Accidental Video | Action to ANYONE NEAR HIS SHITTY SHOP
[It's uncomfortable, hearing that wheeze from this channel. The communicator seems to have been carelessly swatted to the floor as he passed by it, considering that it caught the tail end of his retreating shape before it slumped heavily into a chair.
He's gray. Grayer than usual, pale blue in the lips and fingers and obviously cold and sick. Clearly, the steaming drink he has, too dark to be any normal blend of tea, isn't doing whatever job he expected it to.
Whatever is going on, his lips haven't stopped moving once, a shaking hand carefully thumbing each and every bead on the rosary. Prayers, probably.
He has some kind of tic. A constant jerk towards the window, as if he heard something from there, before he digs at an ear with his pinky. Tinnitus maybe? Whatever the issue is, the faded glare finally lands on the blinking light of the communicator, and he hurls a book sitting on the table at it, before struggling to get up and shut the stupid thing off]
Dúr, maith do rud ar bith, briste píosa truflais! Éist suas!

Re: [Action]
[He's making tea out of them, steeping them both in the same cup of hot water and adding a helping of honey to it. Less for sweetness, more for an anti-bacterial.]
Fayren tis too far behind, everything else thrown too forward. I'm comfortable here.
[Even if he was clearly sick]
[Action]
[Being in Everglade was bad enough. Being there in a rundown place was worse.
He immediately got the fire up and roaring again, but as he sat down he started waving his hand about. It didn't really 'cause' the fire to move so much as moving his hand helped him concentrate on where he was moving it. And, he started swirling it about mindlessly like a kid with a sparkler.]
Re: [Action]
Tis important to save.
[Action]
...D-Do you want me to help you?

Re: [Action]
[That's right. He's not leaving]
Somewhere I can get supplies for livin' easier.

I-It was never a problem at home...
Re: [Action]

But here... Here they hit everything.
Re: [Action]

[A moment of silence, and the room was getting fairly toasty by now. His fire was much more effective than a fireplace, being able to dance around and be huge in the middle of a room.
At the same time, the magic, luckily, didn't produce a bunch of smoke.]
Are... Are you ever going to visit m-my home?
Re: [Action]
[Less of a chance of getting his lungs full of freezing water.]
I'm sure ye have a lovely home, Bracken. I'd rather see it when I'm well. So I can enjoy it.
[Action]
[He was already excited for Cassian's visit. There wasn't all that much there yet, anyway, but he was still proud of it. No doubt it would be more luxurious than Cassian usually lived in by the time he visited.
He glanced by Cassian, where he had been making a mixture with the herbs.]
Wh-What were those herbs for?
Re: [Action]
[At least he was actually smiling a little this time]
For calmin' swollen bronchi, easin' pneumonia an' the honey is an antibiotic. Helps kill whatever it is that's taken root in there.
[Action]
He listened earnestly, whether he would remember that from this one experience or not. He really thought highly of Cassian's knowledge, and was hungry to learn some of it.]
Wh-Where did you learn so much about her... herbs?
Re: [Action]
[Best not to speak of the other book she left him, the one attached to the belt on his hip by a chain]
Some of the seeds in it don't exist anymore, sadly.
[Action]
[For some reason, even though he knew they existed, it was a little strange to hear about someone's parents. Like he forgot that they were a thing and people weren't individual entities born from the air.]
Re: [Action]
[Bound in ancient but well cared for hide and written on velum so it seemed, it had a clasp that wasn't shut so Bracken was more than welcome to flip it open]
[Action]
Walking over to the book, he scanned the cover first before very cautiously picking it up. He might have been a lot of things, but a klutz wasn't particularly one of them, and he was careful with other people's valuables.
His movements were slow as he stepped back by Cassian and sat down so that he could rest the book on his lap. When he opened it, he did so as if he was worried that it could crack, watching for any issues as he moved the cover. He didn't dare bring harm to Cassian's precious possession.
As Cassian had said, he couldn't read it. But, even if it had been in English he wouldn't have been able to go through it very fast. Illustrations had been a huge help to him when he had bought his own herb book.]
Do... Do you think you could r-read it to me?
Re: [Action]
Aye, I suppose I could. Which one catches your eye?
