[At first there is silence, though something is definitely turned on. Someone is definitely waiting for something. Then, a guitar begins to play

After it fades, there is a breath and then a slow steady strum of chords, as if to provide background noise]

You know, it's a common misconception that the world is a pretty placid place. That every once in a while, something astounding may drop from the sky or drive up out of the ground, changing life as we know it. But change happens continually all around you. From when you're just walking down the street to when you're sleeping. Skin cells die, skin cells are created. Neural networks and pathways connect as you dream or don't and every breath you're inhaling just a little bit of the cosmos.

So, really, with all that change in mind, constantly going around like an ant inside your brain, you can't really expect me to be surprised by the complete change of location. Because, trust me, I'm not. Bit worried about the timing however, since I'm expected places. [a pause] Ah, it can wait. Give me what you've got.

[he begins to play again.]

The name... is Jhhh Joe, by the way... [a hard riff] Joe Cool.

They're uh... police box blue because I was on a mission and this lady I know, the strongest, smartest, lady I know, that's her favorite color. Not me, if that sounded like me. Nah, just for inspiration. [Plucks at her leather jacket and glances sideways.] Same reason for the jacket. Friend of mine, who's gone now.

[She's tempted to sing along, and guuuuh it's hurts so good.]

[Finally she breaks and does sing along.]

[he does check his face briefly, just to make sure.]

I don't know what you mean. I'm fresh as a daisy. [also he double checks to make sure the video isn't on, which it doesn't seem to be. Still it's difficult to tell if she's being clever or not and even more so when she sings along. He avoids the comment of the leather jacket and the gone now because yes and no and yes and no and still trying to show off.

He says none of that, however, and merely plays for her as she sings. This turns out to be a mistake as it is suddenly a Moment, which will likely become a painful Moment that he will remember like bittersweet coffee on the back of his tongue. Despite his best efforts he had gotten suckered in.

When he's finished he has to clear his throat, and again]

Hope you meet that lady of yours again.

No one even uses phrases like that unless they're over 50, Grandpa.

[She can't help the groan at that because... god damn that song is painful.]

[And his remark accidentally moreso.] She wasn't the one I lost.

How about you? Sounds like you're missin' someone.

[he turns on the video and points at himself with two fingers] This is not a Grandpa face. This is the blossom of youth face. If you can't see it, it's because clearly one of us needs glasses. And I already have mine.

[he absently tunes his guitar ready for something else and not in any way showing off]

[She heads out and goes to the library.]

[Sucks on a finger and just whines quietly.]

[She needs Mickey to throw a bucket of ice on her and tell her to get a grip.]

All right King o' Cool, where are ya, or do ya wanna meet me at the library? I believe I owe you something.

[Knickers. OR a hug, because she's 95% sure it's the Doctor but... she understands the need to be discreet, and also to hide it from the Doctor already there.]

I know a great place for pop rocks candy on ice cream, but you have to go through Hell to get there. The literal place, I made a friend who took me to the nicer version they have here, before they relocated to Krop Tor.

[and it's lethal to be in the same area with her. He knows this. He's already come too far down this road. He stops playing and shifts the guitar so that it hangs across his back, pushing the sonic sunglasses to settle more firmly on his nose]

I think I'd rather find a place to stay, or poke around a bit and see what I can stir up. Should be exciting.

And I'm still... debating getting somewhere else to stay. Got offered to stay at Hell, but it's still weird for me, and stayin' with my ex is just... awkward.

[if he's honest, which is rarely, since what did she mean by ex? Mickey? Nah, couldn't be. If it's himself it'll be really ruddy awkward eventually. If it's not some elaborate trick that is. At any moment he expects to see Missy strolling around something, despite her promises, and making things...complicated]

[She laughs softly, wistfully looking sideways, and then back.] You already are.

[he takes in a deep breath and lets it out again. It's exceedingly difficult to say no to that face, even though he should.]

[She giggles at that.] I haven't even actually flashed you my knickers yet....
