[Action]
[Upon first awakening, Xul immediately drew his Scythe and Dagger, slowly making his way toward the opening of The Bay. He surveyed the surrounding area as if expecting to be attacked before returning to the pod he found himself in and investigated the items he had found next to him. The phone was of most interest to him. He turned it over in his hands a few times as he returned to the entrance before casually tossing the device to the ground. He hovered his hand over the device for a moment, cricking his fingers and pulling up as if pulling the strings of a marionette puppet. Immediately, the phone began to grow in size, jagged metal protrusions jutting out of the device until it took a vaguely humanoid shape, with the touch pad used to operate the device taking up the golem's chest. After a moment of thought he commanded the golem to show what it was capable of, prompting it to tap its chest a few times, activating a video feed.]
[Video]
Fascinating... There is no magical aura from the device, meaning it's purely mechanical in nature, somehow. This is eons ahead of anything Sanctuary has. I suppose the spirit was right in saying I'm in a new place.
[He squints a bit as he turns away from the camera toward the city before him.]
But this place... it sits on the razor's edge while the Great Cycle has been ground to a halt. It's as if a sickness has taken hold of this entire realm. Rathma, Trag'Oul, give me the wisdom and strength to move the Great Cycle once more.

Greetings! I take it you're new to Genessia. What's this Great Cycle you're concerned with?
[Hopefully getting it moving wasn't anything dangerous or something he'd have to deal with.]

We preserve the balance of life and death, that all may live their allotted time, while safeguarding the balance for future generations.
no subject
How do you intend to restart this cycle?
no subject
I am unsure just yet. I would need to do a great deal of research into this place.
no subject
Well, I've been doing research of this place, if you need help or find something of interest, I'd like to know. What did you mean? That this place sits on the razor's edge?
no subject
Of course that is just my initial reaction. I very well could not be seeing what keeps it all in check.

She phased through wall-after-wall, dodging people until she poked her head out from a wall behind Xul and only caught the last half of what he said before she retreated back from whence she came.]
[Action]
I can sense you, spirit. Hiding will do you no good. If you want something, make it known.
[Action]
Eventually, Spectra did slowly phase out from a wall and into full view. She looked like little more than a high school youth and hardly like anything that could be a threat.
When she does speak, it's whispers and slightly drawn out.]
"You knew I was here...?"
[Action]
Those of my order have a very strong connection to death, and as such are far more attuned to undeath.
[Action]
"And what order would that be...?"
[Action]
The magic we wield is uniquely tied to death.
action;
Your skill is most impressive. I've never seen anyone do such a thing with their devices before.
action;
[As Xul turns his focus Liam, the Golem begins wandering aimlessly around Xul as if searching for possible threats.]
action;
[He certainly does... but he's never had a need to do so with his generals around.]
Such a thing may certainly be of use to you within the city of Everglade. But somehow I feel the creatures there would give you little difficulty.
[He finds himself slightly interested in the mention of this 'order' but he'll keep his own questions to a minimum. For the time being.]
action;
Yes, I have seen talk of this 'Everglade' but after the foes I've faced in my own world, I have no desire to seek out more.
action;
[Cipher has come to learn that mages can be the most secretive sorts.]
I cannot blame you. Unfortunately, it is the closest to what I'm accustomed to in my own world, so I guess it's the best place to call home here. But I imagine it is easier for others to adjust to the remaining cities.
action;
I see. I appreciate the information but for now I feel a need to explore and truly get my bearings.
action;
[This man must truly be a powerful one indeed. The order's purpose almost reminds him of his own battle that he waged at home... although, perhaps Cipher took his fight too far. Or so some might think.]
Forgive me, I was imposing these questions without a proper introduction. My name is Liam Randel. The magical nature of others is a bit of a curiosity of mine.
action;
[He nods a bit.]
You may call me Xul.

{ This guy couldn't look more like a mage if he tried. Of course, Zeref's world doesn't quite have anything like this either - functionally, it's very similar to a communications lacrima, but those run on magic, not electricity - but this guy made it clear that they had nothing like it in his world. }
"Great Cycle?" { He has a feeling, having heard similar terms before, but he wants to be sure before he starts shooting down what is already giving him very unpleasant vibes from his days back in Mildian. }
[ video ]
The Great Cycle of Being. It is a tenuous balance between life and death, and my order upholds that balance.
[ video ]
I don't suppose the word 'Ankhseram' has any meaning to you, does it?
[ video ]
[ video ]
{ Well, that's a relief; though Zeref doesn't let it show. }
Then, perhaps you will wish to hear about Everglade?

{ The Dragon Civil War certainly took its toll on the world, but it definitely wasn't some near-apocalyptic event like Xul is describing. Actually, short of what Acnologia did on a few occasions and Alvarez' more brutal campaigns, nothing even comes close to that. It's almost difficult for Zeref to imagine. }
Then let us be thankful that Fayren's would-be invaders were, at least this time, weak.

My name is Zeref, by the way.

Think of it as a balance between life and death. Life cannot blossom without death, and my order upholds that balance.
[Video]
[The mention of balance between life and death suddenly makes the purpose of the Plague flight make sense.]
I'm not certain if it's really true that time stands still in our home worlds...but I would hope that it is. I really don't want the darkness to corrupt my world while I'm stuck here, unable to stop it...

Indoor plumbin' is still their finest creation.

And to think this place managed all this without the all powerful Mage clans. It's almost as if they were holding my world back.
