[The cyborg General appears on screen, cloak over his shoulders and looking very professional. As he lifts his head to begin, he's abruptly overcome by a bout of coughing. With a grunt of annoyance, he eventually recovers and starts speaking.]

Citizens of Nova City and beyond.

To those I have not yet met, let me introduce myself. I am General Grievous and I have recently been appointed as one of your Guardian's Deputies. I vow to uphold the safety of the city and its residents, most especially those who live in Nova City where I will be stationed.

Criminals and other trouble-makers will be dealt with swiftly within the boundaries of the laws and all innocents will be protected.

On another and side note, can anyone recommend medical droids or staff that have expertise in both biological and mechanical matters? Do not waste my time with anyone but the most expert in these fields.

I can be contacted through this device at any time.

[ooc: Also open to Action for fellow deputies to meet and greet in Weiss Schnee's Guardian Skyrise in Nova City.]

[Obi-wan raised a hand, asking for the General to calm his...temper.]

Now, General, I was not at Kalee, and there are no worlds for either of us to fight over.

I have your story now, so it's my turn. You have some knowledge of Jedi history, don't you? And I'm talking about before the Clone Wars, and before the Huk War.

The reason why the Jedi tend to "interfere."

As I said, everything has two sides. The Force is no exception. There is the Light side, which I and my fellow Jedi follow. And the Dark side, where those like Count Dooku follow.

When the Jedi began, we were isolationists. Preferring to meditate on the nature of the Force...

[A server brings a pot of tea and sets it on the table. Obi-wan helps himself, refilling his cup while he continues.]
Emotion, yet peace. Ignorance, yet knowledge. Passion, yet serenity. Chaos, yet harmony. Death, yet the Force. That is our Code, our way of life.

Then the Sith emerged, drawing their power from darker emotions, such as fear and hatred. Those with ambition can see the allure of the Dark side, with it being quicker and easier to get what you want. And when people what power? [He shrugs.] It's about as quick and easy to lose your way and become something you may not have ever really intended. Even something so innocent as wanting power to save a loved one is enough to become seduced by the Dark side of the Force.

[He takes a break from speaking to take a sip of tea before cutting to the chase, as he can feel Grievous might be getting bored.]

Thousands of generations ago, the Sith tried to conquer the galaxy through fear and aggression. We, the Jedi, the only people who know how to fight the Sith as they were once our brothers and sisters. Eventually, infighting within their ranks caused them to splinter, and the Sith were defeated. The Republic, then, wanting to prevent this kind of uprising again, had the Jedi reform and serve as a peacekeeping force.

So you see, General, we're not interfering because we want to. We have to because we know the Sith are involved. We are trying to protect what is dear to us, just like anyone else who did not want to live in fear.

True. But as I said, we're peacekeepers, a branch of the military, so we're obligated to follow orders from the Chancellor and the Senate. The Jedi were asked to help resolve a conflict.

And, unfortunately, the Yam'rii got to us first...

[One could scarcely imagine what happen if the Kaleesh contacted the Republic for help first. Would Obi-wan be sitting across the table from a Yam'rii General Grievous? How mysterious...]

As much as I wish we could reset time and do things differently, it's not possible. All we can do is remember the fallen, honor their legacy and continue on. I won't let another Kalee happen, especially here in this world.

Granted, of course... if you would let me help.
