ACTION [ota]
[Spock has devoted pretty much all of his free time since his arrival a few weeks ago to the Genessia Scientific Research Foundation in an attempt to learn more about the world that they’re all trapped on, hoping that a deeper understanding will help facilitate figuring out how to get off this rock. And while he trusts his peers’ work, there is nothing better than a first hand account. Which is how he found himself approaching the barrier. He hasn’t seen it for himself; maybe he can spot something that was previously missed. He’s been fully warned not to touch it, but a close look certainly can’t hurt, right?
Wrong.
He’s still a hundred feet away from the barrier when he feels it hit him: a wall of emotions unlike anything he’s ever felt. He can’t even make one out above the other, it’s just too much too much too much. Through the sensation his mind is racing. He’s not touching the barrier, nor was he trying to use any sort of telepathy when the sensation struck. It’s only been about three seconds and his mind feels as if it’s about to explode; this is far more intense than any meld he’s done before. His logic dictates him with one final thought before the surge overwhelms him and he crumbles to the ground: they were wrong about the barrier’s reach.]
((ooc: Spock has passed outhis first month here this has to be some sort of record and will awaken in the hospital in a few hours! Feel free to visit him there to make sure he’s okay, or berate him for being an idiot.))

He looks back to McCoy when he points out the obvious fact that no, Spock is indeed not a table. He’s able to recognize the doctor’s mother henning; he should probably calm him before he calls security in here.]
You may have them; I ate before I went to see the barrier. [He’s not ungrateful, Koishi. He’s just Spock.] I met Miss Komeiji upon my arrival here. She was in the bay area.
[So to answer his question: technically but not really.]

"You know, Mister. People would answer your questions more if you asked them in a nicer way." Lecturing despite the fact she was the invader here. "And I came in through the window. I always come visit through the window because its much faster than climbing all the stairs or taking those elevator things."
And then to Spock "Yeah!" Koishi pipped up in agreement. "And that means we're friends now!" That's a rather bold claim... "And friends visit friends when they get hurt or sick and bring gifts! But if you aren't hungry the louder mister can have the cookies. That's okay. There will always more cookies to enjoy later." She held out her hands, her third eye settling into them, the little youkai checking it carefully for any marks and brushing dust off.
"Still, you should stay away from the barrier without help or you might get hurt again. Those things are really dangerous. Especially if you're alone. Sometimes there are videos on the little screen phone thing. I dunno if there are spirit videos but you could see for yourself if there was."

I don't want the damn cookies, I was planning on sending her back out with them. [He jerked his head pointedly in Koishi's direction at that. That, obviously, still didn't tell him much. He was planning on asking Spock if he even wanted her there, but he was getting more irritated by the second.]
You. [McCoy turned his gaze to the intruder.[ You don't get into someone's room through the damn window. If you want to visit go downstairs and check in as a guest. You tell them who you want to visit and they'll check who's allowed to. You can't just circumvent the whole damn process because you feel like it.
Now get, or I'll call security.
[Regardless of what ws going on with that wandering eye of hers.]

I see. [He's still fairly new to this whole friends thing but he's pretty sure that's not how that works. Then again, the customs of her galaxy might dictate otherwise. Did the definition of friendship vary system to system?
He can ponder more on that later. For now, he addresses McCoy.]
I believe it is against human customs to reject a gift. Perhaps the Captain might enjoy them? [Jim Kirk plus a box of sugar what could go wrong?
Spock is smart enough to not interrupt his lecture as he tries to shoo her away. When it came to medical space that was undeniably his territory and he has learned that there was no winning a fight against him over it.]

And then to Spock. "It's human custom to try to reject a gift a couple times but then reluctantly accept it. But I don't know why that's the custom. I think that's just with big and expensive things though." She tilted her head, frowning. "Oh... Um. Does the 'Captain' like cookies? I dunno if you like cookies either but I figured I couldn't go wrong with them!"
Letting her third eye go, it drifted back down to its rightful place in front of her chest, one of the arteries looping itself into a heart.

I suggest you try a different trick for the same result, and get out of here the way you came in. I'm comfortable explaining to them after and escalating things as far as I have to if you do have some kind of trick up your sleeve. I know they're not strangers to that around here.
And, [McCoy continues, not taking his eyes away off of their interloper now.] for the last damn time Spock, there isn't really a set human custom for anything. Besides, as you keep reminding us, you're not - and she sure as hell isn't.
[He moved, still keeping her in the corner of his eye to the side of the bed, resting a hand casually on what just happened to be the call button.]
Now, why don't you try standing up, Spock?
no subject
[He faces McCoy now.] I was referring to your dismissal of the gift, not my own. I am aware that I am Vulcan; as I have assured you, I have not suffered any lasting effects from the experience. [To prove his point, he stands up gracefully at Bones’ request.]
McCoy is lucky Koishi rolled well on the dice.
And then she turned to Spock. "Oh... Umm... My powers don't turn off. So I can't really help it. It's all subconscious and I don't like feeling threatened. But I can make sure I don't hurt anyone with my powers. I'm good at that." Better than nothing.
Koishi did drift back, wringing her hands a little as Spock climbed to his feet. "Don't fall, okay Mister? Psychic shock can be hard to deal with so you need to be really careful, alright?" As much of a pest as she could be, at least her concern was genuine.

If you really get what I'm saying now do me a favor and do what I asked and let me do my damn job. You can't get threatened if you're not here when they get here.
[He was no less firm than he had been, but if she was going to cooperate now he'd take it. He just wanted her out of the damn room and away from his patient until he knew what the hell was actually going on.
He gave Spock a brief look as well, expression firm, as if asking him for a hand.]

[Spock sees the look McCoy gives him; he seems to be at his limits, and an angry Bones can only lead to Hell.]
Miss Komeiji, your concern for my well-being is… appreciated. [He will never get used to other species’ needs to express gratitude so readily.] I would, however, prefer that his medical examination of me be done in private. Perhaps we could reconvene at a later time?
no subject
She was ignoring McCoy for now. If he had a chance to talk to the other doctors later they would have quite a few stories about the little green visitor being near impossible to get rid of. Though uninvited she was, for the most part, completely harmless.
"Ohhh! Okay. I'll go on patrol then and make sure everything is safe, okay? I'll come back later with tea. Tea always makes me feel better!"
A smile and- a blink- Wait where was she...? The sounds of the window opening might draw the eye back to the little youkai, her body coiling and springing out the window once more.
