[After last night's little robbery, Karla felt like making a broadcast. Now, more than ever, she was glad to finally have help. New deputies, whom she still has yet to meet personally. She addressed her audience, while disappointed at the outcome from last night, she had to remain confident that she could do better, with or without help.]
...If anyone plans to go to a bank for any reason...be careful. The bank in Genessia City was robbed last night.
The good news is, David Haller, the City Guardian, has hired some new deputies to assist in protecting the city. So I would like to say welcome to my new fellow deputies. I hope we can work well together to make Genessia City a better and safer place.
[She'll end the feed there. As a deputy, she's kind of learned to be careful about how much information to share.]

[Hopefully a friendship she can feel, rather than just a statement.]
[When he mentions the sparring request, Karla smiles, blushing slightly.]
Oh...yes. You say you're more combat-oriented than anything, so I'm curious about your skill.
Re: [video]
[That sentiment would have a whole different meaning if she mentioned it to Lea.
He returned the smile though.]
Well, I've got fire magic and wield two giant chakrams; pretty much spent the last ten years or so fighting monsters called Heartless back home, so safe to say I've had plenty of practice using both. Plus I've got a particular kind of weapon called a Keyblade, though I only just got that before I arrived here, so I don't have nearly as much experience with it.
[That gets a puzzled tone from her.]
I can't say I've ever heard of those. How curious. It'll be interesting to see what you can do...
[But the Keyblade sounds vaguely familiar. She can't shake the feeling that she's heard of it before in a distant memory.]
"Keyblade...?" I think I knew someone else with that kind of weapon...
Re: [video]
[Her recognizing the Keyblade gets his attention though.]
Seriously? Do you remember what they looked like at all?
Hmm...that is a curious weapon. It sounds quite useful and versatile.
[Her face strains as she tries to remember the details of the Keyblade.]
It...was shaped like a large key. But more so, I'm trying to remember who the wielder was. It was so long ago...
[One of many examples of her forgetting who she meets...]
Re: [video]
[He does smirk slightly at her description of the Keyblade.]
Yes, that's generally why they're called Keyblades. Though do you think if I described the Keyblade wielders I know, it might help jog your memory?
[She ponders for another moment.]
As for the wielder...it was a woman. I was looking for a job, and she talked about opening a training center.
Re: [video]
[He traces and 'X' in the air so she can see the difference, despite the near identical pronounciation.]
The X-Blade is supposed to be powerful enough that it makes all normal Keyblades look like cheap toys by comparison, and is the key to unlocking Kingdom Hearts, the heart of all worlds.
[He wilts slightly when she describes the Keyblader as a woman.]
Oh. No one I know then. I've met two girls who can wield Keyblades, but neither is quite old enough that I'd call them a woman.
[She blinks.]
Oh? Well...I suppose this girl was young...younger than me...a little. But she seemed mature enough...
[Perhaps it's a maturity that comes with the warrior's training. Karla now closes her eyes, trying to remember any other distinguishable traits this Keyblade wielder might have had...]
Re: [video]
Hmmm... Was she a redhead with blue eyes, about sixteen years old or so? If so that might be Kairi.
There seems to be a lot of people who want some kind of "ultimate power," or who just want to rule over everything, and try to take over the world by force. What's the point? I'll never understand those kinds of people...
[She tries to piece together the redhead description. Somehow it didn't seem right.]
No... [The girl might have had blue eyes, but...] Actually...I think her hair was blue. Short and blue...
Re: [video]
Ah... no one I know then. Though she could be that friend King Mickey mentioned; I dunno what she looks like though, so no way to be sure.
Oh, the Deputy Guardian work isn't that bad. I can't even imagine all the work that David does. I was...utterly lost on what to do with myself before he offered me this position. Sometimes I still question my competence with it...especially in the beginning. But so far, David seems satisfied with my job performance, so I can't complain.
[She shrugs.]
Ah well...perhaps her name will come to me... [Or not?] I've always...well...I rarely bother to remember the people I've met since I began my journey.
Re: [video]
[He looks a bit surprised by her next comment though.]
Huh? Why's that?
[And her mood quickly shifts as she thinks about her impossible journey.] It's because...most people I have only met in passing. I've never stayed in one place long enough to form any significant connection with anyone. Genessia is...rather similar in that regard. Though I can't travel as I did in my world, people can still appear and disappear in an eyeblink. I've been like this for so long, I don't even know how to connect with people. I just...don't feel any attachment to most people. That's why, in the three years that I've been here, I've made fewer friends than the fingers on my hand...
Re: [video]
And that I can add a finger to the friend count.
I think you will. I can say that I like what I see so far. I think we'll work well together.
Re: [video]
Though speaking of work, we'd better get back to it; we've got a bank robber to help catch after all.
Yes, we should. David wants us to pair up and patrol the city. He also wants us to investigate the bank and see if their cameras recorded anything from the robbery. So shall we meet at the Guardians' Office or at the bank?
Re: [video]
Bank, I think. We can always start patrolling from there after we check things out at the scene.
