Who: K-2SO and Cassian Andor
Where: Kay's apartment in Genessia, then probably Everglade
When: March 1st
What: Reconciling after their reunion fight, and exploring
Warnings: To be added as necessary
Cassian approached the door to Holly Ridge apartment #404, clutching the small shopping bag with several packages of the most expensive cat food he had been able to find in Genessia City. It was the only shield he had right now, a very measly shield to give him courage for this difficult task.
The last time he had been here he had picked the lock and slipped inside as if the place belonged to him, but today he stood in front of the door for a while before he even mustered the courage to ring the bell.
He should have resolved this earlier, should have never left without apologizing for disappointing Kay and hurting him. It was time to finally fix it.

Hello, Cassian. Come in. [His voice is polite, still unsure where they stand after their last in person conversation. Fest, on the other side, meows again and looks at the bags with interest.]
no subject
Cassian coughs awkwardly as he shuffles inside.] I brought something for her. I hope you don't mind. A peace offering?
no subject
Oh, you really didn't have to.
['Yet' was the Key word. After realizing that there might be food in those bags, Fest clings to Cassian's leg, trying to climb it.]
no subject
[He gives Kay a hopeful look. That should show he's serious about his peace offering, shouldn't it? He's worked hard on it.]
Actually, what I'm trying to say is... [Fest's claws dig into his calf and he looks down again.] Maybe we should feed her before we talk.
no subject
Thank you for the food. My ability to cook is non-existent so it's good to know she won't end poisoned because I tried to feed her fresh food. [He takes the bag from Cassian's hands, knowing that his smooth metal frame makes it hard for Fest to climb him. Fest lets go of Cassian and moves to the droid's feet to mewl at him.]
Yes, good idea. If you feed her yourself I'm sure she will take even more of a liking to you. Make yourself comfortable on the couch, I'll put the salmon on a plate and you can give her small pieces.
no subject
Cassian takes a seat on the couch, keeping a careful eye on the cat until it... she follows Kay into the kitchen. Alone in the room, he takes another look around. It hasn't changed much since he was last here, but it's something to do.
He accepts the plate from Kay when he offers it, and tentatively offers a piece of salmon to the tiny white feline.]
She looks very small to me. Are you sure Genessian cats are supposed to be this small?
no subject
[That was another reason why Kay couldn't bring himself to just ignore the poor cat when he found her in Everglade. Now, he watches with a sense of happiness as Fest stand up on her hind legs to reach Cassian's fingers and eat the food. Droids like him can not smile, unfortunately.]
The cats here are all weird, nothing like lothcats. They're usually not this little or thin either but she's very young, she still has to grow up. I talked to a vet and they told me Fest still needs to get used to all the food she's getting. Apparently, not everyone deals well with sudden changes in their life.
[Kay might or might not be just talking about the cat.]
no subject
Hmm... Some deal worse than others. [ Fest finally deigns to give the salmon a try, and after the first nibble she gulps down the food, nearly taking Cassian's fingers along with it. ] She still eats like she's starving. It's hard to break the habits that have kept you alive for so long.
[ Cassian's eyes meet Kay's again. ]
It's... difficult.
no subject
I'm sure that with some more time to adapt things would get better or at least more familiar.
no subject
[Cassian picks a smaller piece this time, not wishing the cat to get sick either, especially since he's sure she would get sick all over him.]
I've been trying to make it work. I got a job.
no subject
I'd like that too. [Kay's optics brighten up.] You too? What sort of job? I didn't find anything close to 'rebel spy' when I checked.
no subject
No, they aren't searching for any rebel spies. I considered a detective agency, but I didn't feel comfortable sharing too much about my experience in intelligence to get the job. I'm a security guard with Schnee Company, in Nova City.
no subject
[Fest moves to rub against Cassian's legs now that she's full. There, you are forgiven, weird human who like to break in into their house.]
That sounds like a good place. Do you need to wear an uniform too?
no subject
[Cassian peers down at the content cat, and tentatively runs his fingers over the silky tips of her ears.]
I'm not sure if I'll have to wear a... What do you mean with me, too?
no subject
I got a job as security but not in a big company like Schnee. I work in Nova city in a place called Fortuna’s Palace.
no subject
[His brows go up again.]
I never thought I'd see you... [Kay among all the glitz of a casino is mind-boggling. His lips twitch.] I want to see that for myself.
no subject
[He dares to glance at Cassian, only to notice the lip twitch.] The Casino or the uniform?
no subject
[ He's trying so hard not to laugh at you, Kay. ]
But you could show me the uniform right away.
no subject
Okay. It's nothing special, really.
[Kay moves, standing a few meters away from Cassian and Fest as to not startle the cat and presses a finger to the device in his wrist. It activates an hologram and sure enough it looks like Kay is wearing some sort of dark shit with a white shirt. Tie and everything.]
no subject
[His eyes go very, very wide as soon as the hologram activates.
Cassian makes a soft choking noise, then a louder choking noises, and something that sounds very strangled. And then he's laughing.
He's just gonna sit here and laugh his ass off, sorry, Kay.]
no subject
[Kay is now honestly considering training Fest to attack Cassian on command.]
Careful not to choke and die, that would be such a tragedy, Cassian.
no subject
[And somehow, that's utterly hilarious to him. It shouldn't even be quite that funny, but it is.]
Never thought I'd see you...!
no subject
[Honestly, the nerve. Even if it's holographic, Kay think his suit is 10 times better than any potato sack Cassian used to dress himself.]
Except that one time in Naboo but that was completely justified.
no subject
Oh? What was justified about that? And you don't get to laugh at my uniform when I'm not allowed to laugh at your imperial paint job.
[Even though that is a necessity for warfare, and thus Cassian's preference as much as Kay's. But. Details.]
no subject
[And boy, wasn't that funny.
Kay tilts his head backwards, conveying offence.] My imperial paint job is the only one I ever got and it helps me to blend in on missions, which I thought was the point. I'd wear the starbird if I could...
