Forward dated to After The Water Event because something something something

Who: Cassian (Now as one person) and Amberdrake
Where: Attleton, at Drake's office
Why: We've all learned an important life lesson about punching tigers.

So... returning to one body was actually a lot less painful than one would imagine. Rather it sort of happened while both halves were asleep.

The painful part, on top of clashing memories, was the insane amount of physical damage. All of it. Just all the physical damage ever. Is his jaw broken? Shit there's holes in him too holy fuck how did those get there- Oh his ribs were broken again.

... Welp.

There was always Drake, but as Cassian recalled... Drake didn't much care for Everglade. And he really didn't need this to be more trouble than it already was.

Which was why, a good... hour or more later, Amberdrake would get a visitor.

In Attleton.

In a very thick obscuring cloak, not that it'd matter due to the fact that one of them was an empath and the other one was walking around with like more than three broken bones at a time.

"True," Tannusen relaxed a little when his teasing didn't earn an immediate verbal back-hand.

This was so surreal, though.

"Aye." Well. Now this is awkward. What do you do when you admit you like someone after you eat their heart anyway.

"... I'm going to admit I've run out of things to say. The situation has drifted too far out of me field of expertise."

Tannusen folded his hands in his lap, and chuckled. "The two thousand year old virgin doesn't know how to do small-talk? I'm shocked. Well, here's something -- I assume you got along fine with the tree?"

"Talkin' ain't got shit to do with sleepin' with someone, ye don't need words to use your willy." Anyway.

"Aye, he's a very agreeable sort. Never thought I'd meet someone worse at cookin' than I am."

"You seriously just used the word 'willy'?" Tannusen laughed, "With a straight face? Oh my god, it's worse than I thought..."

Come on Tannu, you've seen what the guy sleeps in.

"You two didn't light the kitchen on fire, I hope. Not that I should care, it's not mine."

"Well I coulda used pecker but the situation didn't call for it." Asshole. His pajamas are warm and cuddly, don't you dare insult them.

"Nae, but the fellow doesn't even know how to boil noodles. I know he's a tree but he's got a mouth, surely he eats things, doesn't he? You don't just let him live off peanut butter and jelly all the time, do ye?"

"Let him? He's not my pet," Tannu scoffed, amused, "if anything, it's the other way around. Guy got lonely and decided that what he really needed in his apartment was a giant homeless bum of a tiger."

"The man can't cook, ye let him be like that, I've tasted your cooking. Tis a humanitarian crime not to teach him how to make decent food."

Said the man who's happily lived off ricearoni since it was invented.

"Ye could at least give him a how to guide on noodle makin'."

"Why don't you?" Tannusen asked, "you're the one who's so offended on his behalf. I knew you two would get along, anyway, you're both awkward nerds."

"Because he's a good man and doesn't deserve to have Irish cookin' inflicted on him. I know how my people eat, no one deserves that."

Oh god. "Have you even tried the lawry's I sent, or did it get hucked in the frog pond?"

"I think it might have been sacrificed to the frog pond, mate."

Tannusen chuckled at that, and rubbed his face. "Okay, I'll send potatoes next time."

"Don't send potatoes. Never ever send me a feckin' potato. I will hunt ye down and I'll anchor ye to the bottom of the frog pond if I even get one eye of a potato."

The tiger laughed at that, shaking his head. Too easy. "I'll have to keep that in mind."

Which probably meant Cassian would get a potato at some point. Hey, sometimes he enjoyed getting his ass kicked.

He will pack that potato with rocks and whip it at Tannusen's stupid head, don't sell him short.

There's a loud, disgruntled grumble, the priest sinking into his spot further.

"And you claim you like me," Tannusen teased, "ha, ha."

Nerd.

"I do like ye, I just have a few amendments I want to make to your sense of humor.

Twat."

"See," Tannusen chuckled, "and you'd have missed out on all of this if you hadn't hunted me down."

The tiger sobered back up after a moment, because that was actually kind of depressing when he thought about it. Mh.

There's a grunt and he... just sort of flops against him, his shoulder meeting the other man's solidly, where he remained.

"I'm glad I came."

Tannu glanced over, blinking.

"So... what do you want from me, besides to bask in my endless charm?" he asked quietly, because while his wording was very casual and light, the question really wasn't.

"I have to make a list? Tannusen, if I knew what couples did once they figured out they're a couple, I'd do it right feckin' now. I thought we were doin' it."

Y'know.

Sitting here and talking.

"Should I say long walks on the beach and a candlelit dinner or would ye call me out for a liar before I could finish the request? I found more rooms in the tomb if ye want the real answer, twas.... fun the last time I went in with ye."

"Wait, couple?" Tannusen blinked. "Are we... dating now? Is that even allowed?"

He was only half-kidding. And apparently only one of them had figured out they were a couple!

"I figure that's what's happenin' now. What since we both agreed we've gone and stepped in some feelings here."

I mean he could be wrong, right?

He doesn't know!

That was... really not the expected answer. Tannusen glanced aside at Cassian, then went back to staring down at his hands folded in his lap.
