[ The feed starts simply with Thrawn seated at a table. He has replaced the glowing white uniform with a nondescript grey tunic but the distinct glow of his red eyes remains. His voice is always calm, blue hands folded in front of him. ]

In this place we have come to, time seems to be suspended. Or at least the linear progression of it is. In the time I came from, there was conflict. But it was the conflict that arises from the natural point in that given time.

Since coming here I have come to learn that which I wanted to avoid most did come to pass. As you might imagine, this is rather difficult to know.

It is for this reason I speak publicly, now. If the faction of the Empire is the progenitor to this it then becomes imperative that emperor Palpatine be restored as soon as possible. With this restoration, I would also wish to sever any ties.

Do not mistake this for condoning the actions of the rebels, or their successor faction the resistance. The efforts of a ragtag group of insurgents are what opened the door to allow evil inside the galaxy I come from in the first place.

That said, It is a war that is from that same galaxy, and I do not intend to bring it here.

[ Thrawn nods politely at the camera. ]

I think I liked the white uniform better, it brings up eyes. Plus, wouldn't you get hot now that the weather is much warmer?

[ Kay was polite, and helpful. It's a bit odd to think of a droid as anything but a tool, but having an actual personality helps. Thrawn will still be polite right back. ]

Very well, then if it's the same to you I'll call you Admiral Thrawn. There's something I am curious about. For a Chiss, no offense, 'Thrawn' seems like a very short name.

No, I am not. But what makes a person, a person? Is is being organic in nature or is it displaying intelligence and having the ability to think for themselves? Plants are organic, so are sarlaccs. You can't exactly have an intelligent conversation with them.

'Thrawn' is much easier for most to say. And I did not say that I held with the opinion that a person needed to be organic, only that it was interesting you consider yourself to be an equal when many other droids do not.

Might I ask which one is your full name? Droids don't have the same vocal limitations as others people. although Shyriiwook is still a challenge.

Hm. Sorry, then. I get a bit defensive about that because when you heard over and over that you are just a 'thing', it gets tedious really quickly.

[ Thrawn has dealt with xenophobia from the moment he entered the imperial academy. If any imperial understood the feeling of being thought of as a 'thing' it's him. Rightnow he pauses, seeming to consider a moment. Then; ]

[Very true. They both had to deal with unpleasant things coming from people from their own side. General Draven used to refer to Kay as 'Andor's pet droid'.

He repeats the name in his mind a few times, makes sure to get it all right before speaking up again. Thrawn didn't really have to tell him his name but he still did it, and Kay has the feeling it was, in fact, his real name.]

You know Palpatine?

[The face that appears has similar colouring - red eyes and blue skin - but they're obviously not from the same species.]

[There probably isn't anyone who really 'knows' Sheev Palpatine. Thrawn's tone remains cool. ]

In a way.

He's a bit of an enigma, that one.

[He can agree with that, after what he more recently found out.]

I'm still keeping my guard up. But if no nasty stuff happens, I'll keep the peace. I'd rather not end up in another war if I can avoid it.
