When the video was over, Telsen found himself sitting on the floor in a daze. There was a lingering haze to his mind that he recognized as mesmer meddling. Damnit. Of all the things- What was worse was the bitter loss he felt now the song was over.

He got to his feet, feeling unsteady. Why did he decide to come by early tonight? That's what he gets for being a good employee...

Telsen made his way over to Kani, head still foggy.

"What- The hell?"

Kani hadn't entirely known there was someone else there. He figured, as usual, there were other people in the building of course, but in terms of being close enough to hear the song, well, he wasn't expecting that.

Still, even with the faint jump of surprise, it was all smoothly blended into one motion, the siren whirling about to face Telsen and-

"Well heya! You the new guy here? No one told me you were cute!" Good, perfect introduction!

"Ya like it? One of the newer songs I got on me. Well... relatively new, anythin' newer than a hundred's pretty new."

"Newer than a hundred...?" Normally, Telsen wouldn't let the compliment slide. Flirting was even easier when someone else started for him. Normally, he wasn't dealing mind control. Pity. He did give Kani an appreciative look before shaking his head and remembering the issue at hand.

"I liked it more than I shoulda," he said, doing his best to sound grumpy and coming off more confused than anything.

"What-" He waved his hands vaguely. "-was that?"

"Yeah yeah, a hundred years is still kinda new don'tcha think?" Well for him anyway.

"Naw, ya liked it just fine! Ain't no reason not ta like music!" Even if it was magically enhanced. Hell, especially then, right?

"That was singin'!" Okay no he knew what was being asked of him. He just felt like being difficult.

"Special singin'."

"What are you- No, I don't care." He reached up to rub at his temples, that was another point against his ex. She had a lot of points against her at this point, with the whole stalking thing. Mesmer bullshit was pretty high on his list of annoyances, still.

"I liked that much too much for that just to be 'special' singing, explain," he went on, indignant. Come on, he doesn't want to deal with talking in circles!

"Ya ain't never heard a siren sing before, Johnny?" He'll explain the nick name later, but he seems to have already taken a liking to it.

"Singin' is magic with us, kiddo. We sing and folks listen!"

"Mesmers," he muttered darkly under his breath. Sure Kani might be the real thing from myth but he was definitely a mind controlling peice of shit. A piece of shit with a song that Telsen would give a lot to hear again.

He sat on the edge of the stage, feeling a mixture of irritation and confusion.

"Why?" he asked, delightfully vague.

"Why? Why what? Why am I singin'? Why were ya here? Why was I usin' magic?

I mean I guess I could try ta answer all'a those.

I'm singin' cuz more people that show up ta listen means job security fer me! Aaaan yer here ta get a paycheck....

Telsen still shot him a suspicious look. So suspicious. He was a very threatening blossom, just so you know!

"Alright, why 'Johnny'? Since y'answered everything else." Ugh, he hadn't even had a drink yet and he wanted to hear more of that singing. Giddy was a rare feeling for him.

"Ya look like a Johnny!" And thus, such will be Telsen's name forever and ever. Don't ask Tannusen why his singer gives nicknames.
