[The first thing he had tried was lying to get something he wanted. Stealing wasn't that hard when everyone knew your face as one of Weiss' deputies and he knew no matter what he did people still thought he was this cute, harmless kid. So really, it was their fault for being so trusting. Jaune had learned his lesson already. He didn't trust anyone. He still wanted his friends around though. "Friends". Despite everything, he still felt attached to them somehow. He couldn't imagine life without them.

But he was tired of them treating him like he was stupid, a nuisance, someone to be protected. He hadn't done anything before because he was incapable of it. He had held back because it would hurt them. But maybe they needed to get hurt to realize how wrong they were. Talking hadn't helped. Doing the right thing only meant he was little more than Weiss' blind follower, and what good had that done him or even Weiss herself? Weiss had been right. If people didn't believe in him, he would prove it to them.

If he went after innocent people, the people who liked him wouldn't like him anymore-- and there was no point. He had nothing against them as long as they stayed away. For now, anyway. He knew what it was like to be helpless. It was the monsters who hurt other people that he wanted to see hurt.]

[It had been laundry day. Jaune's wearing a different outfit today. He's also blatantly wearing a red and gold bracelet on his right wrist. He knew what it would look like to other people who knew him well enough, and those are the people he's seeking to manipulate. The risks of getting caught basically stealing it are outweighed by the advantage of making his point. He might not outright physically harm his friends, but he'll do whatever he thinks is necessary to hurt the people who hurt the--him.]

Hey, it's the incompetent idiot again here to talk to you about something way more interesting and lucrative than free totes. It's always felt like that being normal is actually more unusual than being super-powered here. I'm not normal, but I'm also not capable of destroying entire cities and I won't pretend that I am.

I don't know if half of what everyone here claims is actually true, and you do have those abilities, or if you're just full of shit.

Actually, I think it might be the second option. [Shrug.] That's not my point. I need to find someone. I'm sure most of you know her, Emerald Sustrai. She's very good with words and manipulating other people. Good people, like a lot of you are. I wish that's where the threat ended, but she aided in murdering someone very important to me. I won't lie and say I won't hurt her when I find her. Think about what you would do if it happened to you, or someone you loved, except it really happened to me. She is going to burn for what she did. But I need your help.

If anyone has any information about where I can find her, I'll pay you 200 red bills upfront. But wait-- [Smirking.] If your information turns out to be useful, and you're not just lying because you're another greedy corrupted fuck, I'll reward you with 5000 red bills for your efforts. [Where would he get that much money? Nowhere legal.]

So yeah, help me find her and stuff and I won't have to cause property damage to do the right thing. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. [He really doesn't sound like he's hoping it doesn't come to that.]

[After that announcement, Jaune will seeking out his friends and family, visiting the places he most frequently sees them. Occasionally, he might see someone committing a crime. Instead of arresting them and waiting for the cops, he starts to beating them up, until he gets tired of it or they stop putting up a fight and he continues looking for a select few people. Hopefully no one saw that. He might accidentally run into a stranger or acquaintance, stopping in shock and frowning apologetically. He's good at pretending to care, because he remembers being able to care about strangers.]

Sorry, are you okay? [And he'll extend his hand to help them up, offering a sheepish smile.]

[Overall, Jaune considers himself pretty adaptable. He's better at reacting than planning, and he doesn't let himself get stuck in a single mindset. But right now he feels stuck, and he can't pinpoint why. He just wants nothing more than to be around his friends. Looking pensive, his better half heads for Remnant House, as well as Dave and Jeff's apartment. If he sees someone else he knows on his way, he'll probably stop to talk to them.]

[Luckily, Nora hadn't seen Jaune's post, as she was packing a duffle bag. As soon as she's finished, Nora slings the bag over her shoulder, grabs Loki to place him into the cat carrie,r and starts to head out. She didn't expect Jaune to walk through the house. So much for making a quiet escape.]

[Seeing Nora isn't that surprising. But when he catches sight of the duffle back and cat carrier, he feels a sense of dread. He thinks he has an idea of why she's leaving. That doesn't stop him from looking absolutely devastated.]

Just for a little while. [She tugs on the bag strap running across her chest.] Just to think! [A small smile forms on her face.] Get a new surrounding. [The smile fades, despite her intentions to reassure him. Her eyes look off to the side, looking pretty down.]

[ running into someone you're actually seeking out is a funny coincidence but it does happen. especially when they weren't paying the slightest bit of attention because they're holding their device a little too close to their face than the average person and still walking with it. ran into jaune head-first and actually knocked himself over instead of the guy having anything to do with it.

he didn't see that announcement yet. he was up to weiss'. the announcement before it. what timing. ]

[there's a flicker of excitement when he realizes it's dave. he'd rather run into him any day than just a random stranger.

his grip seems less clinical than it would have been otherwise, and he nods.]

Actually, I was looking for you. And stopping crime while I was at it, y'know. Just multitasking.

So, uh, if you're not busy, you wanna come along? [he's trying his hardest to come across as the goofy older brother dave is accustomed to.]

[An exasperated sigh escapes Regis as he tries to make sense of all this. Between Weiss' sudden announcement and this proclamation of vengeance, he can just tell this is going to end poorly. Everything is being announced and done with such great haste it without a sliver of thought.]

[Oh, hey, he remembers you. This was the guy who (from his point of view), insulted all of Weiss' hard work and effort.

With no desire to respect his elders, he actually snorts. He's met people like Regis, and they were usually okay with things like revenge, until they no longer benefited from it.]

[It's Ruby's first weekend, so she was exploring around the city, really soaking in the sights and sounds of her new home. She saw Jaune's earlier video, and think in connection to Weiss, there was just...too much going on, so she left a video message.]

If what you said is true, then I'll do what I can to help you and assist you.

[Although Emerald is one of those people that she thinks Weiss is trying to protect using her power and authority as a guardian. She wanted to ask more questions, but with the mention of murder, and Weiss's explanation last night as to why she wanted Mercury as a deputy...her friends are so off the normal spectrum, in her opinion. Whether her friends are in their right minds is up in the air for debate, Ruby wanted to help them no matter what...even if their choices are rather morally dubious.

Anyway, the Remnant house is becoming...too tense for her to stay, so she moved to Heaven's Court apartment to get some privacy and space.

It's nearing lunch time, and hungry Ruby is looking for a place that sells burgers when she noticed Jaune walking down the block.]

Hey Jaune. I seen your video this morning. I haven't found the person you're looking for.

[As pleased as one facet of Jaune was that he had someone of Ruby's caliber on his side, the Jaune Ruby approached has no idea about any video. He stops, looking confused, but sincere.]

Hey, Ruby. I'm not sure what you mean. I didn't make a video. Not recently, anyway.

[After the disaster that was his last video, and everything that had recently happened, he didn't feel up to going on the network very often.]

[Ruby has no idea that Jaune is split into good and bad. So the poor girl looks confused at his statement.]

[At that, she sighed. He doesn't seem to remembered it? But she's pretty sure the video is in his own voice and it's detailed and articulate. It seems everyone's seem so...off today, and Ruby thinks everyone is in a bad mood - was it linked to Weiss somehow? She thinks it's all connected.]

Well, nevermind, I guess? [Ruby doesn't want to press it, but then, this is all suspicious and she is naturally concerned for her friends.]

From what he gathers here, killing is very much frowned upon, even against one who would so easily kill the innocent. [ In most cases Jefferson would have thought a bit harder before reacting to what he'd just seen. It wasn't that he hadn't thought about it, but most of those thoughts occurred within the span of a minute or two. Maybe not even that long. But there was no point in thinking about it when the fact was that nothing he could come up with made sense. Not a single thing about the entire situation made sense, and there was no doubt that showed in his face. ]
