[ Looking to get into Nova City? Chances are you're going to run past Weiss. Since this has started, she and Nova's deputies have been holding onto various roles. The entrance to Nova City's been guarded by Weiss, Satsuki, and Grievous. Mercury's been doing expeditions into Genessia main to help bring people back, and Jaune and Garrus have been keeping things calm within the city walls. All armed with David's spirit weapons, though with orders to use them as limitedly as possible and to just try to keep out with regular weapons rather than kill if possible- protecting the city was the priority. At least, until Jaune had realized what those flowered things were- or at least what part of them was.

Their formation needed to change. Things needed to be done, and she didn't want to send Jaune off alone either. When she gets a chance, she gets the rest of the deputy team and guardians up on the comms. ]

I'm staying at the gate and Nova City is going to be overrun over my dead body, but Jaune's right. Some of us need to head to Fayren. I told one of the guardian candidates that the cities in this place only exist because we're all here together, not because we only stick our necks out for our own. I need to know which of you are going so we can regroup in Nova City and make sure our people stay safe, but at minimum Jaune is headed to Fayren.

Jaune, I have faith in you but I don't want you going alone. No one should be alone in this fight.

If one of you goes and finds the man who gave Seek the flowers that we're now seeing in these spirits? I want him brought to me. We've got Seek, we can have him give a positive identity and then we can question him. If any of the other Guardians want a piece, we can discuss custody afterward and they're more than welcome to come question him but I want to make sure someone has him secured and since Fayren's a little lacking in leadership right now, we'll take responsibility.

David mentioned the Bay's waters, but if you're nowhere near there, use any last seconds you have to call someone you care deeply about. There's a chance they can reach you after these things have gotten you. I.. speak from experience, though I'd rather not get into it. It's a very personal experience, so what worked for me might not work for you anyway. Just know that someone you care about can bring you back. These spirits can take a lot from you but as corny as it sounds, love isn't one of them.

I have no intention of being caught, Weiss, but I do hope someone will take your advice.

That being said, I know something about the fluid nature of spirits. It is, in essence, what makes necromancy possible in my world, that being my chosen area of study.

As such, I may be able to shore up defenses as I have been for those looking for these shelters.

[Does he sound tired? Yes. Exhausted is more accurate, but Dorian is also a good person who, while loving his creature comforts and being lazy, will never turn his back on people in need, even if it means nearly killing himself with exhaustion.]

[ Exhausted about covers it. Between fighting for hours and days without any real reprieve and having to use those special weapons to kill anything, Weiss has been relying on her aura to keep her going. She's still wearing the dress she had on during the awards ceremony. Thank god she can fight in heels. She's pushing herself far harder than she should, but there's no much choice at this point. ]

I hope no one has to take my advice, but I'd rather give it in case someone needs it. Even if it's late, but I've been a little busy. [ She's barely had a moment to catch her breath, clearing the city out and then finding a way to defend the city while still helping people get in. Things are finally at least relatively under control in Nova- at least enough that she can take a break to talk and find out if her people are okay instead of just the immediate threat. ]

You'd better shore up defenses, I'm not going to be happy if you get caught, Dorian.

[ She takes a deep breath. It's tired. ] I'll be able to summon them after this. I don't want to risk losing control or I'd try now, they can clearly hurt themselves or these weapons wouldn't work.

[He sounds impressed, if not only slightly.]

I may have turned one or two of them upon their fellows, myself. Handy, that.

Weiss is probably the only person who understands what that means to him, who knows the whole story. Even though he's terrified, for everyone, those words encourage him to knowing that he is doing the right thing.]

[ But she gives him a little smile. A tired one, but one that shows she knows he can do it. ]

As for custody, I don't care who gets it. I just care that we put an end to the current situation.

We appreciate it. I've asked Fai to create barriers around hospitals and prisons, so if he's still got fight in him, those who are incapacitated should be safe, as well.

[ She looks like she's hesitant to really say, even if she knows she shouldn't be wasting time on conversations, but right now she needs a moment to rest or she's going to pass out from sheer lack of sleep. And he needs to know that what he's done has made a real difference in ways he probably didn't foresee ]

Thank you, for the weapons. We've been focusing on just driving them off and only killing if necessary, but.. and I'm not risking it right now, but if your weapons are working against them, and if I keep training, I've got a few I can control without getting drained the next time. [ She wishes she could say she could now, but she's too tired. She knows what happens when she's not in the mental state to control what she summons and that's not something she wants to try yet. She's been working hard here to learn to control her emotions and get better, it's part of why she's been seeking mental health help, but that's mostly just preventing her from accidental summoning when she's emotional. Active combat is another story and she's not willing to risk it yet unless she's cornered. ]

[Gale had already gone by once early during the attack to drop a civilian off in Nova City's safe house, but he came back out again to help out in Genessia City as much of he could. Strangely, he decided eventually that he didn't exactly have a sense of direction, and talking to Weiss was probably the best place to start getting some kind of instructions. He's still dressed up but it's not like most anyone's had a chance to change or anything.]

Got any use for an extra set of hands anywhere?

[He probably could have approached any of the Guardians to help in their respective archways, but helping Nova was really more important to him in just about every way.]

[ She's in her dress as well. So much for accepting an award that she.. honestly really appreciated, despite that she hadn't asked to participate nor really wanted to. Truth be told, they reminded her of who her father wants her to be- someone who cares about things like how many plaques had your name on it. But after consideration, she'd thought of it in a new way here- It wasn't about her so much as accepting it for everyone else, because it showed that people appreciate it when you do something worthwhile here to help others- that was important, a role Weiss was okay with. If she had won the cooking one (she still didn't understand that she's not a good cook) or something like best couple (thank god she and Sun weren't nominated), she might not have showed. Her role in high society was a little shaky right now and accepting awards tended to be something that fit into that world. She had no doubt if there weren't a disaster her father would be praising her, which was somehow more uncomfortable than being scolded at this point. She supposed there was some relief in not having to celebrate the little victories, even if she felt bad that no one else had gotten to celebrate theirs either- something Gale's outfit reminded her of as he approached. ]

Every set of hands we can get. I'm losing deputies soon.

Just be careful. Once people are like that they get.. dangerous. Guilt and compassion go along with every other emotion. All that's left is need, so getting close to that person you're close to can be dangerous.

Last time, it took me being endangered to reach my brother. Same with my boyfriend reaching his bff.

I don't want to harm anyone. I'm not strong enough to be a threat to most of the people I cared about.

[ Past tense because he isn't feeling anything. Him not wanting to harm people is more for practical reasons. Also, his laziness is stronger than his hunger to feel again.]

[ She can't.. put herself in the position to do that. The Bay's method drains both parties, and she can't abandon Nova City for him. There's a lot of guilt associated with knowing that she can't go save Mayu if that's the case. ]

That's good to hear. [Sadly Seth doesn't have anyone he loves in this city. Time has a way of taking the things he loves from him.]

I've been trying to help people get to the shelters but do we know where these are coming from exactly? [Seth's been to frantic trying to help and while he can use his powers in the physical world, it weighs on him.] I'm a lot better with shields than attacking.

[He might be able to hold them off but not forever. Seth is trying to look for another plan and it isn't in him to just leave. Weiss, while he doesn't know a lot about her, clearly knows the situation.]

Truth be told, we don't know much about them at all. We have a suspect for who's been opening the barriers, but the spirits themselves aren't exactly open to sharing their stories.

[ And the suspect is hard to describe since for the most part, they've just got "man seen fleeing the scene" and a vague description from Seek. ]

But if you're better at protecting than attacking, do that. There are a lot of people who can't do either.

[She wants to find out if he's safe or not before helping out in Nova City.]

[ She's relieved Nora responded. Sometimes she forgets they know each other. There was a special level of guilt she was feeling for not being able to go get him herself because she had a responsibility to Nova City. ]

Can you go find him? If you take him to the Bay, it'll drain you, but you should be able to get him back. If not.. I mean, the way I said will work, but it could run a cost. People who've been affected don't think clearly.
