12th Aura | Action & Video (Choose A Side)
[The first thing he had tried was lying to get something he wanted. Stealing wasn't that hard when everyone knew your face as one of Weiss' deputies and he knew no matter what he did people still thought he was this cute, harmless kid. So really, it was their fault for being so trusting. Jaune had learned his lesson already. He didn't trust anyone. He still wanted his friends around though. "Friends". Despite everything, he still felt attached to them somehow. He couldn't imagine life without them.
But he was tired of them treating him like he was stupid, a nuisance, someone to be protected. He hadn't done anything before because he was incapable of it. He had held back because it would hurt them. But maybe they needed to get hurt to realize how wrong they were. Talking hadn't helped. Doing the right thing only meant he was little more than Weiss' blind follower, and what good had that done him or even Weiss herself? Weiss had been right. If people didn't believe in him, he would prove it to them.
If he went after innocent people, the people who liked him wouldn't like him anymore-- and there was no point. He had nothing against them as long as they stayed away. For now, anyway. He knew what it was like to be helpless. It was the monsters who hurt other people that he wanted to see hurt.]

[It had been laundry day. Jaune's wearing a different outfit today. He's also blatantly wearing a red and gold bracelet on his right wrist. He knew what it would look like to other people who knew him well enough, and those are the people he's seeking to manipulate. The risks of getting caught basically stealing it are outweighed by the advantage of making his point. He might not outright physically harm his friends, but he'll do whatever he thinks is necessary to hurt the people who hurt the--him.]
Hey, it's the incompetent idiot again here to talk to you about something way more interesting and lucrative than free totes. It's always felt like that being normal is actually more unusual than being super-powered here. I'm not normal, but I'm also not capable of destroying entire cities and I won't pretend that I am.
I don't know if half of what everyone here claims is actually true, and you do have those abilities, or if you're just full of shit.
Actually, I think it might be the second option. [Shrug.] That's not my point. I need to find someone. I'm sure most of you know her, Emerald Sustrai. She's very good with words and manipulating other people. Good people, like a lot of you are. I wish that's where the threat ended, but she aided in murdering someone very important to me. I won't lie and say I won't hurt her when I find her. Think about what you would do if it happened to you, or someone you loved, except it really happened to me. She is going to burn for what she did. But I need your help.
If anyone has any information about where I can find her, I'll pay you 200 red bills upfront. But wait-- [Smirking.] If your information turns out to be useful, and you're not just lying because you're another greedy corrupted fuck, I'll reward you with 5000 red bills for your efforts. [Where would he get that much money? Nowhere legal.]
So yeah, help me find her and stuff and I won't have to cause property damage to do the right thing. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. [He really doesn't sound like he's hoping it doesn't come to that.]

[After that announcement, Jaune will seeking out his friends and family, visiting the places he most frequently sees them. Occasionally, he might see someone committing a crime. Instead of arresting them and waiting for the cops, he starts to beating them up, until he gets tired of it or they stop putting up a fight and he continues looking for a select few people. Hopefully no one saw that. He might accidentally run into a stranger or acquaintance, stopping in shock and frowning apologetically. He's good at pretending to care, because he remembers being able to care about strangers.]
Sorry, are you okay? [And he'll extend his hand to help them up, offering a sheepish smile.]

[Overall, Jaune considers himself pretty adaptable. He's better at reacting than planning, and he doesn't let himself get stuck in a single mindset. But right now he feels stuck, and he can't pinpoint why. He just wants nothing more than to be around his friends. Looking pensive, his better half heads for Remnant House, as well as Dave and Jeff's apartment. If he sees someone else he knows on his way, he'll probably stop to talk to them.]

Obviously it's been me this whole time. I'm the mastermind, the final boss. Now that the Big Reveal has happened, you'll have to face me. After I be right back. [He shoots Dave a completely dorky, harmless smile and steps outside for a few minutes before stepping back in.]

'Kay. [ a thumbs up at jaune, sipping away the smoothie. he stands there, occupied with the drink. at one point he tries checking his phone again and has to put it back away and hold his head. no. brain freeze.
must... keep drinking smoothie though... too delicious. talking around his straw. ]
'aight. What is it? [ he moves next to jaune, ready to follow him ]

A new sunglasses shop. I think it's called Cloudy Days or something like that. [He'll wait until they're further away from anyone who knows Jaune.]
I figured a break wouldn't hurt.

No shit? I didn't know they opened a new one. I'm fucking down for that. Are you just, like, taking me because I got all weird, like - [ pauses. sips. ] Like, however long ago in there? You probably could use a break though. Do you get breaks? Are you even getting paid?

What? No. I mean yes, I feel bad about that, but that's not the only reason. I just thought this would be more fun for us both. Not official ones, but if nothing's going on I can always stop by and grab something to eat. [shakes his head.] This is all volunteer work I do when I'm not actually working.

[ he looks curiously up at him but seems to agree. he just shrugs off any idea about anything being out of place off. s h r u g. he's got an apple smoothie. jaune's going to go sunglasses shopping. life is good today. whatever. ]
So you get like... lunch breaks and you're putting way more into this than I would've ever. Dude. You make me feel like I don't have my shit together in life. I mean, I'm basically monopolizing visual media here but you're doing all this extra heroic shit and I'm honestly just fucking around.

[He actually looks like he might be pouting, a little affronted and flustered, but he shrugs and puts his hoodie back on.]
You're wrong. You're doing what makes you happy. At least I'm assuming you are. And knowing that you can do that in a place that's relatively safe...that makes me happy too. I'm doing this because I have to. I don't know what else to do.

[ curse you catchy nelly song. jaune already put the hoodie back on. all well. dave sinks into the jacket he's wearing a little. takes a long sip. jaune's happy if he is and that makes him feel all warm and fuzzy. nice and loved.

That's kind of depressing as shit to hear, Jaune. But I can't say I haven't been there. I'm kind of still there I guess. You just need to, like, focus on what you enjoy and translate it somehow. You like movies? You see if you can make one.
