[The water ripples, sending soft echo's through the cave. Terra's eyes flutter open and set their sight on the cave's ceiling. She brings her hand to her head watching the water drip down her forearm.]

Water?

[She turns and feels a weight on her chest tumble away. Terra feels the water trail down her back as she reaches for the box that now lay below the tide. She stands and opens the box taking note of its irregular content. After stashing the items in her bag she moves towards the light of the exit.]

[She stops at the sign, reading the words carefully.]

This isn't home?

[She reaches down into her bag bringing the communicator out. After a deep breath she turns it on reaching out to those listening.]

Hello?

I don't know.

The sign says that I am not home but ...

[Terra reaches for her head feeling a sharp pain behind her eyes.]

I don't remember.

Hmm.. Well, it's true that you're not ..wherever your home is. This is a completely different world. But..when you say you don't remember, what do you mean? You don't remember coming here? ... or you don't remember anything at all?

[Terra shakes her head as the pain subsides.]

I don't remember anything but I see flashes of things and then my head hurts.

I see... do you remember hurting yourself before you woke up here?

[Terra shakes her head unsure of what else to say. She hopes that her memory will return on it's own but there isn't any guarantee.]

...

I don't know what to do.

Don't try to force it.. I know it's frustrating, but you have to let your memories come back in time. I... had a friend who was in the same situation as you. We traveled together, to help her recover her memories, and in the end she did remember herself. [ ...she really missed her too. ]

[Terra inclines her head slightly before looking back at the screen.]

Listen, if you need any help, I'll be glad to help you out. It's kind of not the first time I've been thrown into a new world out of nowhere like this. And it's easier to adjust when there's a friendly face around.

I am not really sure where to start.

Well... take it little at a time first. ... do you have somewhere safe to stay? [ Probably not, considering. And really, Terra's situation reminded her so much of Eclair, she couldn't help but want to help. .. well, she'd want to help anyway, but. ]

[Safe?] No, is this place dangerous?

It can be, if you're not careful. There are places in Fayren, outside of town, where there are monsters that lurk sometimes. Everglade may be the most dangerous - not all the monsters there are human.

There's an inn in Fayren, that I can vouch for as being perfectly safe - and the innkeeper is really nice. She helped me out a lot when I first arrived with my friends. It's not far from where my guild is either.

[Terra takes a look at the money she had. She doesn't remember having a lot of experience with money but maybe the Innkeeper would help. Still, one word she had said stuck out in her mind.]

Yes! Fairy Tail is a wizard's guild. A lot of people come to us if they need help exerminating monsters or escorting them somewhere dangerous, or even if they need something minor as finding lost items.

You're all wizards? Does that mean all of you can use magic too?

Yep! Different kinds too. Well, everyone except for the children. But they're so in awe of magic in spite of everything, that they might decide to learn it for themselves too.

You can learn magic too? How do you do that?

[She has magic but she had been born with it. How can others learn magic?]

Most of the others in the guild here already had the capacity for magic - it just depended on what form the magic took. After that, independent study or mentoring is usually the most common way for someone to learn magic.

That seems a little different from what I know. I was born with magic. [It has already been a lot to take in and she isn't sure what to even start believing.]

So was I - most of the people in Fiore in fact, are born with magic. We use it to help out other guilds, or people who don't have magic, who need help with something - like clearing out monsters, and such.

That sounds like a really nice thing to do. Is it alright if I stop by?

[ Lucy brightens, nodding. ]

Yes, of course! Anyone is welcome to visit the guild. Here, let me send you directions.

[ A few seconds later, and Lucy's sent off the directions on how to get to the guild from Fayren. It's a pretty straight shot from the village, really. ]

Thank you. [Terra feels her heart lift a little at the thought of meeting others that might be like her. She looks at her communicator and waits for the map to be displayed on the screen.]

[ And seconds later there's the ping of the map! Now you can add it to your inventor-- oh wait. ]

I hope we'll get to see you soon, Terra!

[How long had it been since something interesting happened? Long enough for time to stop meaning anything to Kefka. So, at least a minute. He was casually floating over a building, debating blowing it up when something pinged him. A voice, and more. The voice from his communicator started his mind in ways he hadn't experienced since getting here. Sure Fairy Tail was good for a laugh or two, but none of them could really match his potential as far as he knew or cared. And then there was the aura. That sweet, tantalizing aura of power.]

[He didn't even need to listen to the post to know. Terra was in town. And things were about to get all the livelier for it. He made his way over to the bay, teleporting inside and sticking to the rooftop, and thus the shadows. He watched for a moment before floating downward, hands mimicking a marionette's puppeteer before he speaks.]

Well well... Look what the Cait dragged in... it's about time you showed up, my dear~!

[Terra feels her skin crawl before he even came into view. As soon as he appears she knows exactly who he is. Images of his technicolor appearance flash in her head as she looks back into her memory. Her head swims with pain causing her vision to blur. She steps back into the wall of the cave using it as support to stay standing.]

Kefka?

[Is he there to take her back? But this isn't home. She doesn't want to go. Everything is so confusing.]

[Kefka's eyes automatically dart to Terra's forehead, noting the lack of a slave crown. Still, this was in line with projected side effects of the device, meaning that the time frame Terra was plucked from was close to the events in Narshe. Perfect.]

Good, you remember your uncle Kefka~! I was so worried about you.

[He floats over, resting a hand on Terra's shoulder, testing just how far he could push this charade.]

You were sent on a mission to Narshe, but a monster attacked and you were wounded. I had feared the worst and came looking for you when I woke up here. It is good to see you are unharmed, my dear~

Uncle?

[Her own feelings are unsure. Something seems off. She remembers his face and the feelings it evokes but she can't place what the feeling is. Is he going to take her home? Is that good or bad?]

What are you doing here then? This isn't home.

[Kefka just nods and slips his arm around Terra's shoulders, steering her out toward the city at large.]

I'm not sure where this is, but I do know one thing. The Returners are here, and plotting to do horrible things. They're operating under the guise of a 'guild' called Fairy Tail, as ridiculous as that sounds. They value magical power over everything. They have already marked me as one of the Empire's generals, so I can't do anything...

I need you to infiltrate them, my dear. And together we can bring down this rogue element and secure the safety of the Empire~!

[Terra watches the ground as they walk, listening to her Uncle's words. She is part of the Empire. Which means that the Returners would hurt her if they knew but they had magic.]

They have magic?

[The word 'magic' echos in her mind causing the pain in her head to spike. Her knees weakened and she tumbled to the ground. Her memories slowly waking in her minds.]

[He nods, trying not to grin too wide.]

It would seem that they have stolen a significant amount of my Magitek research and equipment. We need to recover it, but first we need to eliminate these rebels. Can you do that for me, Terra~?

[Terra remembers working for the Empire and seeing their plans lay out before her. Her own feelings are so far away. She looks up at Kefka feeling the pain in her head subside and nods. It is her job. Isn't it?]

[Kefka just grins back at her, trying his best to look reassuring... though given how much practice he's had, he's not all that good at it.]

Don't worry, Terra. I'll be close by to assist you should you need it. Trust me, Terra~! Trust your uncle Kefka.

[Terra still feels uneasy but this person knows her and she remembered his face. It is better than being alone.]
