Briefing 8 | [Action/Text]
[Private - Introspection]
[It was a rarity for Blaze to start losing his patience. As a former squadron leader, he always knew that keeping a handle on his emotions was imperative in any given situation no matter what was going on around him. So when he was starting to become outwardly annoyed? Things were really getting to him. He was used to having his abilities and leadership questioned thanks to people like Perrault and Hamilton back at Sand Island and having that put into question again here as a Guardian wasn't a surprise at all... but when it was put into question and getting accusations of resting on his laurels when he had not only an attack from Icy to deal with, but a solo infiltration into a deranged circus? Both in the same month? On top of all his normal patrols and having a subarchway that could potentially kill anyone if they're left in there for too long?
Even Hamilton gave him more slack than this. And he's the guy who accused Blaze of being a traitor. At least his squadron got a party after they sunk the Hrimfaxi.
Luckily, Blaze wasn't one to let him question his own abilities or let that kind of ridicule give him cause to give up. If they really think he's doing that poor of a job or if a better candidate steps up, then they can simply vote him out next election. They're the ones who put him in this seat for two terms to begin with.
But until then, he would have to focus on bettering himself. Not that he has anything to prove to them, but he had to prove to himself that he would have the ability to handle whatever situation this world could throw at him. Even if he has the power disadvantage compared to most of the residents here.]
[Action - Holodeck'd]
[It wasn't often that Blaze would make a trip to Nova City. He actively tried to keep himself to Genessia City and Attleton, so he would always be able to respond quickly to emergencies. Today however, he'd changed his library shift and left the Guardian's office early in the morning to make a trip to visit the holodeck, the one place that he felt would be best to help him train himself both mentally and physically.
The majority of his day would be spent here, training himself in whatever scenario he could possibly think of- infiltration, hostage situations, supernatural invasions. If any would prove too difficult to him, or show the potential to take his life, Blaze had his Mismagius at the helm to end the simulations.
One such simulation would be ended prematurely after Blaze had replicated Icy's attack as closely as he could, and without the aid of the people he had before, it'd gone pretty poorly. He'd been thrown to the ground by the creature and immobilized, but before it could manage a follow up attack it would vanish along with its surroundings. Laying in the now empty room, Blaze would stay there for a few minutes to catch his breath while his Flareon hurried over to his side, dragging a bag of supplies Blaze had packed in advance. Blaze let out a heavy sigh as he sat up, shaking his head.]
No, I'm not happy with that result. We need to run it again.

[It would be sunset by the time Blaze would leave the holodeck, and it was there he realized just how painfully unprepared he really was. His equipment was by far the biggest issue, and since he especially knew that Thirteen was on his same level with access to the same equipment, there was no way Blaze could accept it. If he wanted to keep civilians, his deputy and even himself safe, changes needed to be made.]
If someone would be willing to aid me, I desperately need to purchase new equipment. Given the circumstances, I can only assume that Nova City would be my best bet for it.
Standard guns aren't going to cut it anymore.
