Night of March 22nd to 23rd
There's another sound, a peep, and this time he can say for sure it's coming from the nest.
He's cursing under his breath as he flicks the light switch, only to find one egg already broken, and the other cracking.]
Kay!
no subject
Cassian? I don't detect any intruder in the fla...oh. [His gaze falls on the broken egg and quickly moves towards the one cracking. He can see something white and blue peeking from a hole, it looks like a tentacle of some sort. Or a tail.] So they're alive.
[he moves to stand in front of Cassian, just in case.]
no subject
Cassian just stands there wide-eyed.]
Kay? Please tell me there's nothing on my head.
[The baby Swablu puffs itself up and chirps.]
no subject
[Looks like the only time where Kay is actually good at lying is when Cassian makes a direct request. The droid stares at the blue thing happily perched on Cassian and the bird chirps at him again.]
That nothing looks an awful lot like some sort of bird. Maybe I could...
[One of his hands reaches out to try and grab the bird but then there's another crack behind him. The other eggs is finally open and something blue and white slithers between Kay's legs. The droid stares down at the new beast, Dratini, who stares back up at him with unblinking eyes] ...that's a dragon. Cassian, it's a dragon.
no subject
This is now his reality and he holds to it.]
This is all your fault!
[He takes a rapid step back from the blue and white dragon, while the blue and white bird on his head flaps its wings indignantly at the sudden movement.]
This is you and your dragon talk...!
no subject
How is this my fault? I didn't get the eggs into the house! I only theorized about what was insid...Fest, no. FEST!
[Kay notices the cat, who's already grumpy from being woken up by screams, stare at the bird on Cassian's head with huge eyes. She ignores Kay's warning, decides that it's Climbing Cassian Time, and tries to do just that to get to the bird.]
no subject
It is... Ow!
[Tiny sharp claws dig into his bare legs as the cat tries to climb them, and before he can shoo the cat away, she changes strategy and leaps at him, finally finding purchase in his shorts. There's more bellowing as Cassian holds on to the shorts for dear life while trying to shake off the cat.
And on his head, the Swablu digs her claws into his scalp when her hair nest becomes a lot less steady all of a sudden.]
KAY! Do something before I shoot it!
no subject
Don't yell, you can handle some scratches. [There's something kind of funny int he way Cassian is trying really hard not to lose his pants. Humans are weird like that about clothes. Kay wraps a hand around Fest's tummy, careful not to squeeze her too hard, and tries to get her to let go of Cassian. She meows unhappily, tiny claws digging into the shorts.]
Fest! Bad kitty. Come on, none of that now, let him go...[It takes some coaching, Kay is still worried about hurting the cat, but he manages to free Cassian of the angry kitty after the third try.]
no subject
[With the danger to his shorts gone, he brings his hands to his head and tries to get rid off the other pest. His fingers dig into cotton-like fluff, which makes him hesitate long enough for the bird to start protesting, too.]
Just for the record, I'm blaming all of this on you... and I know I heard a noise from the hallway before... There must be more.
[Because that's just what they need.]
no subject
She's only a few months old, she still needs to learn commands. I'm sure Fest was trying to protect you from the weird bird.
[Fest is wriggling in Kay's hold, eyes still staring at the giant fluffy bird. She wants to gnaw at it a bit, nothing more!]
You always blame me for everything. [Yes, Kay is whining but he has a good reason. He leans forward to put Fest on the ground, scolding her.] You stay here and be good, little miss. No more attacking the Captain and his new pet. And no attacking the dragon either.
[Kay points to the left, where a few minutes ago the Dratini had been staring at them. It's nowhere on sight now and Kay optics look around until he spots the tip of a blue tail peeking from under the couch.] ...well, okay, You stay there.
Cassian the dragon is shy, can you believe it? I don't think it's going to bite you or try to eat me. [He sounds relieves. The conversation about terrifying Panna dragons that eat metal is still fresh on his processor.] There were just two eggs. How many creatures could there be?
no subject
[And if one holds several animals, it's likely the other does, too. He really doesn't like their chances.]
Let's stay away from the dragon creature. If it's scared it could bite out of fright. Some animals do that [Which is pretty much the only thing he knows about animals. Hm.
He's still trying to dislodge the bird, but it has a surprisingly strong grip on his hair, and a sharp little beak, too. And now it's batting its wings to defend itself. They're cotton-soft, but the heavy weight struggling on his head isn't very fun. He sighs.] Kay? Some help?
no subject
[After inspecting it, Kay breaks open the eggshell where the dragon came from. It's his egg, he doesn't fail to notice, he could tell which one belonged to whom. Before he can properly look inside, Cassian distracts him. Had he been looking at it, Kay would have noticed a small, yellow fuzzy thing quickly crawling out of it.
Kay turns towards Cassian to help him with the bird and the Joltik takes the opportunity to jump on the droid's back, hungry for electricity. Kay's frame is too thick to gnaw it with it's mandibles and the pokemon moves up, headings towards the ports at he top of Kay's back.]
That bird doesn't have a feather in its wings, Cassian. They look like a cloud. [Arms raised towards Cassian's head, Kay tries to grab it with the same care he held Fest. Beady eyes blink and him, the bird lets out a peep and to Kay's surprise, it doesn't try to stab his fingers with its beak.] Oh...seems friendly enough.
no subject
[But hey, he's finally getting the help he needs, and he's so close to being freed from pets that he can taste it. With this in mind, Cassian can be patient.
Kay carefully pries loose the bird and Cassian gets his first good look at it. It's a blue fluff ball with white wings, which indeed look like small clouds.
It's... surprisingly cute, as far as birds go. Certainly a lot nicer than the large snake-like dragon.]
The first thing it did is annoy me. I'm certain that one hatched from your egg.

Video to Kay and Cassian
He stands there for a moment, just taking their mini-freakout in. ]
Should I give you two some privacy?
[ For someone with a Magnemite stuck to his visor, he's in a surprisingly mocking mood. ]
no subject
Hilarious. If you've got nothing useful to contribute, such as a cage for a giant bird...
[Not truly giant, but the perfect size to be a hat. It's even blue, Cassian's favorite color, he really should be more grateful.]
no subject
I'm pretty sure that privacy is impossible in this house considering how it turned into a zoo overnight. What is that thing on the side of your head?
[Because it looks like a magnet to him, and magnets are baaaad.]
no subject
I was hoping you knew. I woke up, and it was there. Any ideas?
'Magnemite'
[Garrus flinches when it speaks. It's very loud right next to his head like that.]
It keeps doing that.
no subject
[He eyes the odd creature clinging to Garrus's visor.]
That one looks more like technology than an animal, though, I haven't seen anything like that yet. Are you sure it came from the egg, and isn't some kind of droid?
[So now these eggs give you dragons, children and robots, too? This keeps getting more disturbing.]
no subject
Each of them seems to scream something different, perhaps it's their name?
[The droids optics moves up and down, trying to assess Garrus's situation.]
You should try to remove it from your face, it's way to close to sensible, soft and squishy organs.
no subject
I'm much more concerned with it messing with my electronics. My visor's not functioning properly with it stuck there. But as soon as I remove it, it clings right back on.
[He pauses, considering what was said about the joltik and Kay.]
Maybe these things are monsters here? Kind of a little lack luster if you ask me. Annoying, yeah, but not really much of a-
[Garrus' head snaps to the right and draws his assault from his back in a fluid motion. It's not aimed at anything in particular, and his eyes are sweeping the room.]
There's something else here.
no subject
His mood changes rapidly when Garrus tenses, and notes another intruder. Cassian tenses as well, wishes he could help, but he's a city away and the best he can do is not be a distraction.]
Another one of them, most likely. Our eggs held two each. Be careful. Our first encounter was hostile, if one of us had been alone with the Joltik it wouldn't have ended well.
no subject
That's a magnet. A magnet. [He nudged Cassian's arm, sounding slightly alarmed.] Cassian those things can be living magnets.
[There's an very obvious yet unspoken KEEP IT AWAY FROM ME in there. However, much like Cassian, he's quickly focussed on whatever might be attacking Garrus.]
Some can give you electric shocks. Try to move to a more open space.
no subject
Electric shocks? Well that's just peachy.
[It's probably best to just shoot the other one one sight, then. Not enough to kill it, necessarily, but enough to take it out for the count until they can find out more about these things. Speaking of, there it is, just off to his right. He aims the his weapon as he spins, and lets out a round. It probably would have looked a lot cooler if it weren't for the magnemite that was still stuck to his head. The bullet goes through the creature and lodges into the wall behind it.]
What the...? Are you guys seeing this?
[Because that thing isn't hurt. At all. It's like the bullet just phased right through it.
It turns and stares at him, tilting its head.]
Misdreavous?
no subject
He bumps his arm slightly into Kay's side in the faintest of shows of reassurance, while his eyes remain firmly on the scene one town away.
As soon as the shot goes harmlessly through the blue Pokemon with lilac-tipped hair, he's cursing under his breath.]
It's like Everglade! The ghost that attacked us there, my blaster bolts went right through it, too! You've got to do... something about it.
[Run. What he's trying to avoid saying is run, because if it's like the Everglade ghost, that's the safest path. Their conventional weapons were useless against it.]
no subject
He's feeling no less nervous than before but Cassian's bump helps. It reminds him that the man is there and not the creature Garrus is dealing with.]
Is that ghost wearing a pearl collar? [A+ observation skills. Kay today is full of obvious statements.] I think it's a lady ghost.
