Hey so, bit of a weird question. Anyone here ever heard of Torchwood, and could maybe point me how to get back to contacting the local branch? That'd be really handy, yeah?

Year and star system coordinates would also be fantastic, but I'm not holdin' my breath waitin'.

[Bites her bottom lip in thought.]

[She doesn't even know which universe this is. Much less how she got here without a dimension cannon or where everyone she was with went. Maybe they're here. But then maybe even saying their name depending on the universe is dangerous. Luckily, she's had 5+ years (give or take for literal dimension rewinds and time in the vortex) of experience in learning how to do codes.]

Here's a fairytale you've probably never heard before.

Once upon a time there was a big bad wolf. She wandered a city of metal filled with metal men. [Too dangerous to even say the world cyberman until she learned more!] She thought she was on a mission to hunt down her lost prince. But she was actually on a mission to find home. Bit like Dorothy from Wizard of Oz if you know it. And one day she met a man who wasn't a prince at all. He was a very brainy professor. There was even another man who started off as a mouse but turned into a lion full of courage, saving worlds he never even knew existed. And a really flirty captain who was probably too pretty for his own good. They weren't off to find a wizard. Just a blue box.

The big bad wolf ran away from home and her pack over and over and over again, but no matter how many times she ran, and how many new friends she made or which universe she fell into, something was always calling her back. 'Pparently you can't escape your family that easily. That or the Big Bad Wolf's mum was seriously terrifying and would fight a werewolf for diamonds and totally win.

No! Torchwood just helps them hide from the public who aren't too great with dealing with outsiders and cast-offs from the Rift. Um... Unless they hurt someone. But that's usually not the werewolf's fault, they're usually just being used by a cult or something, like the ones that killed Queen Victoria in uh, [Think think think... hestitantly...] one universe I know of.

Nice ta meetcha K2S0! I'm... [Pauses. SO FAR it seems okay to give her name, and this place isn't operating in usual TW guidelines, or even on any universal frequency she's ever seen. The Doctor introduced himself as that, and given Amy... Rose finally nods.] I'm Rose. [She still keeps the Tyler part to herself. Torchwood + Tyler can start up too many problems she's not going to poke until actually necessary.] Nice ta meetcha. [Finger waggles!]

I don't even know who's Queen Victoria but...'In one universe you know of.'...? [If he could raise an eyebrow, and if he had eyebrows, he would be doing just that.]

I've been in multiple universes. They get a bit difficult to keep track of at some point.

[Luckily she loves it, so she smiles and salutes.]

Oh in that case you get used to this place relatively quickly. Home come you can travel between universes?

Maybe. I don't usually get to stay long enough to adjust much though. Missions and all.

[Pause.] Classified. It's not replicable for anyone else though. I had a few accidents, and I managed to play around with time enough to do something that really no one else should try. It'd likely get them killed. Or a lot worse.

Trust me I have no wish to leave this world. I can't even return to mine, I am dead here. Besides, everyone I need is here.

She doesn't know if she's in another pocket plane that isn't of her doing, or this is all an elaborate hallucination on her part or what.] You remember being dead? [It's a careful whisper, shrunk into short sleeve hoodie that had been under the leather jacket.]

I don't think anybody can remember 'being dead' as it is not an ongoing state. But if you are asking if I remember the circumstances of my disease and how much it hurt, the answer is yes.

[Nah. She's just beginning to wonder if this is a dream/nightmare since the last time she slept was a WHILE ago and she's been kind of doing stuff to make the dead alive in alternate universes for over a year now, and it's getting weird.]

What happened? [Gentle sympathy.]

You handled that very healthily. Making the most of what you have is a useful talent it's a shame isn't more common.

Thank you, that's kind of you to say. Droids like me try to take the most logical and healthy decisions after evaluation all the possibilities. Moving on seemed like the best option.
