Belle had heard of the establishment named 'Cloak and Dagger' through a very reputable source. Dorian, who had been nice enough to share his space at the library upon her arrival. It took longer than she'd intended to but she had put aside the time to stop into the shop and inquire about a position. There was a lot in this new world that she wasn't used too and while Belle was very clever, it was a lot for her to handle all at once.
She wore the same plan dress that she was used too, finding the heavy well worn fabric comfortable and familiar among the oddness. This was her first trip into Everglade and she found the city daunting. Her eyes were drawn down foggy street corners and at unfamiliar sounds with no source. Belle breathed a sigh of relief when she reached the shop and pushed open the door.
"Hello?" She called inside. "Is anyone here?"
Belle was making her way to and from the library with a basket held protectively under her arm. She had more to do here than she had at home but she continued to take a little time each day to read. Today she was returning two books and hoping to find at least new one from the vast expanse of the library's collection. She doubted she'd read every book available to her but that didn't mean she wouldn't try to read what she could.
She hummed a sweet tune as she stepped down the busy street. She wouldn't let this place steal away her sweet disposition.
She had to find a permanent place to live but it was proving to be a daunting task. She didn't know the area very well though she'd memorized the map before leaving her home. Today she'd decided to travel to Attleton. She'd heard that it was a sweet village and a place that wouldn't be opposed to her starting a small farm. She had wanted to see Fayren as well, however she'd heard that there was currently distress in that archway.
Belle could be found at the archway, staring at the strange opening and then along the streets. Her eyes swept over the streets as she pondered her options.
"It's a rather quaint village." She spoke softly to herself while trying to figure out what to do.

Genessia's Streets/Library
Belle was making her way to and from the library with a basket held protectively under her arm. She had more to do here than she had at home but she continued to take a little time each day to read. Today she was returning two books and hoping to find at least new one from the vast expanse of the library's collection. Attleton

Genessia Streets
Mewtwo had been attending to business in Nova City, and was on his way back to his sanctuary in Fayren. He was simply gliding over the sidewalk, a half-full crate of berries of all kinds of shapes, sizes, and colors following him. He turns a corner almost bumping into Belle, but just arches an eyebrow at her outfit. It wasn't quite the style one saw usually in Genessia.
Genessia Streets
"Oh."
She knew that there were those stuck here who weren't human but she hadn't met all that many of them. Etiquette and decorum told her not to stare but instead met his gaze as they spoke. "I am sorry. I should have been watching where I was going. Can I ask?" She paused rising two fingers to her lips. "It might be rude to ask but I've never seen anyone like you before."
Re: Genessia Streets
He makes a small sigh, a soft raspy "mew" escaping him. The box floating behind him shifted closer to his back so as to avoid it being in anyone's way as they passed. He flicked his tail slightly as a voice echoed within Belle's mind.
I apologize if this is jarring but telepathy is the easiest form of communication for me as my vocal chords are only developed enough to form a single syllable. However to answer your question, you may call me Mewtwo.
Genessia Streets
This was new and more than a little shocking. Belle tried her best not to appear tense though it was difficult given the situation. "I see. That's quite alright. Is it comfortable for me to speak to you as I normally would?" She didn't know if she had to speak through her own thoughts.
Genessia Streets
It makes no difference to me.
He crosses his arms, turning to face a traffic light as if waiting for the signal to change... despite his ability to simply fly or teleport, and that it was not the way he was going when bumping into Belle. However, Belle had piqued his curiosity. Her mind - what little he felt without reading it directly - was unique. Like a sponge, eager for knowledge but with no ambition of personal gain. He'd never met someone like that and was hoping to converse more, but was too much of a grump to initiate conversation.
Genessia Streets
"Have you been here long? I'm afraid that I've only been here for a little over a fortnight. I'm learning my way around." She knew Genessia proper decently well but she'd yet to spend time expanding the area she was familiar with. There was much that she needed to learn while she was here. The most fascinating so far and the most convenient was the laundry machine.
Genessia Streets
"Yes. Well over a year at this point, but I've stopped keeping track. I've long since accepted this place as my new home."
He mused for a moment on what that just meant. It had been so long, so many people came and went, yet he remained. Genessia had become mundane for him. Something he didn't think he'd ever feel. "It is probably for the best that way."

Everglade
And out from the back in a brief puff of stone dust and smoke, comes... A man about five foot five, gray looking thanks to the dust and powder.
And clearly a Catholic priest. There's really no getting around it. Stark white hair long and dry and thick, massive circular glasses, with a vague, sickly sort of look about him, wheezing a bit from the irritants he'd just willingly exposed himself to.
Just a moment.
"What'd ye need, miss?" A thick Irish brogue too, listen hard, he's a fast talker.
Everglade
"Oh excuse me sir."
Her expression softened as she continued.
"I had been speaking to Dorian and he said that you were in need of a scribe. I was hoping to offer my services to you. I know very little about magic but I am quite familiar with books and the written word."
no subject
"Knowin' magic ain't a requirement, lessons for staff members are optional if ye want to pick up a few things. Learnin' how to craft and cast improves your wages after all."
He bustles past to arrange a few newly carved charms on the shelf, continuing to talk.
"We can always use help with writin' books and copyin' spells here. The books themselves ain't usually magical in and of themselves, so ye don't need to worry about havin' a head for enchantment yet. 'Course ye can work here.
Would ye like to take some of those lessons as well?"
no subject
Belle turned to follow him as he spoke. She had already decided that she liked him very much.
"Thank you." She hadn't thought it'd be so easy. It was harder for women to gain work where she was from. She'd hoped this place would be easier if it's tenants were as brilliant as Dorian.

So Belle wouldn't be the only lady in this shop!
"Of course, buildin' the item itself before enchantin' it is entirely an option, I'd be more than happy to assist, and on the days I ain't in-"
All none of them-
"Dorian I'm sure could do it as well. He's quite good at it.
You're welcome, ye can start today for the rest of the day, or tomorrow. We're open every day of the week, just shorter hours on Sunday."

"When did you start learning magic?"

Attleton
Offering help to strangers on the street wouldn't have been something that crossed the Captain's mind back home, but this place forced everyone to adjust.
So he found himself approaching her, albeit a bit hesitantly. "Excuse me? Do you need help?"
Attleton
"This is my first chance to see these archways and it's unlike anything I've seen before. I wonder how they are formed." She lightly pressed the pad of her finger against the vale though she only felt a soft warmth from it.
no subject
"No, no, you weren't in the way. I was just..." He raised a hand. "Trying to be helpful?" Trying to fit in with all that disturbing neighbourly solidarity that seemed to be common here. "I'm afraid I don't know anything about the archways, other than that they exist. I'm more on the technological than magical side of things here."
no subject
Belle lowered herself in a slight curtsy. "I am Belle. It's nice to meet you. I was hoping to find a home in Attleton though I don't have much money. Do you know the town?"
no subject
It's a lovely town, looking indeed very quaint and peaceful, but Cassian had already seen its ugly sides. He frowned as he thought about how to best bring that up. "I've only just moved here myself, or am in the process. We're currently building a house. Attleton's not as peaceful or safe as it appears at first glance, but we too chose to come here since it's cheaper than other places. If you need a large house with a garden it's the best place to go, even with its dangers. You can't afford a place like that in Nova City, and even though every second house in Everglade is haunted it hasn't lowered the prices."
no subject
"I'm not sure I'll have enough to purchase a place in Attleton but I do hope to find something suitable. Where I'm from women can't own land but live with fathers or brothers." Neither of which she had here. Either way, Belle was determined.
"Haunted doesn't sound so bad. As long as it's quite enough to sleep." Belle was too easy going. "But I would love to have a garden. I had a small farm back home."

Attleton
She took a break from flying and spotted a bug crawling along the sidewalk. She attempted to give chase, crawling on all fours with her face close to the ground, not even paying attention to her surroundings until she nearly runs into Belle's feet. Startled, the little dragon scrambled backwards.
"Oh! I-I'm sorry! I-I didn't mean to...!"
Attleton
"No, you're fine. I'm sorry. You surprised me."
She exhaled softly and pushed at the basket under her arm. "I'm Belle. Do you live around here?"
no subject
"Belle? That's...a lovely name. Mine is Liora." She stands on her legs and bows her head.
"No, I'm staying in Fayren now. I'm actually from Sornieth."
no subject
She shifted so that she was standing comfortably and still able to dress the dragon appropriately. She knew of Fayren though it was one of the places that she hadn't been to yet. Belle had heard of a conflict of some sort rising there and wasn't sure if it was wise to rush in blindly.
"I haven't been to Fayren. Do you mind telling me some about it?" She would have asked about Sornieth but from the unusual sight of Liora, Belle can guess that it's another world and since she's still learning about Genessia she'll have to remember to ask Liora about it later.
no subject
"Well... I've been told that my name means 'my light.' Which is fitting, since I am a Light dragon...
"Fayren is...nice. Many magic users prefer that city over the rest. There are some dragons that live there too, but they prefer to keep to themselves. There's only one other dragon from Sornieth here.
"But recently there's been an infection spreading around that affects magic users. They have flu-like symptoms, and they lose control of their magic. I may not be able to use light-based magic, but I haven't had any other symptoms. So I don't think I'm infected..."
no subject
Belle had been hearing a lot of magic, in part to the fact that she worked in a shop that specialized in charms. It wasn't located in Fayren but she'd make a point to visit the place.
"That sounds awful. Do you know the cause?" Something that only affects those who use magic? It's a curious thing and Belle wonders if it's from Fayren or if it was from somewhere else and brought to Fayren. "Or has this happened before?"
