[ It's not like Lucy was deliberately avoiding people. Far from it, actually - she left word at the guild that she was heading out (alone for a change) and was heading down to the lake not far from the guild. So it wasn't like she was against company. She welcomed it. She just needed some air. Her sleep the previous night was surprisingly restless, and that she supposed was due to the strange dream she had. So, armed with a few books (one or two romance novels, and a detective novel), she trotted out to settle down by the lake. If it was just the dream on her mind it was one thing, but there was a certain salmon haired Dragonslayer dominating her thoughts too. When she realized she'd read the same page where the hero and the heroine were sharing a romantic first kiss, she had to half close the book, turning to watch the lake instead. Aheh. ]

[OOC: Open for anyone to come across her either while she might be out for a walk in the other districts or when she'll be relaxing in Fayren near the lake. ]

[Blake is no stranger to this lake. Most of her income still comes from monster-hunting jobs in Fayren, and trips to Vale to restock on Dust it's become a regular place to find some peace and quiet. It's usually fairly secluded too, so it's a surprise to find it already occupied, albeit not necessarily an unwelcome one.]

I guess it's no surprise that you've found this place as well.

[ Lucy and her friends had most of their income come in from monster hunting jobs too - or ones that they picked from the paper or newsletter. She almost welcomed something nice and distracting like that actually. Hearing the voice of her book-loving friend, Lucy cast a quick, tired smile her way. ]

Blake, hey. I hope you don't mind - I ... it's not far from the guild, and I just wanted to get a little peace before heading back. You come to this part of Fayren a lot?

[Which she's very well aware of since it's become a little more difficult finding well-paying jobs with Fairy Tail active in the same field. But a little competition wasn't a bad thing, and it gave her good reason to keep her skills sharp since the monsters themselves rarely proved to be a huge challenge.]

Of course not, I can't very well lay claim to an entire lake for myself.

[She approaches the edge of the water in her usual soundless way, glancing over and noting the tired look on Lucy's face and the book in her hands.]

... Usually when I'm also looking for a little quiet as well. Don't let me interrupt you.

[Because if anybody understands how frustrating it can be to find yourself in a sudden conversation when you're trying to read, it's Blake.]

[ If it helps, they do occasionally take jobs outside of Fayren. Lucy chuckled lightly. ]

No, I guess you can't. [ But her she gave the other girl a welcoming grin, shaking her head and putting the book to the side. ]

No, it's all right. I don't mind a little company right now. [ Besides, Blake was quiet too. ]

Have a seat. How have you been resettling in?

[The lake looks lovely, isn't it? Continue watching it for now, Lucy, until a form made of water gradually emerges from near the shore.

This form slowly begins to mold into that of a young woman she knows very well.]

Love rival.

[Not here to pick a fight, though.]

[ IT really did look beautiful. She could see it from her window too, but she had felt like coming closer t... wait, what's going on with the water..?

... oh no. Nooooooo no nono, she thought Gray intercepted and calmed you down D:! DON'T KILL ME PEOPLE WILL MISS ME AND HEAR HER SCREAM. You'll be suspect NUMERO UNO, Juvia. U -NO! ]

J.. Juvia!

[ ...h-hiiii paaaal. How's it goin? ]

[She doesn't smile in greeting, though. Just gives Lucy a flat stare as she fully emerges out of the lake.]

Juvia comes in peace. Juvia will not drown you as per Gray-sama's orders. [Then, she looks away and blushes a little. Tsuns.] And because Juvia and Lucy are still nakama.

[ Oh dear. That flat stare made her a little worried. No, a lot worried. Until she spoke. She let out a silent sigh of relief, smiling warmly at the tsuntsun water mage. ]

Juvia...

Why don't you come and join me then? [ Sit sit~! ... and don't grab her journal by mistake, it's with her books. ]

[It does help a little bit. To the point where Blake hasn't had to make any downgrades to her lifestyle or anything, at least.]

[She returns Lucy's grin with one of her trademark faint smiles as she sits on the shoreline a short distance away.]

Well, Yang and I needed to revisit our discussion about how many boy band posters are appropriate for the walls but I haven't had any problems otherwise.

[She gives a short glance back in the direction of the guild hall.]

Mostly, it's been a matter of catching up. I understand that a lot more people have arrived since I've been away.

[ Lucy would feel horrible if Blake and her friends had to do that. ]

Yes. Now there's Natsu, Erza, Wendy, myself, Gray, Juvia, Gajeel at the guild. Virgo and Loke stay in the spirit world often as not. Then there are REgina and the kids - they joined the guild recently, so it's pretty chaotic at times.

[No need for that just yet. Blake isn't the only one on the team earning money.]

[That does sound like a full house, and more than a little bit of a handful if these new ones were anything like the group she'd known before.]

It sounds that way. [She tilts her head slightly.] How have you been? You seem...

[Off? Troubled?]

... a little tired.

[ When they were all present it was hard for Lucy to follow everything going on. So she tried to focus on just a little thing at a time. Blake's observation brought a sheepish smile - she didn't want to worry any of her friends, let alone her new ones. ]

I am. I just...didn't sleep very well last night.

[ Which is weird, when she always slept so well when Natsu was with her. ]

I guess I was up too late - we invited a lot of people over the other day.

[Stayed up too late. A pretty reasonable explanation, and yet... Blake had the feeling there was more to it than just that. She quirks an eyebrow in Lucy's direction.]

Is that all?

[She can be pretty insightful when she wants to be.]

[ Dangit, Blake is as perceptive as Natsu is. ]

I ..have a few things on my mind, I guess. Dreams, and ..

[ And a certain someone, but Blake didn't know about her issue with Natsu right? Raye did though. She hesitates a moment, and finally chuckles weakly, blushing. ]

Boy issues.

[ Amirite ladies? ]

[It may be true that Blake isn't the most... social creature in the world herself, but she's spent quite some time honing her abilities at reading people. It only helps that Lucy isn't exactly lacking in transparency herself.]

I see.

[She doesn't know. Not specifically, but she can probably hazard an educated guess on the matter. Still, seeing Lucy's blush she smirks a little bit and her voice takes on a slightly teasing edge.]

Let me guess. He set the bed on fire?

[ It's true, Lucy isn't great at hiding her feelings in some cases. Or at least people who know her well. But Blake. BLAKE. That teasing question makes her start to blush again because.. w..what are you implying woman!? ]

Wh.. what? Set the.. on fire? Why w.. would you even think -- How -- w..

[ AUGH blush ]

[Now it's Blake's turn to chuckle at Lucy's reaction, the double purpose of teasing her and confirming Blake's suspicions more than adequately served.]

Sorry.

[She decides to shelf "He seems like he'd get carried away, that's all" for another day. Lucy's face is already red enough and she doesn't want the poor girl's head to explode after all.]

What kind of "boy issues" then?

[ THANK YOU FOR THAT Blake. If you'd said that, she would have gone catatonic. ]

Huh? Wh.. [ Oh right, Give her a second, she's rattled now. ]

Well, it's.. complicated..

[ Ishtar's in the same boat with all the things going on. She's not feeling very lively herself and she happens to be passing by the blond haired girl she remembered from that one pool party that happened. She didn't remember the outcomes but was pretty ... well interesting. ]

Hey.

[ She greets the girl. ]

[ Lucy glanced up curiously. ]

Ah - it's you ..

[ In all of the chaos she never DID get Ishtar's name. ... ... does she still think Gray is her boyfriend? ]

Sorry, I never introduced myself back then did I. I'm Lucy.

[ Which Ishtar probably recalled since Gray had called her name back then! ]

Ishtar.

[ She replied softly as she pointed to herself. ]

Hello again, Lucy. I'm sorry about last time.

[ It was pretty obvious she learned that He wasn't her boyfriend. She gave her a small look. ]

Lucy, sweetie are you okay?

[ She mused tilting her head. The girl seemed a little down. ]

[She tries to help.]

It usually is.

[She could tell you stories... but we're not here to talk about Blake's problems, are we?]

Would it help to try talking through them?

[ Sorry Blake, she just got stuck on 'Set the bed on fire' again. Putting THAT mental image out of her head pls and thank you. ]

Talking through them? I...'m not sure. The last time I talked about it, things got...

[ Well HER face sure is turning pink again. ... see Lucy, trailing off with a reaction like that will only give people the rig--er, wrong idea! ]

Ishtar. It's nice to meet you. [ Thank god Ishtar understood Gray wasn't her boyfriend. Now if the others would just follow that... ]

Eh? O-oh, yeah, I'm fine. Just a little tired... that's all.

[That's probably for the best, Lucy. Those types of mental images are better saved for other times anyway.]

[For now, Blake raises a hand. As fun as it might be to troll Lucy about it all a little bit, she can tell it isn't entirely a laughing matter to her all the same.]

Okay. No more jokes, and nothing leaves this lake. I promise.

[She draws her knees up, resting her arms across them as she looks over at Lucy.]
