It was night-time, and Velvet Lust was open for business. Tannusen could be found either at the bar downstairs, sitting on one of the stools instead of helping pour drinks, or upstairs at that bar trading commentary with the snarky bartender on duty. Either way, he was drinking tea.

B. [OPEN - anyone ICly under-age, or who just wants to]

Day or night, if anyone lingered for long enough just outside of the bar, it was going to eventually draw someone's attention.

C. [LOCKED - Velvet Lust staffers]

Before the bar opened for the night, Tannusen could be found on either floor of the establishment. Stocking things, fixing something, or... even lounging around as a tiger. Staff were always allowed to come and go for several hours before opening time.

The alien bounty hunter with the wide-brimmed hat was seated at one of the stools at the bar. He ordered a drink and may or may not be waiting for someone. He's been in here a couple of times - as if just passing through to check-up on something - but only once had he stopped in for a drink some months ago and that time he had been with Deadpool.

He had a serious look to the set of his expression as he eyed the crowd and sipped at his drink.

[Peter had claimed some room at the furthest corner of the bar that he could for their meeting. It had taken a while to set up between exploring the city, procrastinating on finding legitimate work, and finding a time Garrus was actually available.

He was there now though, and could only assume that the other two would be shortly. For the time being he was leaning back, people watching, a drink on the table in front of him, his headphones on and his head nodding to the beat - despite the bar's own music.]

While Sonico is used to singing to rooms full of people, and rooms with very few people too, she is more nervous than usual given that this is her first performance for Velvet Lust. Still, for this evening she gives it her very best, doing what she can to impress and make a good impression.

For tonight, Sonico is sleek and rather glamorous, singing sweet ballads and soft seductive jazz numbers into the microphone. There is every chance that she's getting it wrong, that this isn't what the patrons want, but she'll do her best to choose the right tempo to suit the atmosphere of the room around her.

When it's time for a break, Sonico takes herself to the bar for some water to quench her thirst, and perhaps she'll be looking for something a little neater to settle her nerves.

Alleyana had told Dorian when he'd first arrived to find himself a distraction, and with two jobs and a side project, not to mention a heap of literature from other worlds to fill his days, he felt he'd done a rather good job, all things considered. Still, even with so many things going on, it was nice to have a place to unwind. If that meant having a handsome man or two to flirt with mixed in, all the better.

Tannusen's Velvet Lust was just such a place at least the downstairs, and it was there he had the pleasure of watching Sonico perform. Until the moment she'd taken the stage, he hadn't even known she was a performer. From his somewhat secluded table he made his way to the bar as she did for her break, sliding onto the bar stool next to her and setting down a half-empty glass of wine before him on the bar as he did so. Tonight he was wearing royal blue robes over his usual leathers, having found a wonderful tailor in Everglade who was fascinated with Tevene fashion. Such a blessing.

He smiled amicably as he looked over to her. "You have a sparkling voice, Sonico. It's a pleasure. I didn't know you were a performer."

Sonico sipped slowly at her ice cold water with her eyes closed, enjoying the moment to calm herself down. When she heard the voice beside her, Sonico opened her eyes again and turned to him with a pleased smile and bright eyes, "Oh, thank you. Very much. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!"

And here came Tannusen, passing his mug over the bar for Bob to refill for him from the large, steaming glass teapot kept back there. Fragrant, expensive oolong tea, steeped just so.

Anyone could order it, but Tannusen was usually one of the only tea-drinkers at any given bar. The perks of being the owner; at least it wasn't crap, here.

"That's a hell of a hat," the tiger commented to Cad, as his mug was refilled. "You're the poor guy who lives with Wade, aren't you?"

"I was wondering when you'd actually take a break," Tannusen chuckled, sliding into one of the empty seats beside her. "You're doing great, though. Is the setup good?"

Meaning the mic, the stands, the speaker system, all of it. While nothing was turned up to make her blast through the place like an auditorium, it was there to give a little boost so she didn't have to blow her voice out projecting the whole time.

"Oh my~! You're quite the interesting looking fellow, aren't you?"

Aaaand here's Koumyou Sanzo, tipping to one side on one foot, over an empty stool, so that he can peer up under Cad's hat.

"I don't think I've seen anyone so literally blue, before!"

Sonico flushed at his first comment - he was her boss, after all. "Oh - did I sing too long?" She smiled at at the compliment though, nodding her head as she graciously acknowledges it. "Thank you - yes! The sound is really lovely in here. It's such a nice bar too." She glanced around the room for a moment, appreciative, then went back to sipping her water.

"Hello, Sonico!" Koumyou waved from a few seats down the bar, as cheerful as ever. "Long time no see!"

They'd met aaaall the way back at the singles event at the diner. Five months later, and they're both apparently still here!

"What? No, you're fine!" Tannusen chuckles, "I used to sing gigs, myself, so I know how fast one can dry up. And thank you, I put a lot of work into this place. Including keeping it clean."

All of that hardwood gleamed faintly in the comfortable lighting; well-polished, no grit or grime to be found except whatever had been tracked in so far for the night just by virtue of foot-traffic. It would all be swept back out and wiped down again when they closed in the morning, just like every morning.

Koumyou was a regular at Velvet Lust. Most often, he was upstairs enthusiastically shaking his ass to the music. Off-beat, sometimes... did he do that on purpose? No one knew for sure.

But, he was also fond of sake.

And sometimes fond of less... noise.

So, tonight he was downstairs, seated primly at the bar with a warm bottle and a saucer cup before him, cheerfully chatting up Bob the bartender in between delicate sips. The patron to his right wasn't terribly interested in talking, but the seat to the left of him was empty. How long it'd stay that way was anyone's guess.

"Thanks," he replied about the hat, tipping it briefly. "And are you offering me your sympathies?"

Bane eyed Tannusen as he took another swig of his drink. It was more of a politeness while he waited - and he had been waiting to see if Wade was here. He didn't drink a lot. This one glass will last him a while.

[cadbane]

There's a steely red gaze in response, along with an oddly raspy voice.

"You got a problem with that?"

He sounded like somebody you wouldn't mess with twice.

"Maybe a little bit, yes," Tannusen smiled, "I play with Wade a lot, and he's a good friend. But then he goes home... and I go home."

And he doesn't live with the menace.

"Oooh, and red eyes?! It's too bad they're not orange!"

KOUMYOU STAHP.

The high priest un-leaned, but only to take a seat on the stool he'd been leaning over, instead. "Why would I have a problem with that? I love blue! Like the sky on a nice warm day."

"He can be trouble but useful trouble," Bane said with a wry smirk. "And you never get bored."

While he did think Wade was a handful at times and he'd agreed to live with him for convenience at first, the merc had grown on him and maybe there was even a bit of fondness there. He wouldn't put up with any of Wade's nonsense but on the other hand he knew the man did have the skills to back up his mouth.

"Your comparison is lacking sense," Bane remarked, having more of his drink. He seemed to be unimpressed with the attention but out of mild curiosity and boredom while he killed time, he did ask. "Why would you want orange eyes?"

"That's very true," Tannusen chuckled at that. Hadn't he hired the guy as his 'Event Manager'? Wade's job description was to party his ass off upstairs and try to rile others up into it with him. He was pretty good at that. Chaos in leather, a great combination in the pooka's book.

"Are you the one who had him by the ankle, the other day?"

[cadbane]

"He was going to get up to some mischief in the city and I delayed his leap out of the window."

So that was a yes. He'd let Wade go when they'd struck a bargain.

"You weren't encouraging that, were you? One day he might get a bounty on his head."

Which showed how much he was looking out for Wade since an extra bounty would be good for business. To prevent it was a loss of money.

"Are you asking if I would ever be a bad influence?" Tannusen asked, amused, resting the side of his jaw in one hand, elbow propped up on the bar. "Because the answer's always yes. Who do you think was going to be flying him around?"

"I did, very much so." He continues to smile and takes a sip from his wine before continuing.

"How long have you been performing?"

[cadbane]

"How do you profit from that?"

He was much less about fun and mostly all about what he could get from any deal or job. It was always a job and not something just for the sake of enjoyment with him.

Yeah that was not a question coming from someone who believed in much of the way of sentiment.

Well, Tannusen had a good answer for that, too.

"Glamour is produced by creativity, chaos, and strong emotions... like joy."

Things that swirled around Wade Wilson at all times. Maybe not always the giddy joy; the guy had his definite dark parts. But strong emotion? Oh yes.

"And Glamour is what keeps me alive."

Thus, Velvet Lust in general. Did he have other, more noble reasons for this place? Yes, actually. But if one had to boil everything down to profit, red bills simply weren't what the tiger was after.

"I take it you mean that in a literal sense," the bounty hunter watched Tannusen intently but otherwise he wasn't showing much of any emotion other than a grim seriousness. It may be strange to think that he and Wade could even get along, let alone live together but maybe opposites were a key here.

And lots of firepower.
