ACTION for anyone in Everglade
[They really didn't remove the veil unless they felt it necessary. Most of the time, even without company, it remained in place, but... circumstances demanded.
They needed to brush their hair.
Without an actual house to sit in and do this privately, they'd simply absconded to what they could only figure was an abandoned building, unraveling the yards of fabric.
What a mess though. They thoughtfully scrubbed their fingers through the tangled locks of black and gray, digging around for the brush they'd 'borrowed' from somewhere.
They were going to give it back!
Eventually.
... Maybe.
If they thought of it.
Look, there were more important things to be done.
And what a task it seemed to be for them too, the bristles of the brush constantly getting snagged again and again.
This... this was going to take a while.]
[[OOC: Feel free to assume that the 'abandoned' house wasn't quite so abandoned, or what have you.]]

What was this? "Hhuat you?"
no subject
Oh no wait it's just a zombie.
Everything's fine, resume.
They did yank the veil up for a split second, a single panicked squeal escaping before they... sort of realized... maybe the rules didn't count for Limbface. No one ever told them they needed to hide their face from ghouls.
Slowly, they lowered it again, staring at the creature and trying to translate what it just sa-
What you.
What you? Oh it was a question. Well without further hesitation, a smile split their face and they wiggled their fingers at him.
"Very surprised."
no subject
"E... too!"
no subject
They gave up on their hair for the moment, draping the taglemust over their shoulders for the time being.
"Then I am in good company! Where are you from?"
no subject
"Raugh!" That was just enthusiasm, right there. "Azeroth!"
no subject
"I don't think I've heard of that one before..." How interesting!
"I'm from earth! What is it like, in Azeroth?"
no subject
Speaking of his Knight, Kalenedral caught up at his steady walking pace, and stepped into the room. Had Limbface been alarmed or in danger, of course, he would have appeared much sooner. Since he hadn't, Kalenedral hadn't rushed.
The much more intact undead regarded Amalu with his usual neutral expression. Deep under his armor and regenerated flesh, the Shadow runes carved into his bones hummed just slightly.
no subject
"Big!" Well of course. There's a laugh, different than the usual dry, stifled, silent giggle. It's bright and warm, and deeply amused.
"I suppose that's true for anywhere though, isn't it? It is big here too." Oh. Wait.
They jerked up suddenly as Kalen entered the room, and unlike Limbface here, seemed like Kalen was a bit too intelligent to be allowed to see Amalu's full face. They quickly yanked the veil up with a started sound.
But at least, at this point, they were fairly sure that Kalen wouldn't be bothered by their voice, no one could really be in the house and not hear it after all.
no subject
He's not going to comment on it, though. He remembers all too well when being seen with one's helmet off was an unthinkable action.
"Greetings," the Knight says instead of any of that. His own voice is... odd. There's an otherwordly echo, a hollow resonance overlaying that deep baritone.
Limbface is pleased to see him, though, and scurries over to the Knight. "Is erry surrhrised!"
That's what you are now, Amalu. The ghoul's smarter than most of his kind, child-like, but he's still a ghoul.
no subject
"Hello. ... I did not expect this much company here. Is this your house?" Because you uh... need to get better at interior decoration, if it is.
Christ, bro.
no subject
Doesn't have a clue what he wants to do, but enthusiastic!
"My servant seems to have taken a liking to you," the Knight continues. For his own part, he's as still as a statue from the neck down. There's breathing, for some reason, but it's hard to even spot that through all his armor. "Who are you?"
no subject
"I am a shadow." That should answer it, right? They stooped to go back to inspecting the ghoul, cheerfully reaching out to try and gently poke the dead creature's shoulder.
"Who are you?"
no subject
And, with the back of one long, curved claw, he reached out to poke Amalu back. Fair's fair!
"Kalenedral," the Death Knight said simply, watching this go on with his usual neutral expression. "And my servant is Limbface."
[Action]
The shadow pokemon, comfortably melded with his own, tugged on his leg. Hey, it seemed to say, something weird went in there.
He'd learned to trust the sixth sense of the ghost pokemon, who remembered his encounter with the shadow long ago. All he needs now is a plausible excuse for busting into a creepy house.
He's sure it'll come to him. In the meantime he'll just scout ahead with some curious, black threads, and see what he can see. His shadow was quivering; clearly this was the strange presence Gengar caught.
And now, a dilemma. If it's friendly, he doesn't want to be seen in the suit. If not, he definitely wants it in case of a fight. Mm....benefit of the doubt. He'll change into something many-colored, probably making too much noise in an adjacent part of the empty building before emerging in Amalu's location.
"Good evening, sir or madam. Sorry if I'm bothering you, it's just..."
He's still working on that excuse.
Re: [Action]
There's a dull, dry squeal, the veil being yanked up over their face sharply. Its not really enough to hide the cloud of black, gray streaked hair, but they totter back and immediately... vanish.
Slithering away under an abandoned entertainment case, which rattles threateningly once they've gotten themselves under there.
It's usually a fairly good tactic for scaring off random humans, most of them mistook the action as a poltergeist and beat it fairly quickly.
Still, the rattling is accompanied with a few frantic BANGS on the floors and wall behind them.
THEY AREN'T DECENT.
Re: [Action]
Not that scaring someone into an entertainment case isn't his favorite way to make introductions, however novel. Then again, that does power up the barrier, so...
Why did he come here, again? Oh yeah, scouting out troublemakers! He turned his neck to address his shadow.
"Could be a naughty spirit. Care to check it out?"
His shadow shook its head. Nope, Ted can go first.
"All right. Ah, whoever you are, do you um...require privacy, or...? I don't mean any harm. Unless you do...then I'd have to retaliate, I suppose." Curiously he walks towards the bottom doors and takes a peek. He's been in Everglade way too long for spooks of that caliber to sway him.
Re: [Action]
There's a distressed series of squeaks from the shadow, and they bang about under the case again.
YES.
YES THEY NEED PRIVACY.
Re: [Action]
That does startle Ted's own eyes a bit, but figures that because nothing too offensive happened, he might as well close it again, before sitting down and just...waiting.
"Ah, all right. Just, ah, making sure things are orderly. I know poltergeist-intuition isn't the most infallible thing, but better safe than sorry, right? I mean, one night it just so happened that..."
He'd blather as long as the privacy took.
Re: [Action]
Before anyone would have much time to inspect that though, Amalu quickly exits that closet just a few moments later, adjusting the taglemust and looking weary. Okay. Well.
Hair can wait, they guess.
Out comes the phone and-
I was not decent.
Re: [Action]
Surprise, before quickly giving way to amusement. Sorry Am, your inability to communicate is too absurd not to earn at least a chuckle.
"Haha, well hello Amalu, good to see you this evening. Sorry to catch you in a state of undress; I know the worry. If it's not asking too much, what was the, er, cause? It's not usual to change in another's house. Or do you live here now? I thought you were with that, uh...therapist."
Yes, Ted also changed in this exact house that wasn't his. No, you aren't allowed to bring that up.
Re: [Action]
I have to brush my hair. Amberdrake has company.
Ergo, cannot brush hair at Amberdrakes.
I do not want to be seen without my taglemust. It is not proper.
Re: [Action]
" 'Taglemust', eh? A moment." Needs to look that up. Thank goodness for worldwide internet reception.
"...Huh! Says here that the indigo of that garment would bleed into the skin, making blue men." Focus, Ted.
"Oh! Well, no worries. I didn't see your...face. Was, er, that what you were covering? That's an interesting bit of culture I've not yet encountered. Goodness, I hope you're not scandalized in seeing my own."
Re: [Action]
So that was their face. It's just not right for him to see it! Oh they could go into why they're not scandalized to see the faces of men who aren't of their tribe but they... like having friends and telling someone they're not important enough to cause scandal with them is not how you make friends.
Mine is not so deeply dyed yet.
Re: [Action]
From there he rolled out a list of bounty names he was looking for, and any related parties. Thankfully Am didn't make Everglade his home, so it'd be a bust. He'd make a few minute's conversation before a black limb rose from his shadow, tugging at his sleeve. Gengar was bored and wanted to hit something, or at least look for things to hit. He's reasonably sure Amalu is off-limits.
"Ah, right, better get back to it. Good night, Amalu, it was nice seeing you. I'll, hah, leave you to your grooming."

Wearing heels all the time means that her presence is always known, but in a way, she likes the game of hide and seek. This time, though, she opted for a pair of black and red sneakers to mask her footsteps better. She doesn't have time for fun and games. There's a whole city to cover!
What she doesn't expect to find is someone brushing their hair, with no other sign that they're living there. Standing in the doorway, Grell just rolls her eyes a bit.]
This isn't a salon.
no subject
There's an undignified squeal, and they.... vanish. Disappear under a bookcase, two wide, terrified purple eyes staring out from the gap under the case itself at Grell.
Even after seeing who it is, they don't actually leave.
But a voice issues from the gap instead, the eyes clearly concerned]
Please turn around.
[Oh how... sweet that voice was. Resonating and kind and warm, perhaps even angelic. As tender as a mother it was.]
I am not decent.
no subject
My apologies, then. I can certainly understand not wanting to be seen while indecent.
[She wouldn't want anyone to see her with bedhead.]
It"s still not a salon, though.
no subject
You may turn.
[They are an impossibly tall creature, standing over seven feet. Despite this, they do not seem gangly or awkward. Rather, they have the poise of a dancer to them, graceful and willowy.]
I cannot brush my hair in Amberdrake's office right now. He has company. I had to find somewhere else.
no subject
Do you not have your own home, or room?
no subject
[... Except to brush their hair, clearly]
no subject
[That reply is dripping with sarcasm.]
This building is abandoned, and trespassing is not allowed. If you just need a place to brush your hair, then you can use one of the changing stalls in my boutique. It's in Fayren, however, but available. Otherwise you'll have to choose a different place.
no subject
Would you begrudge me if I were to duck in here to fix a wardrobe malfunction?
no subject
Crossing her arms, Grell sighs softly.]
As long as you don't plan to stay here more than the law allows...it's still trespassing. Should you get caught by any other authority, I can't give you a free pass.
[Meaning she's just going to give a warning for now.]
no subject
Thank you so much, Madam Guardian.
[But oh, yes, she was the guardian they were speaking with earlier, and they did, in fact, have something for her]
I recall, I was offering you something earlier. Would you still like to have it? I find it is quite lovely.
no subject
You did?
no subject
But today was not for finding a victim for her experiments, it was because she was looking for buildings and such that she could do them in, so she wouldn't have to drag them without the possibility of being caught.
However when she was going to explore one, she stopped.]
Oh, I'm sorry. Is this your place?
