...I have been in this place for a few hours now, and already I am disgusted. So many of you have acquired Pokemon, but know nothing about being a trainer. In fact, only one person among all the inhabitants of this place shows any deeper understanding of what it means to be a trainer...

[He glares at the camera as he casually drops off the top of the skyscraper, pulling the camera down with him.]

[He hits the ground with the impact of a feather, and reaches for the device, shutting off the video feed, though his words continue to echo in the minds of all who saw the video.]

Besting me in battle is the only way to prove I am incorrect. Battle is the means by which ideas, beliefs, and trust are communicated. It is how Pokemon grow, both in a metaphorical and literal sense.

I'm not a trainer, but someone I know is. If you come hunt him and his Pokemon down like you say you will, I'll fight you with my own power. I don't need a Pokemon for that.

[Her powers are pretty faulty, but as far as Tori's concerned, Mewtwo doesn't need to know that. She's willing to push herself to the limits over this.]

She's eager to get home and meet her new Treecko and Zorua. So she isn't exactly expecting Mewtwo to just APPEAR in front of them.]

I don't care about 'pokemon', if that's what these critters are called. I'm not one to stand around and let others fight for me. But... it's rather pleasant to feel another telepath again.

Hmm... I don't know if I'm a trainer or whatever, [she looks down at the Pokemon she's holding] this little guy just showed up here this morning and I couldn't just kick him out. But that doesn't mean you should go around challenging everybody to fights.

Pokemon grow through battle. For a Cyndaquil, the only way to achieve adulthood is to gain experience through battle and evolve.

To deny him that right - the right to battle and growth - is to deny him a fundamental right of his very being.
