[David starts up the video feed and begins to address everyone.]

Hello. For those of you that haven't met me, I'm David Haller, Guardian of Genessia City. Given the small situation with the Chimera Infection in Fayren, and after speaking with Guardian Schnee and Guardian Xander, traveling from Genessia City to there will take a bit longer. A Decontamination Walkthrough will be attached to the Archway on the Genessia City side of things. Anyone coming from or going into the city will have to go through the process, wouldn’t shouldn’t take long.

This is being done to make sure the disease hopefully won’t spread from Fayren to other cities as well as making sure no other diseases are carried into Fayren to make the situation worse.

While there isn’t any evidence that states anyone other than mages can be infected, this precaution is still being taken. I know Mages don’t only just exist in Fayren [Everglade has its own mages and he’s sure there are some non-native mages here.]

I am also placing a restriction on any goods being brought from Fayren for the time being. Again, this is just a precaution. I’m hoping this all doesn’t last for more than a week or two, the last thing we need for this situation is for it to turn into some epidemic.

A blood sample of one infected with the disease was collected by Yukiko Amagi and brought to Genessia City to be analyzed. I’m not sure what will be discovered from the analysis, but if anything is, I will turn the information over to Guardian Xander.

You know, I thought she might want time to readjust to this place. But I should know better. I know she likes to stay busy.

I do. I'm not sure what she will charge for this service though. Maybe two bottles of that wine that she likes?

I believe Weiss would let her use the facilities at the GSRF.

How about you take me to a baseball game and drinks are on me? Does Genessia have baseball teams?

Since she already talked to you I'd guess I don't even have to ask.

Genessia does have teams. I think tickets to a game can be arranged. I'll check for upcoming games and let you know.

I guess she can stop by my office to pick up the sample if she needs to.

Then the hot dogs are on me, and no skipping the relish. Hot dogs aren't hot dogs without relish on them and you can't go to a game without having a dog.

[ This is a fact for her for at least a few more days. ]

It's no problem. Honestly, I think this might just become the standard response when any type of disease breaks out somewhere.

Agreed. With Genessia as the center for all the cities, it's the perfect place to prevent anything from spreading.

I'll work on something so that these sort of measures can be deployed at a quicker rate next time.

You can check with some of the companies there to see if they would like to donate anything to the effort.

[ He nods in greeting when the video initializes. ]

I'm glad to know something's being done. What does this...decontamination entail, precisely?

There is an elevated walkway attached to the Archway and and in the middle there is a room. You step into the room and you are sprayed down with a decontamination agent in mist form from all sides. It takes about a minute to go through the process, and its completely safe. It's not any invasive or painful.

I see.

[ He looks thoughtful. ]

And this process would be repeated upon return, I assume? [ A beat. ] And what effect would this...mist agent have on clothing?

Yep. I'm mostly worried about it getting out, as opposed to someone bringing something in. [Mostly since he hasn't heard about any infections going around in other cities.]

It disinfects them, but it doesn't stain or ruin them or anything.

[ He smiles at that, as though being worried about one's clothing when faced with an incurable disease is normal. ]

Splendid. I'm hoping to avoid a visit to Fayren all together, but thank you for the information.

[There are people like that, so he's hardly surprised.]

Still take precautions, though. I can't be sure if the disease got out of Fayren before these measures were implemented.

And what precautions would those be? How is this disease transmitted?

Make sure to keep your hands clean and wash them thoroughly before a meal, avoid close contact with the infected, ect. Just basic things you would do to prevent any sort of illness.

[ He nods. ]

Well good to know someone got a sample.

I was kind of worried about that whole situation, but good to know people are trying to keep it contained.

Thank Yukiko, she's the one that thought to acquire one.

But yes, trying to keep it contained is the best option until we can deal with it or until it passes.

Do you need anything else, or do you got it all under control?

What sort of help can you offer?

Not much, just a trainee doctor who had been working on my degree... Which one can't seem to do here, which suuucks.

There are schools here where you could probably study to get it. You might have to take an aptitude test so they could see where you are.

Your the first one to actually mention there are schools I could actually go to.

Thank you for your efforts. If this walkthrough can prevent the spread of this infection, then hopefully Everglade won't have to take its own precautions.

[And they probably wouldn't like it, if it doesn't work.]

It's possible that it could have already spread there before this precaution was taken. I don't know how often people go from Fayren to other cities or how long the infection has really been going around.

[Yukiko appeared on the feed wearing a face mask so not to either get the illness or if it was possible to actually get it to spread it even further. She hoped she couldn't get it.]

I just hope that we find something from it. Though until then I will be taking care of those who do and don't have a home in the basement of the inn in Fayren. So if you'd need anymore samples I can always get more while trying to avoid getting ill myself.

If I need anything like that I'll say, though if I did would you know someone who didn't have a magical ability to deliver them?

[She was attempting to limit it as much as possible, more so it would be more of a good idea anyway to lesson the risk.]

I would deliver them personally. I'm certain I won't have to worry about being infected with the disease. What about you? Are you safe from it? [He's not certain if her Persona thing is magic or not.]

I can't say for certain due to the fact my abilities are in a way a part of me. But in my mind I see it as a sort of magic, so if that is the case odds are likely I can be affected.

[It was hard to tell, but if she did people would be screwed due to her having fire based persona. On the upside healing based as well.]

Then I guess do all that you can to stay safe. We don't need you sneezing and tossing fire at people that you are offering a safe haven to.

During the night I would pretty much confine myself to my room, so if I feel like I'm getting ill, I'll just do that.
