First of all congratulations to the returning guardians Grell, David and Weiss as well as congratulations to Cassian for becoming the new Guardian of Attleton.

Second of all my first order of business is to:
1) Ask for the other candidates who ran for Fayren to please meet with me at the office. I have something I want to ask first before going forward.
2) Go on patrol as soon as I am done with this message or after I've met with those I mentioned, depending which comes first.
3) I will be looking for Deputies soon to help me. As for pay... I can pay up to four stars for four deputies since I will be using my own funds, those you get in the first place and the pay from being Guardian in order to do so. However, depending on certain things I might at a minimum only be hiring one person.
Finally, 4) I want to speak to those who are either have medical know how or who are magical healers. I said in my campaign that I wanted to make healing a thing to help those who do end up becoming a deputy. But yet at the same time, I think it could be a great benefit for the possibility of having people be able to learn to do something like that, even if it is the basic first aid. So if anyone can help me with that, please let me know.

[Once Yukiko was done with the message and once she was sure of certain things, the first thing she set out to do, went on patrol. She was making sure she did her part when not doing paperwork. Making sure there was a friendly face for people to see, to come up to if something is happening so she could deal with it as soon as possible.

With every friendly face she met, she gave a smile and a wave, keeping an eye the whole time on situations. Checking that everything was okay. When she was sure that it was, she moved on.]

[Well, this was unexpected. Qubine doesn't respond to the text (because texting is rather difficult with his claws), so he'll just fly on over to the office. He lands outside the building with a heavy boom. Hopefully that will alert her to his arrival?]

[Yukiko had been planning on heading out just as he arrived, so she was standing by the door with a smile on her face.]

Hello. I guess this means you got my text, correct?

[Qubine doesn't return the smile, instead averting his gaze for a brief moment.]

Obviously. You wanted to meet with all the Fayren candidates? What would you ask of us?

I did and.... honestly you can say no to this if you would like, but I wanted to ask if you wanted to become a deputy?

[As she said, he was free to say no, but she figured she would ask regardless.]

Even with the post you did, a deputy can be out there patrolling an area and learn about the city that way.

A deputy?

[He considers it for a moment. He still unfamiliar with the term, but he's heard it mentioned enough times in conjunction with the City Guardians to get an idea of what it means.]

That's the assistant to the City Guardian, correct?

That is correct. They help the Guardian. In this case, it would be patrolling. Since you wouldn't be able to do paperwork, I'd do that for you. You'd just have to report to me.

[A pause for a moment.]

That's if you take the job, obviously.

Patrolling. Well, why not? It would be something to do, in any case.

All right, I'll accept the job.

[Yukiko inwardly couldn't help but sigh with relief. She was glad he accepted it. Though she would have gone out to see if anyone else wanted to be one that fits the qualifications she had in mind.]

I'm glad. Then I guess I can say you're hired and I will bring the map outside so we can discuss where you would prefer to patrol. If that is okay?

[He gives a shrug of his shoulders.]

It's fine with me. Since I can fly, I can cover most of the city quickly.

How clearly can you see things from the sky, if you don't mind me asking?

[She figured she might as well remember when she does sort things out.]

[Alice was disappointed. In her opinion, someone was elected for doing absolutely nothing but run an inn and play doctor. The new Fayren guardian has done nothing to prove that she is actually capable of the job.

However, Alice was above petty envy. She'll respect the decision of the people and carry about her business as usual. The puppeteer arrived at the Guardian's office, and as per usual, never without the Grimoire of Alice and her two helper dolls floating around her.

Alice sent a reply text announcing her arrival as she enters the building and stand waiting in the reception room.]

[Yukiko had been jotting things down on the map, certain points around certain areas. After a moment or two, she looks up. She is at least now aware that someone is outside. So going on over, she opens the door before giving a small bow.]

Hello, would you like to come through.

[Once she is standing up straight she goings back into the office, making sure the papers that were nearby were picked up and placed on the desk.]

[Alice bows in return, her helper dolls mimicking the puppeteer. She enters but does not take a seat. She prefers to stand right now.]

Thank you for the invitation, Amagi. What did you wish to talk to us about? Anything specific for each former candidate?

[Yukiko went and grabbed a couple of papers, something that was top of her list to do and the reason she was looking at the map in the first place. But for now, she places the papers by it.]

I actually wanted to talk to each of you about something specific, you'd be correct about that.

[Yukiko wasn't planning on sitting down, mostly because there were things she had to look through about what the last guardian was doing before being able to do things herself.]

Because we all have the same or similar goals in mind for Fayren, I figured I would ask each of the other candidates if they wanted to be a deputy. However, you don't have to accept it and can just say no.

[A small smile tugged at Alice's lips. She, of course, had a similar idea.]

I will accept. Though, are you aware people like Weiss think the purpose of my security dolls is to oppress and violate freedoms? She may try to pressure you if you keep me around. Of course, I've already issued highly detailed reminders of their actual purpose. So it's up to her to be smart to foolish on the subject.

Now... When may I start?

I am aware and honestly, I can understand that thought. But, I will add I do want to study and learn more about them, so a report detailing everything would be appreciated and every so often when on patrol I will watch them and see them in action, see what they are like with actual natives and such.

[She looks back on the map.]

You can start as soon as possible. Or more so as soon as you pick which area you would like to patrol.

[Alice bit her tongue, but she did have a ever so slight glare. She questioned in her mind why Yukiko hadn't done so since the last time they had this discussion on the dolls.

Her two helper dolls, Shanghai and Hourai, took Alice's phone. While Hourai holds it, Shanghai brings up the map of Fayren and the puppeteer looks it over.]

As to not step on any toes; have you determined what open area needs patrolling?

I've been sorting it out. I have one area sorted for one person in particular and one seems to cover more from the sky than the ground, so...

[She goes over to her own map, pointing out a couple of places.]

These two are the ones free right now.

[Alice nods, but showing a little more reaction to the airborne suggestion.]

Decisions... I will take the ground.

[This way, she can be amongst the people and keep an eye on the security dolls.]

If there is nothing else, I will get started.

Very well. I will start you off with this area.

[She pointed it out.]

That is pretty much it. I'll be taking the other area when I head off in a minute. But one question quickly... Do you have any ability that can heal or is there potential for you to learn if not?

Healing...?

[It's out of her field of research. But if she can learn everything she needs to tend to domestic matters and battles, healing certainly wasn't out of her reach.

As if she wasn't powerful enough already.]

I certainly do have the capacity to learn. Why do you ask?

Because it was part of my goals because if something does happen and someone gets hurt, at least it means they get seen too quickly. Plus if there is a big incident involving you, then again....quick to sort one's self up and continue on.

Or try if it's not magic, I believe but it's still useful.

[She was still going to work on that among other things.]

If it's magic, I can learn it. It would be interesting making healer dolls.

If you have any books, I can borrow them and work on it on my own time.

I don', but I am aware of books around Fayren somewhere. The bookshop more than likely.

I'll make sure to buy it when I walk past it next time.

[Mavis had meant to congratulate Yukiko in person on her victory, so this meeting comes handy. She was also interested in getting one of the four deputy positions Yukiko was offering. First, because the results of the votes showed citizens of Fayren trusted her (she got more that 25% of the votes after all) and second, because she thought Yukiko and her saw eye to eye on most things, so it wouldn't be too hard for them to work together.

She sends a quick message back along those lines: "I'll be there shortly. Btw, I'd be interested in becoming one of your Deputies so we can discuss this as well.".

As she's headed to the Guardian's office, Mavis wondered if it was actually what Yukiko wanted to talk about with the three other candidates: Whether or not they would settle for a position of Deputy Guardian. Time would tell.

Mavis entered the building and waiting for the newly appointed Guardian of Fayren to receive her.]

[Yukiko was looking at a map of Fayren, when she looked up, going on over to the door as she smiled happily.]

Welcome, please come in. [As she turned she started to walk back toward the map.] I saw your message and I saw you were interested in one of the deputy positions.

[She was actually happy about that as it made this easier to ask.]

That was actually what this meeting is about. My plan was to ask the others who ran to be deputy because... well they have the same goal as I do. You have the same goal. So it seems logical.

[Mavis gives Yukiko a friendly smile and reaches out to gently hug her if the other girl will let her.] H! Congratulations, Yukiko!

Indeed! It seemed logical to me too.

[Hugging had really not been something the young girl was expecting. But she didn't exactly push away either.]

Thanks... I'm glad you think that but.... I guess this is your way of saying yes?

Well, I suggested it before you even asked, didn't I?

Yes, I'd be happy to be one of your deputies.

[She turns to the maps on Yukiko's desk.] So, what shall we start with?

We start by you picking which area you would like to patrol. With that, it will be your area that people will end up knowing you the most. It just makes it easier that way, more so with paperwork.

[She moved and pointed at a certain area.]

Though I will take a guess the area you would prefer would have your guild within it, right? Would make it easier for you.

[Ah ha, it's the candidate that Akira has been wanting to talk to the most. Thanks to her profile in the candidate newsletter, he was able to discover that he actually can change forms and summon his Personas without being in the Metaverse. He isn't sure yet how open he wants to be about his own status as a Persona user though considering it also ties to his identity as a Phantom Thief, so he'll private his message just to be safe.]

Congratulations on your victory, Guardian Amagi.

This is off topic, but there's something I've been wanting to talk to you about ever since I saw your profile in the newsletter. It mentions that you have a Persona. I didn't think there were any other Persona users out there apart from me and my comrades. How did you awaken yours?

[Didn't think there were other persona users? The only ones she had ever been aware of was her friends and a few select other people she had met. The person replying to her was not any of those. Plus if they had been he would have known who she was.]

I do have a persona, though... I honestly didn't think there were others beyond who I knew back home.

As to how I awakened mine... uh... it's a touchy subject. So I won't give details, but I pretty much had to accept a part of myself and that's how I got mine.

[Never going to openly mention her princess shadow. Nope.]

[Poor Yukiko. At least the P5 kids never had the misfortune of meeting their Shadow selves.]

Accept a part of yourself? I can see why that would be a touchy subject. For me, I had to awaken to my rebellious spirit and literally rip off my inner mask. It was a pretty brutal experience, but one I'd say was well worth it in the end.

[Akira never would have imagined that there are multiple methods to awakening a Persona. He bets Morgana would have been interested in this, too...]

Are you from Tokyo?

That's correct. If one rejected their shadow first time, it would attack. If you rejected it the second time it just tended to vanish with nothing coming from it.

As for yours, I've never heard of it being awoken like that before. Rebellious side. Inner mask. Makes you sound a bit like rebels, fighting for potentially a just cause.

[It sounded interesting.]

As for where I live. I do not. I come from Inaba.

So you meet your own Shadows. Interesting. One of my friends met their Shadow too, but they never fought.

That's exactly what we are. We're trying to reform society by changing the hearts of corrupt adults so they confess to their crimes and giving people who are suffering in silence the courage to stand up for themselves and live their own life.

Ah, that would explain why we've never run into each other in the Metaverse then. My group is in Tokyo.

That could have meant she accepted it mkre than likely.

That sounds very noble of you, though changing hearts?

That is probably why. I mean I wasn't aware of others until after everything that happened in my town.

As the only two new guardians, maybe we can support in another in getting used to our new duties.

Ah, I'm actually glad you replied.

There is actually something I need to meet up with you to talk about. But I do agree in supporting one another. teamwork is important both in our cities and out of it.

[ That is... good? Bad? He settles on unsettled. Need to talk translates to bad news in his experience. ]

Of course. I'd like to meet you in person anyway, Guardian Amagi. Before we cross paths during a crisis, that is. I've been to Fayren only once, but I was planning to visit anyway. Would tomorrow suit you?
