Hey so, bit of a weird question. Anyone here ever heard of Torchwood, and could maybe point me how to get back to contacting the local branch? That'd be really handy, yeah?
Year and star system coordinates would also be fantastic, but I'm not holdin' my breath waitin'.
[Bites her bottom lip in thought.]
[She doesn't even know which universe this is. Much less how she got here without a dimension cannon or where everyone she was with went. Maybe they're here. But then maybe even saying their name depending on the universe is dangerous. Luckily, she's had 5+ years (give or take for literal dimension rewinds and time in the vortex) of experience in learning how to do codes.]
Here's a fairytale you've probably never heard before.
Once upon a time there was a big bad wolf. She wandered a city of metal filled with metal men. [Too dangerous to even say the world cyberman until she learned more!] She thought she was on a mission to hunt down her lost prince. But she was actually on a mission to find home. Bit like Dorothy from Wizard of Oz if you know it. And one day she met a man who wasn't a prince at all. He was a very brainy professor. There was even another man who started off as a mouse but turned into a lion full of courage, saving worlds he never even knew existed. And a really flirty captain who was probably too pretty for his own good. They weren't off to find a wizard. Just a blue box.
The big bad wolf ran away from home and her pack over and over and over again, but no matter how many times she ran, and how many new friends she made or which universe she fell into, something was always calling her back. 'Pparently you can't escape your family that easily. That or the Big Bad Wolf's mum was seriously terrifying and would fight a werewolf for diamonds and totally win.
Thanks for listening, Ta!

"If your legs get tired though I could carry you. One human isn't very heavy. I just have to fly a little bit more slowly." Which might be a good idea considering the archway would probably take at least another 30 minutes to reach. If not more. At least at the pace they were currently going.

And before the feels became too strong. "Also, I don't know what a trolley is. It sounds like fun though! I've heard of a train. I've never ridden in one though. We just seem to have cars here. I've been in one a few times but it's so cramped."
no subject
A small gasp. "You've never been on a train or trolley?" she snapped her fingers, pulled out her cell phone, and pulled up the map to find the closest one. "Okay! New adventure time. They're way more fun than cars! You can run around on the train, and stick your head out the windows on trolleys. Cars are just to get you places. Trains and trolleys are to enjoy the ride. Like... you ever been on a ship of some kind?"

Koishi had stopped when Rose stopped to check her phone, tilting her head. There was a Tokyo sub-archway though so it wasn't a total loss.
"Miss? I haven't seen any trains around here though. There's one in a sub-archway but not in this city. And that sub-archway is a ways off. We're going to Fayren. There's other adventures there. Bright ones. Full of green and fire and gold-dust. You'll love it!"

Rose objects to this. They need to set up a lifesize toy train system, clearly.
"Yeah?" a beam, "Okay okay," a laugh. "Sounds gorgeous."

On the other side what had once been busy streets and buildings was now nothing but nature overlooking an old, almost medieval looking town by the water. And beyond it was more wilderness and even a mountain range. Even the air was different.
"This is Fayren, Miss. It's really big and grand and I love it!"

"It's gorgeous!!" Especially after cyberman dystopias and gritty cityscapes. "Ahhhh I have to remember to show my friend, he'll love this!" Rose bounced up and down on the balls of her feet.
Srry for lateness.
Neat was one way of putting it.
Again, Rose's hand was grabbed, the little youkai righting herself before resuming the dragging along. "But exploring the surface isn't important right now. Old hell is this way. That's where Chireden and my sister are. And all of the pets. And the oni too. It's pretty great. I bet you'll love it. But don't go wandering since outside of Chireiden it's really dark and really cold and really dangerous if you wander too far."
/later!!!
I love The Impossible Planet. Though my fav ep is Midnight
This was a different hell after all. One that doesn't contain a slightly disappointing rawr monster after building it up so beautifully the episode before.
"It's this way!" Koishi was dragging her faster now, heading toward the entrance to the waterways. "We have to go through some tunnels. That's where the subarchway is so fewer people bother big sis. She gets headaches really easily in crowds if I'm not there to block some of the psychic noise."
Midnight is great but you're the first person I've met who even liked it :o
Rose frowned slightly, "Huh, that's almost... ironic. My friend has the reverse problem. He gets a little freaked out when there's not enough psychic energies flowing around, yeah?"
The pacing and emotion were so good tho!
"Oh? That's really strange! What kind of creature has a problem like that? Unless it's not a need and he just really likes the whole background noise thing."
/nod/ I think most people don't like how intense it is XD
Rose clucked her tongue quietly. Explaining the Doctor was going to take a lot more than just a single meeting. "Yeah, something like that," she shrugged, simply trusting Koishi to know the way. "But it's more like..." She couldn't really explain with the ood. Or other aliens, or feeling connected to the life force of hundreds of millions of people, she didn't really understand it herself. "Being blinded, yeah?" Best way she could think of to explain it.
But the intensity is what makes it great.
Someone was also in the process of turning the room leading to the shimmering portal into something far more welcoming than the rest of the waterways. New(ish) concrete had even been laid down. Several work lamps had been set up, half illuminating the room and running off of a power cable that led through the archway.
"Blinded?" Rose's comment actually made the little youkai turn around, tilting her head slightly. "Literally or figuratively? Points of the world that ripple and bounce around the dark. Both in confines and in emptiness. Is that what it's like? Or is the silence so deafening that it grates and chews at a buckling foundation? For your friend, I mean. Being psychically blinded is something I really understand Miss."
Her third eye had settled in her hands, Koishi holding it up. It was slightly open, the surface frosted over. The cataract was actually thicker in a line across the lens. A scar? "Maybe you could ask your friend if it's like drowning. Swimming through endless tunnels and choices. At first, at least. Until you stop breathing entirely. Then things get really interesting!"
She tilted her hat up, her thousand watt grin never faltering. "Especially when you realize you never needed to breathe in the first place. It's sad, but true."
