Uhm-- [Jaune starts to raise his hand, but stops himself.] I've got a question. Is anyone good at breaking rocks? And weapon modifications I guess. And armor, but mainly breaking rocks.
What? [It takes him a moment to realize why Garrus might have jumped to that conclusion, and when he does he ends up waving his hands.] No! No we don't have to die, but if one of us dies while fighting, we just come back. It'd still hurt though. A lot. So let's just keep out the dying part.
[ That being said, if Jaune wants to spar, he's down. It's been awhile since he released some tension. But he would prefer they stopped before one of them died. The idea isn't appealing to him, and somehow he doesn't think Weiss would like it if she found out he killed a fellow deputy, even if they can somehow come back.
It is, for both of our weapons. Unless you'd rather meet at the park.
[His casual posture goes tense, and he finds himself nodding slowly.]
Sort of. We have no control over it, it's this place. It doesn't care if you're dead back in your world, it brings people from any time. But when they leave, they go back to being dead.
[ Way to kill a turian's dreams, Jaune. It was really sombering, though, considering how close he was with Cassian and Kay. He knew that when they eventually left this place they wouldn't retain contact, but he didn't think they'd end up dead. Just another pair of people to add to the Couldn't Protect list.]
How do we know what happens when we leave if we're stuck here?
[The demonstrations have taken a backseat to this discussion in Garrus' mind.]
Because people have come back and remembered more happening back on their world and also remembered being here.
[You can't protect the dead, Garrus. He doesn't know how well Garrus knows Cassian and Kay, or even that he knows them, but he knows what a painful reality it is to face. But sometimes you have to face reality regardless of how painful it is. Denial only makes it worse.]
[Somewhere on this godforsaken planet there had to be some mastermind or program or something that was calling the shots, and Garrus was definitely interested in finding it. And also finding a way to transport people back with him that might somehow make them avoid their fate. The chances of it working are slim, and he recognizes that, but him at least trying could do wonders for his conscious.
But that's enough dragging down the mood.]
We might want to stick with the arena for showing off. I know it's not Nova but I'm pretty sure Schnee will yell if we damage anything in Attelon.
[Garrus should talk to Weiss about the Genessia Scientific Research Foundation.]
Weiss has damaged stuff before. But I'm pretty sure that was when she was doing her job. I guess she might yell more if we damaged stuff just for fun. I'll meet you there.
[And he ends it with that, heading over to the Attleton Colosseum to wait for Garrus.]
[ It takes Garrus a little bit of time to find the place, but he gets there eventually. Jaune is the only person there, so it's not hard to spot him. ]
Hey. I'm Garrus. I don't think we've ever actually talked before, outside of Guardian meetings.
Hi, I'm Jaune. [He nods at Garrus. He doesn't know him that well, but Weiss trusted him to be a Deputy for a reason. And there's nothing about him that makes Jaune want to distrust him.]
[He takes a few steps back. The gauntlet glows a brighter blue as he holds up his fist and activates the Dust with pulling the trigger, sending a wall of water to try and make Garrus lose his footing.]
[ Garrus isn't sure what Jaune is wishing him luck for until he's hit by a blast of water. Had he been ready for it, it wouldn't have been hard for him to brace himself against the impact. But having the zero preparation he did, he stumbles back a few steps. He doesn't go down, but he's certainly less than graceful as he tries to retain his footing and shield his face from the onslaught of water. He's fairly certain that if he did not have the experience with the unexpected from his time with Shepard he would have fallen on his ass and made a complete fool of himself.
[There's another relentless blast, and then another. Thanks to the way he swings his fist, both form crests of water that attempt to push Garrus back.]

We have to die to enter the colosseum?
[ That didn't sound right. ]

We can bring people back from the dead here?
[ Did that mean... Shepard? ]

It's random, as far as we know.

So, Garrus, are you a good swimmer?
Action
[Swimming and sniping don't really go together so he's not sure where Jaune is going with this.]
Trust me, you don't want to see turians swim. It's a lot of flailing and splashing interrupted by occasional bouts of drowning.

Come on. You can do better than that, can't you?
