[Video] - 1st Entry

[The smart phone opens to the picture of a blonde-haired woman, dressed in a uniform of azure and royalty, looking at the screen which captures her image with a concerned and worrisome expression. Her eyes are fresh with tears, rudely awoken and confused at her new surroundings, though the video does little to explain such affairs before she speaks.]

It is almost similar to the Sheikah Slate.. Hello? I am unsure if this tool is in working order so I hope this message is received by some one near by. My name is Zelda, Princess and daughter of the Royal Family of Hyrule. The provided tomes I've discovered here explain a great deal, but they do not alleviate any such concerns I have for my family and friends.

I am uncertain if there is any one capable, but some assistance would be appreciated. In the meantime, while I wait here before these archways, I will continue to read and study and observe what I can. What I am certain of is that I am not the first to arrive here, and I am also sure my requests are more than likely routine for whoever is listening.

[She lowers her head, turning a palm up to her eyes to wipe away the remnants of her frustration and sadness.]

I have many questions that I would prefer to impose upon another rather than rely on text, if any one is willing. Please, let this message reach some one. Again, my name is Zelda, and I am standing before a series of archways. If there is any one listening, please hear my call.

[She crawled along the ground, knees and hands keeping her upright as she poured over the different pamphlets and brochures that had been provided. To any and all who arrive to find her, the young Princess looks more like a studious traveler than a lost cause. She speaks to herself, muttering different locations and terms that she picks from the different pieces of text, as if reciting them assists in her memorizing the observations she makes.]

Schnee.. Genessia.. A smart phone? How extraordinary. And these pendents? What is it that allows for the functionality with these gateways? Is it some form of magic, or an ancient piece of technology? Peculiar, very peculiar.

[Zelda is greeted with what seems to be a talking metal man. He's not the most reassuring person out there but she looks so lost that he can't but feel sorry for her.]

Hello, Princess Zelda, my name is K-2SO. Your family and friends should be exactly where they were before you awoke up here. This is a different world than your own, as the hologram might have informed you already, and time stops in your universe while you are here.

[It takes the perplexed Princess a moment to speak, caught off guard by the appearance of what seems to be a well-guarded Knight in layers of armor.]

Kay-Two-Ess-Oh? A pleasure to meet you, Sir Knight. I do thank you for the response, but may I ask how it is that such a thing is possible? How is it that I have come to this place, and how is time so easily manipulated?

[No easy answers, she's sure of that, but it would be a mistake for her to not ask, of course. She swallows hard, looking at the Metallic Man, unsure of whether or not she's speaking with a man or a suit of iron.]

[Kay is used to getting surprised looks so he waits until she's ready to speak. Being compared to a knight is a novelty, though.]

Yes. You can call me Kaytoo, it might be easier. Knight? Me?...You are welcome. and you can ask as much as you want, I'll answer to the best of my ability. This world exist outside realities and timelines, it brings here people from all sort of places but we are not sure why or how it happens. [Not the most helpful answer but is all he's got from now.]

There are five different cities, each one with their own culture, technology, and laws. Around them all, there are barriers that stop us from leaving but also prevent monsters and other bad things from getting inside. That side, this world isn't so bad.

I see. I was expecting as much, in reference to the reasons for my arrival, that is. I do appreciate the information, Kaytoo.

Yes, I did read something about the different locations here. [There's a shuffling sound as she looks away from the phone, rifling through the many different pamphlets she'd secured but a few minutes ago.]

I am to find a residence within one of these areas, yes? I suppose the amenities will be vastly superior to simply camping in the wild. [A past-time she did not mind, least when the company was well received.] Do people here tend to live in solitude or are most situations here communal?

Welcome and sorry I can't give you more data. We all wish to know what's really going on but not even people who have lived here for years can tell what brought them to the city.

You need to be careful not all cities are safe. There was a disease going on in Fayren this last week, similar to the flu but it affected people who could use magic. [And if her ears are any indication, she might not be human at all.]

Three's still time to find a suitable home for you. Since you just arrived, you can stay in Genessia Commonspace building for a whole month. Is not too fancy but it's a safe place.

It's certainly no fault of yours, but the information you've provided has been most helpful. I do hope those afflicted by this, "flu", you said? I hope they are in better health now. How peculiar that such a thing would only target those that use magic. Is.. magic something that is not looked kindly upon, at least in this realm?

[She clears her throat before answering the latter of his remark, trying to think on a good way to describe what was once Hyrule.]

Vast, much like an endless book where boundaries are unknown until one steps into the pages to explore and see what the world holds. Lush, vibrant, and green, one could not ask for a better home.

(Passing the Bay was a common enough occurrence for Dorian on the way to Everglade, and work as it so stood. He hadn't happened upon a newcomer thus far though, and this one was curious. The mage, his staff lashed to his back rather than used as a walking stick, watched her from a few yards away at first, listening to her muttering to herself before approaching, the sun glinting on the various pieces of metal and polished stone sewn into his clothing.)

Rather smart, yes, and a bit of both, really, though I'd hardly call the technology ancient. Peculiarity, as it were, is often in the eye of the beholder.

(He places a hand over his heart and bows slightly at the shoulders in greeting.)

I am Dorian of House Pavus. A pleasure to make your acquaintance. I take it you're new here? That or you really choose strange locations in which to study.

[The sudden utterance of words that weren't her own catches the Princess by surprise. She lightly jumps, enough to show that she's startled but certainly not enough to show she's unaware. She rises to her feet, brushing herself off as she puts a hand to the base of her throat, letting out a long sigh of air.]

Forgive me, I was so taken in by these odd scripts that I did not notice any one else.

[Her cheeks turn to the shade of a bright, red radish, some shame in not properly knowing she had company while she was crawling along the ground like a child.]

The pleasure is mine, really. I am Zelda, daughter to the Royal Family of Hyrule. I- [She stutters for a moment, looking back and forth before her lips turn into a rather immature pout of sorts.] I suppose I am rather obvious, what with all of these different parchments strewn about. Though, it is safe to assume that you are not a stranger to this world?

Is that right? (He'll not make assumptions, of course. Not all royals are selected by birth. It's very possible her parents being royalty does not, in fact, make her the Princess of this Hyrule.) I'm afraid you're rather far from home, Your Grace, but it isn't all bad, I assure you.

(He rolls a shoulder in a shrug before nodding.)

It's familiar enough to me to answer a few simpler questions. For instance, I could show you the way to your temporary housing. It...leaves so much to be desired it's painful, but it will suffice for the first month.

(He pulls the hem of his robes up before kneeling at her scattered paperwork, beginning to collect the brochures.)

It's refreshing to see another so keen on learning what they can of this place, by the way. Far too many arrive with only an interest in bemoaning their fates. Irritating really.

[Her shoulders drop with another sigh, eyes looking to the ground below as the scattering of paperwork covers the what little soft soil is beneath them. Arms cross over her chest before she turns back to look directly at informative gentleman, her eyes looking all the more anxious.]

You are not the first to remark of such things. I've seen enough in my few short years to know that it is better to forge ahead than to hang onto uncertainty, though..

[She pauses, raising a single palm to push against her forehead as she feels a slight ache taking over her thoughts.]

'Tis one matter to say such and another to follow it. I'm glad that my behavior is a change of pace, but I would be lying if I did not state my dismay at being brought here. I don't wish to assume there is some greater purpose for me here, and I don't wish to assume that there are simple or easy answers to such questions. [She straightens up, keeping a stiff upper-lip as her morose expression slowly fades into one of determination.] I find pouring over information to be a formidable distraction against such needless worry. I do not think I would be the woman I am today if I wasn't gifted such an interest in discovery and learning.

[She kneels down once more, assisting in the collecting of notes and scripts so as to not leave her company finishing the chore.] Forgive my mess, I do get carried away with such things.

[She's met with an almost obnoxious red suit. Although he didn't have the answers she seeks, he did press the reply button before he could change his mind. His lips pressed into a thin line briefly.]

Have you tried he library?

[The sudden appearance of the crimson-colored suit catches her by surprise, having only ever seen such attire on those that sought to topple both her Kingdom but the trusted tribe of the Sheikah. There is reluctance before her response, a calculated pause that subdues her excitement at the notion of a library for her to peruse and plot through.]

A library, you say? [She speaks with lips quivering, a pout coming to them as she returns the question with a query of her own.] Do you not think it rude to speak to a lady without giving a proper introduction first? To whom might I be speaking with? I have given my name. Is there some reason as to why you have not given yours?

[Part of her doesn't wish to be so cold so quickly, but it is hard to discern whether or not the gentleman is in fact a member of the Yiga Clan, even if the realm she now presides in is not her own.]

Hm.

[There is a pause as a hand moved idly to his chin to give apparent serious thought to her question. Manners he had not been schooled in, but he did have enough training to know that a Princess was a higher rank than his.

However, he finally parted his lips for a small grin.]

Not at all, but it's Michio. My rank doesn't mean anything here, and I thought more about your problem than greetings.

[His mirth reflected in his speech, he lifted his head to gaze in a direction silently for a few seconds before it was broken by a grumble and his gaze fell back to the screen.]

Anyway, yes there's a library here.

[So the error had been pointed towards her, standing there with a childish pout to her lips as he'd so keenly observed her lack of patience when he had been holding to her well-being the entire time. She lowers her head, grumbling something inaudible before looking back into the phone with a smug and impatient look at her features.]

I.. I see. Well then, Sir Michio, I thank you for your concern and I shall forgive you for overlooking etiquette since you were more concerned with my situation in place of formalities.

Where might I find this library? Is it accessible to the public or is it reserved only to those of a certain "rank", since you mentioned it?

[Her grumblings drew forth a wider grin in turn, but he opted to be civil with this one. Well-being did rate higher on his priorities than formalities; which he cared little for anyway.]

[His tone hints at irony, as he never expected to address a real one.]

I've been making good use of it myself, there's a great deal different here from my home. I'd imagine far more so for you.

Father did his best to keep our library with the latest books from scholars and priests, but I suppose it would be ignorant and idiotic of me to think my modest library would some how compare to an unknown housing of tomes and script.

[She closes her eyes, turning away from the camera and turning her nose upward as she speaks. She's not usually so catty or spoiled, but the current situation is putting her on the side of irate with her worrying and uncertainty.]

And where might you be from, Sir Michio? My kingdom of Hyrule is not known to many, and unfortunately we know very little of the world outside our borders.

I'd expect royalty to be more magnanimous.

[He barely manages to cover a chuckle by clearing his throat in reply. She might be disliking him, but he on the other hand is enjoying her reactions immensely.]

Let's see. I am amongst those that haven't heard of your kingdom. For me, I'm from Fort LaFayette, Kaison, Albol Star System. Though I guess you could say I've gotten a second chance on Tureil, same Star System. That would put me from Elysium.

[There are very few moments in her lifetime where Zelda can recollect that she has been at an utter loss for words. Flabbergasted, caught off guard, whatever one would like to call it; it does not equate for how lost she is by the locations and origins of which her acquaintance speaks.

Part of her wishes for the gentleman to withdraw a map and point her in the proper direction to the library so that she might know more of what actual language he is speaking, while another part of her simply wants a map to point her in the proper direction for simple thought.

She sputters, blinking her eyes and then finally coming to a response.]

Excuse me.. I beg your pardon but could you please say that again? I am not quite sure I understood your words. You said you are from where exactly?

[Now there is an open chuckle. He had been only making a guess at her situation since he had only really been introduced to kingdoms on Tureil. He tilts his head thoughtfully at the question. It seems like she might not fathom his answer, and he is doubting a great many will.]

Well, Princess, I'm from Fort LaFayette. It's a military base, on Kaison; a planet in the Albol Star System.

[She remains stuck on the idea that the gentleman she's speaking with is from "another planet", as if her thoughts were entrenched in thick glue laden with curiosity. With a single finger between her teeth she gives a slow nod of her head, whispering a few things to herself before she responds once more.]

Albol Star System. Noted. So, you're a military man, are you? Or is your being from a military base coincidental and not due to occupation?

Well, your highness, you're definitely not the only one here who's had questions. [His tone isn't exactly gentle, and there's a hint of disbelief when he uses the title, without any outright disrespect meant.]

I'm sure you're already being set upon as I speak. Doctor Leonard McCoy, if you've got any other questions I can try to answer them. Haven't been here long but I think I've gotten most of the spiel.

[It was a little much for him to take everything in, especially words he didn't know. But he got one thing: she was new. Taking a deep breath, he turned on his video and did his best to try and speak clearly.]

I-I could try to answer questions.

A doctor, you say?

[Her idea of what sort of person a doctor might be is unfortunately skewed due to the two she had come to know. It would be a poor assumption on her part to think that his McCoy gentleman was anything like them.. and already she could tell he was a lot less eccentric.]

Spiel? Ah- tell me, Doctor McCoy, what is it you are a doctor of? Though I suppose a more important question would be "what should I do now?"

[McCoy raises an eyebrow at the question, like it should have been obvious.]

Medicine, but if that's not what you were asking I was with Starfleet most recently. But you probably don't know what that is.

My advice? Go to the free housing and start looking in the classifieds. You've got a month before your money runs out, and before that happens you should figure out what work you can do.

[Her expression changes instantly at the news of his profession.]

Ah-! Then you aren't a simple tinkerer! Thank goodness! Forgive me, there aren't many doctors where I come from and those that profess such a profession seem more in line with inventors and explorers than some one studying anatomy or healing potions.

[Whether by her usual bookworm-ish behavior or simply as a distraction from her current woes, the Princess continues to prod the good doctor with questions, akin to an examination of symptoms.]

What is it that drove you to pursue such a noble career?
