[ Well the weather may not be as ideal as Lucy would have wanted it, cloudy and all, BUT it wasn't raining. So it was good enough for her! She'd sent out personal invites to her friends, and encouraged them to bring THEIR friends, as Fairy Tail's motto is always, "The more the merrier!" She actually hoped to see some new faces at the party in fact. Under Erza's supervision, the guild was tidied up and made presentable for guests. Most of the rooms were even open to the public.

Regina, Neveren and Justyne had even pitched in, helping with the cooking; their dog Herb was content to lounge outside and watch the fuss. As for Lucy, she was putting the final touches on few of the tables near the pool, keeping an eye out for guests.

[ OOC: Just setting up extra threads, but go nuts! Everyone is welcome who has positive, neutral, or no CR with the Fairy Tail gang and wants to play in a pool and be exposed to the madness :D For visual reference the guild closely resembles this ]

Those certainly are some odd instances..! While Jubei was sneaking his way along, Lucy emerged from the back, chuckling at some joke or other when she caught sight of the other. "Oh -- Um... hi there. Can I help you?"

..why is he carrying leaves?

His head turned towards her presence and Jubei paused. There were a number of chairs and tables around the room which were hard to hear over the sounds coming from outside but at least having another voice in the room helped quite a bit.

"I was escorted here after stating that I was looking for a certain herb, miss. I'm not really sure why, I don't hear any signs of a garden..." Yup, he has no idea that Herb is a dog. But it does explain his sack of random leaves at least!

Looking for a certain herb? The connection doesn't hit Lucy right away, but it will. What's more curious is the bag of leaves and the comment about the garden. "You don't... hear the garden?" But gardens don't speak..

"What kind of herb are you looking for? And.. what are the leaves for?"

"They rustle though, and have a certain smell. I'm not looking for any one in particular as figuring out what resources are in this place. Two young women said there was a nice herb here and were insistent on escorting me." He is so confused right now... Teens asked the strangest questions at such a fast pace! But he'd just have to make due. He did hold up the bag a little and frown as he recalled all the things he'd found so far. "Mint, burdock, cilantro, dandelion, ginger, basil, and rosemary."

"Okay, put that way, I guess you're right. As for resources - whatever is grown here is usually from Regina's personal garden, so if you need something you'd have to speak with her and -" She trails off suddenly as the clickclick of nails on the floor is heard, and a wet nose pokes at Jubei's leg. Said nose then starts sniffing at the bag Jubei's carrying, and Lucy chastises him. "Leave that alone, Herb."

A dog? Jubei knelt at the inquiring sniff and lightly brushed his fingers over the soft head and then scratches expertly by one ear. He'd been around Shido's menagerie long enough to know good places.

"I see... I believe someone was attempting to play a prank on me," Jubei stated after a few thoughtful moments. Knowing fingers ran slowly over Herb and lingered lightly over the place he'd been hurt before. Only claws made such ragged marks and whatever it was had been quite a bit larger. "He's healing well."

Herb's tail wagged like crazy when Jubei scratched the spot he liked to be scratched. "Ah, you said you were looking for herbs, and they sent you here." She huffed a little laugh. "That's not very nice." But it -was- kind of funny.

"Yeah, we were able to get to him quickly enough to keep his wound from getting infected, thankfully. The kids and Natsu would have been upset if he had died." Lucy too, for that matter.

Even if it wasn't a nice prank, it was still a joke and Jubei would examine it closely. And Herb's wagging was enough to bring a small smile to Jubei's face. He could understand how people became so bonded with their pets since humans often lacked an animal's ability to love and forgive.

"From your voice, I doubt you would have been indifferent. It is hardly something to hide," Jubei gave Herb one more scratch and then stood up again. He'd expected the dog to wander away but instead Herb simply sat next to him and kept looking at him. Silly dog, thinking he might need help navigating the room. "I'm Jubei by the way. Kakkei Jubei."
