15th Aura | Video + Action

[Jaune starts the video, shoulders tense. Behind him, there is a nondescript door and window.] Hi. Jaune Arc again. I'm just going to get to the point. I've been here a while, over a year now, and I know a lot of people who have helped Genessia. I've been thinking a lot lately about how I can do the same. More than the other cities, I consider Nova City my home. But it's not perfect, and like all the other cities, some people benefit more than others. And a lot of people are just...overlooked.

I don't regret fighting, but I don't think everyone should have to. And everyone deserves an alternative to cope in ways that end up destroying them. So I've taken my background in dancing and made a dancing studio.

[He pans the camera up to show the building behind him. It's two stories, modern looking, but the most noteworthy feature is the looming gyarados shaped sign with sweeping words below it stating: Neptune's School for Dance. He moves the camera back to his face.]

So yeah Neptune's School for Dance is a new business and dancing studio where I'm hoping we'll get to focus on all kinds of dancing. I'm open to ideas because I want it to be a place where students feel like their input is valuable and stuff. Anyone is welcome to join, it's pay what you can...what else? Oh, right, our adult classes are offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Seeing as I'm the only instructor at this time, and a Guardian Deputy, if an emergency happens obviously I'll have to focus on that. Which is why I'm hiring a second instructor and a bookkeeper. Once we grow more I might hire more instructors. [Some of the awkwardness seems to fade as he starts talking more animatedly, gesturing around.] But yeah, we'll be doing at least a few performances in the year, and some anti-violence stuff, as well as-- As well as rehabilitation. First class is free just to see if you're interested, and I guess if you have any questions you can ask them here. [He rubs the back of his neck, a bit unsure, and ends the video.]

[Action | Closed to Weiss]

[He hasn't actually been to her new home in person, but now that they're starting to mend their friendship and he has some free time, it seems like a good chance to. Equipping his pokeballs and shooting her a quick text, he heads over there and knocks on her door.]

I don't want to break the trees either. Control and restraint is more impressive than unfettered power. It takes much more work to achieve.

[ Which is why she's honestly never impressed the second someone arrives in Genessia and is like LOOK AT MY AWESOME POWER!! Like, besides the fact that they're dumb and obnoxious and really aren't going to accomplish anything besides pissing people off. ]

Just because you learn something doesn't mean you learn something worthwhile. I also learned how to make pizza bagels. It doesn't mean that I will ever do anything with that knowledge, so it was a waste of my time.
whiteas: (Banuhnuh uh don't go there.)

Of course it is. Control and restraint are useless without something to control and restrain. I thought it was implied that you should have all three.

[ She folds her arms. ] They're just fat and more fat loaded on top of carbs and more carbs. [ Sorry New York, pizza sauce is more sugar than vegetable. ]

Well, yeah. That's part of it. [ She's trying to think of examples because she's pretty sure Jaune is missing the point of what she's saying. ] Consider what happened with Pyrrha and Penny. Whatever Emerald made Pyrrha see, it made her lose control. Pyrrha has amazing power- we both know that, but put in a circumstance where she didn't have control and restraint, we lost Penny. Or like if Ruby didn't have control over her semblance, she'd be running into walls all the time. It's the same thing with my summoning, except my summoning is directly linked to my emotions. It wasn't a problem before I couldn't do it, but after the first time I managed to essentially "unlock" that power, I lost control more than once and nearly hurt people. Now I can manage it in situations where I'm not stressed, but that honestly doesn't happen often. I need to learn to control my emotions or I'll lose control of my abilities. I can't just depend on someone else to clean up a dangerous mess I create. There are going to be times when I can't do that, so learning control and restraint is more important than you know yet. Do you understand? [ She really wishes he knew his semblance so this would be easier to explain. ]

[ She makes a face back. ] They're absolutely unhealthy.
whiteas: (Penny is being a pest.)

You might just need more time to figure out who you really are and not to be impatient with it. Otherwise you end up being stuck and never admitting to your classmates that you're capable of summoning solely because you're embarrassed that you haven't managed to master your semblance like everyone else seems to have. [ Weiss Schnee was behind, Jaune, and just admitted it to you. ] How long it takes isn't important as long as you're willing to put the work in.

They're unhealthy in any amounts. They're just not horrific for you in small amounts.
whiteas: (We're students you guys stop.)

No they're not. You are. There are plenty of people who have semblances that aren't particularly useful who still become huntsmen. As you may have even noticed during the Vytal Festival, there were plenty of people who never even brought theirs into play. A semblance is important to know for the situations that you need it in, but for all you know, your semblance is the ability to survive a lifetime of eating chicken nuggets without losing sight of your abdominal muscles.

[ It truly is miraculous. He's the nug king. ]

I wouldn't call that "doomed." Sun and I eat like that every day, willingly.
whiteas: (Let me count the ways you're fucking up.)

No, Sun's abs are the best. Yours are just immune to chicken nuggets. If you stopped eating chicken nuggets, you might get abs like Sun's and then we'll talk. [ Because she knows he still trains every day, so those nugs are fighting them. ] Then you'll save people when it happens. Trying to force it just makes you frustrated and less likely to succeed, though.

[ EYE ROLL. ] It's delicious and healthy.
whiteas: (He winked.)

Jaune, it's like eating dessert all the time, except it doesn't make you feel terrible afterward.

[ She's going to have to make him a fruit bowl one of these days. ]

You're not waiting. You've got work to do, and the only way you're going to get better is to move forward.

[ She starts cleaning up the table, heading toward the sink. ] And we don't only eat fruit. Though there are plenty of sugars in them.
whiteas: (Their auras ready for the fight)

Oh I have. I had a cake butler once.

[ Cake butler is the best. Well, Klein is best, but he got promoted to family so cake butler is best butler. ]

Not yet, it's not. But it took us all years to get to where we are. By comparison, you're actually learning much faster. Who are you training with?

Well, yes. But all kinds of other things. Fish, chicken, salad, pitas, Chinese food, ramen, yogurt... all kinds of things. We just eat fruit more than other things. [ She hands it to him. ] Just because I did the cooking.
whiteas: (What the frickerdoodle?)

Yes, absolutely. You find one of the top chefs in the world, and then their job is to make and bring you the best cake and you just pay them to do that and then you can have beautiful and delicious cake whenever you want. Have you ever had blueberry cake with white chocolate ganache frosting and buttercream roses? It's amazing. [ Look, Weiss likes cake. She won't deny that. She's just very careful about when she eats it. ]

No wonder you haven't made progress. You can't train by yourself and expect to get better. You can't raise your own bar.

You shouldn't look that excited about food after we've just eaten.
