[Action] A New Arrival in Town
[Garrus has been in many strange situations before. He's been in many strange cities, hell, many strange planets , but Genessia might take the dextro-based cake. To be stuck somewhere, unable to get away even by ship? It was weird, even for his standards. There were races he had never even heard. Every city was remarkably different, even technology-wise, and in Nova City, the place he had decided to call home a few days ago, a young girl - a human (nothing wrong with that, but it was odd since they didn’t even have a spot on the Council yet) - seemed to be in charge. He had followed her instructions, albeit warily, and, well, they were right. Everything she said seemed to be true, from the housing to the pendants - he had checked. He'd be impressed if he weren't used to Shepard. But those days were long gone.
Living in a city meant finding a source of income and, well, Garrus was never one for peace and quiet. He briefly considered joining the police there, but memories of too much Red Tape in C-section haunted him, so he decided against that. He had read a list of bounties, though, and he had fortunately been transported with his Archangel helmet. He'd slipped it on before ducking out of his building , intending to introduce the vagabonds to the new vigilante in town when he happened to pass a man attacking a woman in an ally. He shrugged. A crime was a crime. He reached for his assault rifle before realizing he didn't know the city's rules on the matter - he was here to solve problems not start them. He cracked his neck. It had been awhile since he had had a good spar.
A few minutes and a disappointing fight later, an unconscious mugger was slung over his shoulder. Not knowing where to bring him, he headed off in the direction he thought led to the Guardian’s office, the body of the man thrown over his shoulder. After a few wrong turns, he finally arrived at the right place, opened the door, and strode into the lobby.]

((ooc: While this is aimed towards people currently in the Guardian's building, other people may interact with him on his way there so long as they do not prevent him from reaching the office since this was a quasi-planned thing.))

Let me get this straight. You think the woman being assaulted stuck around? She ran as soon as the attention was off of her. I'm not going to track down a scared woman just so she can make a statement.
[This was exactly why he left C-Sec. Too much red tape.]
Besides, even if I had called the cops like a good little boy scout, she still would have run and he could just claim the same thing. Wouldn't change a thing, according to you.
[Not that Garrus believed he would lie, not if he was there when he woke up - Garrus hadn't exactly gone easy on him.
And despite what she thought, this wasn't about credit. He saw someone in need, he helped them. His reputation would form on its own, just like it did on Omega.]
And let's say for a moment I had attacked him unfoundedly. Why would I bring the guy in instead of just leaving him back in the alley? I don't know this guy. For all I know he could be your best friend. And then whose word would carry more weight? I'm one of the good guys, trust me.

[ She holds her hand out as if she's metaphorically holding out another suggestion. ]
There are plenty of people who would bring in people just for the glory of being treated like a hero or hoping to get rid of someone for good without having blood on their hands. I'm not just going to trust every person who brings me an unconscious body, and I can't arrest someone without evidence. You find me a witness, then we'll talk. Otherwise, I can take his information but that's the most I can do.

So what, I'm just supposed to watch as the girl gets mugged while I wait for the police to appear? Sorry, sweetheart. I don't work that way.
[Play nice, Garrus. Getting even further on her bad side isn't going to help any.]
Look, why don't you just ask around for the woman yourself. Red hair and freckles, just like - [He cut off. Stop thinking about her. She's gone.] - like that. That's how she looked. If you throw his face up on a screen asking for information I'm sure she'll come forward.
[He could probably find her himself, but it would be easier for them, what with the resources they probably had.]

[ Though he does make a good point about the photo, so she's taking out her device to take one. She also takes a photo of Garrus's face, for equity. ]
I made an archangel icon so it's easier to keep track of - double identities are hard
He nods - what else can he say? She just keeps shooting him down. Really, he's starting to miss the anarchy of Omega.]
Fine, but when he attacks someone else don't come crying to me about it.
[Not that he'd get the chance; Garrus is planning on keeping a pretty close eye on the guy once he's released.]
sounds good
I can guarantee I wouldn't or they wouldn't have elected me to be City Guardian in the first place.
[ At least she's got confidence. She goes to cuff the guy though. If he's violent when he wakes up it'll be more than enough reason to hold him, cuffing is a precaution. ]
Of course, if he confesses when he wakes up it won't be an issue. What did you say your name was?
Re: sounds good
Just call me Archangel.
[Did someone say confidence]no subject
Is that an alias or your actual name?
no subject
Does it matter?
[He has a feeling she's going to say it does, but it's all she's going to get from him.]
no subject
Yes, absolutely.
no subject
It's my name.
[At least while the helmet's on it is.]
