to her demands for pleasant weather to encourage attendance at the shrine. But to her relief, Sunday morning brought blue skies after all. Whether that was the spirit's doing, or if the skies were going to clear up on their own, who could say? Raye didn't care so long as she got results.
She rushed to the temple as soon as she was dressed in order to put up the paper lanterns once more...and to throw out her blanket on the spot she thought was the best for watching cherry blossoms. If no one else had claimed it first, then she was within her rights to aggressively stake her territory, especially if she was going to spend the day with Jaune and Minako, possibly some of her other friends as well. She hoped Harry would show up, but Everglade had a lot going on, so it wouldn't surprise her if he couldn't. She'd lecture him about it later.
Hastily she swept up the courtyard and tossed feed at the chickens, trying to take care of her daily chores before the first of the party-goers arrived. She'd worked hard to make this tradition a success, and no one...no one...was going to ruin it. Or they would face her wrath.

Adam found himself laughing slightly at that. It wasn't full of energy, but it wasn't bitter or mocking either.
"No, we couldn't have you doing that now. It would be a sight to see, though," she was by far the strangest human he had ever interacted with.

It then occurred to her that this was the first time she'd heard him laugh. Not chuckle, but laugh! It was a little quiet, but yay! YAY! The greatest compliment anyone could pay to Orihime had nothing to do with her looks, or her abilities: it was her comedy. She found herself liking Adam more and more with each passing moment.
"I thought about opening a Gateway to my world, once. I was pretty homesick. But my friend convinced me not to, so I'm afraid I can't show you around Karakura Town." There was Soul Society, but she wasn't sure how the shinigami would react to two Ryoka suddenly strolling around their streets. Probably not a smart idea.

As for Adam... he found the girl to be interesting, most definitely. There was just something off about her that he hadn't quite seen in other humans, and she actually hadn't annoyed him yet.
"Why did they convince you not to do it?" he didn't see why she should be talked out of that, honestly.

She felt a little ache at the thought of Dean's absence, and she smiled down at the blanket. "I hope he comes back. I knew him better than anyone else here, he was a really good friend." It would be fun to eat lunch together with him again, and see the look of sheer bliss on his face whenever he ate a piece of pie.
"It probably seems silly, though. Not many people place a lot of value in hair."
no subject
"Hmm..." Adam thought to himself, debating whether or not he should even comment about what she said. He didn't think that hair was all that important, but...
"I suppose it would be like if someone told me to cut off my horns," he gestured to them, "there are things that are important to you that someone else might not understand."
...Maybe? He might just be talking nonsense, but he tried to think up a similar scenario.
no subject
"It's a lot like that," she agreed. "...But probably a lot less painful." Actually, she didn't know if he could feel anything around his horns or not, but she was sure he'd be able to feel the pressure if someone took a saw to his horns. Somehow, the thought of him without the horns didn't sit easy with her. They were very much a part of him, not just physically, but a mark of his pride and spirit as well.
"Thanks, Adam-san."

Adam glanced up, tilting his head back a little as well. It was like he was trying to glance at his own horns, but he knew that he couldn't, "and yours would grow back," the very thought of someone trying to take a saw to his horns sent a shiver down his spine. No, he would very much like to keep them.
"Hm- are you sure you're a human?" he meant that in the best possible way, actually.
no subject
The point. Orihime had missed it completely. She just thought she was laying to fear his worries that she was some weird and frightening extraplanar creature in human form.
no subject
Oh well. He figured that they might as well move away from that topic. He had heard some interesting things from her, but in time he'll have to see how it'll all play out once they're back in Vale.
"...I sometimes forget to take care of myself, mostly with eating," where could he possibly be going with this, "so... perhaps tomorrow you could make me something as well."
And come over. Or something. He cleared his throat and just looked away from her, his frown there but for entirely different reasons. Once more, he was trying to be a bit more civil by at least offering some kind of invitation for her to come over.
no subject
Maybe all he wanted was some company.
She blinked again, holding a finger to her chin inquisitively. "You mean...you want to share dinner together? From now on?"
no subject
He almost sounded annoyed, but it was more the fact that he was feeling a little embarrassed. The Faunus huffed, then looked back to her and his frown deepened.
...Well. Not like it would be a big loss or anything if she turned him down. He would just have to go back to doing what he did before and... eat whenever he remembered to.
no subject
"I'd love that, Adam-san," she smiled, and inclined her head in gratitude. "My cooking isn't always that great, though. So if there's something you don't like...you'll say so, ne?"
